From start to finish, I had a great experience with this company. My basement smelled like a sewer - the woman that took my call patiently had me check my floor drains, walked me through a few things and then explained to me what all of the charges would be upfront. We scheduled a time, and they called me 1/2 hour before they were to arrive - just like they said they would.

Bob and Levon came out and were very direct about what needed to be done, what they could do, and what I should think about going forward. They were polite, efficient, and honest.

I'm sure there's cheaper plumbers out there, but to me, the peace of mind of having professionals who explained what they were doing is pretty valuable in its own right.

I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Ah, behold the joys of home ownership.

Well, technically, I don't own, but I shack up with someone who does, and since we're a team, the evils and spoils as well as the joys, are shared.

Late Saturday afternoon the sump pump in our garden-unit condo failed, flooding our apartment with water and filling our utility room with black sludge. Not exactly how you envision spending a lazy weekend afternoon.

A quick perusal of Angie's List directed us to Power Plumbing and twenty minutes later, a savior named Mike was at our door, ready to rescue us. We feared the worst (that we'd need a new pump) and Mike confirmed this, and also mentioned that given the day and time, his hourly rate would be double overtime. We knew this would cost us big bucks, but we really weren't left with an alternative. Since we're in a garden condo, all of the water for our entire unit (shower, toilet, laundry, dishwasher) is at the mercy of a working sump pump, so we had no choice but to replace it immediately.

Mike assessed the situation (our pump was a super-crappy one installed on the cheap by the developer) but he would replace it with a better one and we'd be able to get another ten years out of it. He got to work and had everything taken care of in under two hours. The final bill was a few hundred dollars less than the estimate and we were given a 10% discount for finding him on Angie's List. While it was still expensive, we didn't feel taken advantage of and we trust his work completely.

I hope you never need to use Power Plumbing for an emergency like we did, but if you do, they're the best.

I came home from work on a Friday night to a clogged toilet and partially flooded basement. After frantically (and unsuccessfully) working on it with a plunger and a coat hanger, I called Power Plumbing. John there patiently walked me through a few different steps over the phone (clearing the drain, restarting the electric pump, etc.) and we were able to get it fixed within 15 minutes without a visit. I was amazed with how specific his directions were -- and he couldn't even see my basement! I'm sure most places would have just scheduled an appointment and gladly charged me an arm and a leg for coming out on a Friday night. There was no charge for the phone help. Needless to say the next time I or anyone I know needs a plumber I will insist on Power Plumbing. Thanks John!

Love these guys.. Called them at 4 am when my neighbors caused a flood in my bathroom! Mike came out and fixed the issue! He could not have been nicer or more professional. Great service!!!

This is a review for a few weeks back. I needed my toilet and kitchen sink fixed due to tenants having problems with both. I checked for a reliable plumber and came across Power Plumbing. Instantly I was told since I found them in yelp I was getting a discount.

The time frame was from 7:30am-12pm. Well the only think I would say that I had a problem with was that they came in at 11:58am. But it was within the time frame. Anyways, awesome service, speedy and decent prices.

I always rely other people's reviews before making the choice to go with one service provider over another. This is the first time I've been compelled to write a review, so others can stop searching.

Just when I thought there weren't any businesses left that genuinely care about the customer and take pride in what they do, Power Plumbing proved me wrong. These guys are the real deal. I called them after reading all of the other rave reviews, and because their office is located in Lakeview, close to where I live. I needed a licensed plumber to diagnose a botched shower/tub pressure valve installation that was done by an independent general contractor, as part of my $11,000 bathroom remodel.

When I made the appointment with Power Plumbing, they informed me that they had to give me a 4 hour window, since there was no way of knowing how long the job before mine might take. Fair enough. Mike arrived within the first hour of the 4-hour window and I was pleasantly surprised yet again, when he put on shoe covers before entering my apartment. He was surgical in his investigation and took particular care to put every screw and part on the counter where they couldn't go down the drain or roll on the floor. Once the shower trim was removed, Mike was able to quickly identify the problem - the contractor had installed the rough-in valve upside-down!

I am demanding that the designer who oversaw my remodeling project have Power Plumbing reinstall it correctly. If you want your plumbing repair or installation done right the first time with care, confidence and pride, look no further than Power Plumbing.

Another rave review for Power Plumbing!

I had Mike B. out to unplug a blocked kitchen sink and he was excellent. Professional, courteous, friendly and did a great job. He explained how the pipes are set up and how they get clogged, and gave me some helpful tips to prevent it happening again in the future. He double and triple checked to make sure the issue was resolved and did a fantastic clean up job- my sink was sparkling! I will definitely call Power Plumbing if I ever have another issue. Highly, highly recommend.

This is a business that offers plumbing magic. Picture a plumber going to work in your house and somehow your blood pressure starts to go down. That knot in your stomach relaxes. You're not scared anymore.

Why? Because these folks operate on real principles. Principles like:

1. Let's look at the full picture of what you need. Plumbing (done like they do it) is all about ""the big picture."" Will unclogging this drain cause a flood in your dining room? Stuff like that.

2. What's best for YOU right now. They do not use scare tactics. They lay out options. You decide.

3. They don't waste time.

We had Levon. He was beyond good. But it was also clear that he was part of a larger team. And the team was so good that we even felt it.

Are there 6 stars? If they're were---they'd get them.

Had a major plumbing problem with the basement bathroom plugged due to someone using baby wipes and pluggin up the sump pump with them. Plumber was at our location in a half hour's time from the time I initially called and he got right to work with no delay. I will definitely use them again as they were professional throughout the whole process.

I needed several plumbing jobs done (replacement of several faucets, a new garbage disposal, fixing a toilet). I selected Power Plumbing based on Yelp reviews and Angie's List, and I am glad I did!
It took two visits to get all the work done (not their fault: we needed to give notice to the condo association to turn off water to the building for one of the repairs), so I had two different plumbers: James and John. Both of them were great: worked hard and efficiently, and let me know what was going on. Both of them also gave me tips and ideas for future work, at least one of which is going to save me about $600. They also did a great job cleaning up after the work was done, which I appreciated.
The office staff was pleasant and helpful, the plumbers were great, and the work was well done. An added bonus: they will schedule work on a Saturday at no extra charge, up until 3:00 p.m. What more can you ask?!
