I woke up to a lake in my kitchen on Friday the 13th, and I could not stop the leak. What a day to have a plumbing emergency.

Power Plumbing very quickly sent me Alex who had a very reassuring and competent air about him. In a short while, he showed me the worn-out culprit and replaced it. Then he checked my outside water pressure to be sure it was in the right range. And he even checked to be sure my water heater was in proper condition, and adjusted it because it was set too hot.

I really appreciate the extra care and effort.

The charge was just for the basic service call, not even for parts.

Poor communication. I didn't know when they arrived or left my unit. They did clear the blockage and the toilet flushed properly again but I had no idea the job was completed because the toilet tank lid was on the floor when I got home from work.

The property manager let the plumber inside my unit and I requested that the plumber call or text me when he arrived and also when the job had been completed. I never heard from anyone. I had to reach out to the company to check the status of the service order. Instead of doing as I requested, the plumber communicated with my spouse who had just been discharged from the hospital and needed their rest. I didn't want my spouse to be bothered which is why I requested all communications go through me.

At the very least, I would expect any plumber I hired to place the lid back on the tank and wipe down the area the worked on after completing the job. Am I expecting too much or am I being unreasonable? One never knows these days as standards in service industry continue to decline and consumers simply don't expect top-notch service from any business anymore.

There are plenty of plumbing services in the area to choose from and I would encourage people to skip past Power Plumbing and select any other plumbing services company out there.

I have had several positive experiences with Jorge - he has been so thoughtful and helpful during a very difficult situation with a neighbor. When he and Juan C. were finally able to come and fix the issue (the neighbor's fault, not theirs), they were professional, kind and quick. When the plumber (Erik) arrived on Friday morning, the first thing he asked was what job he was supposed to do. This puzzled me, as I assumed he would be informed by his employer about the tasks for the day. This was not a good start!

**Price Disputes**
I showed the plumber the items that needed fixing. He immediately commented that the quoted price was too low, clearly unhappy with the agreed-upon rate. I had to show the plumber their quote/tasks. This set a negative tone for the rest of the day.

**Unexpected Charges:**
The plumber began working on one item in the master bedroom, and two hours later, he informed me that he would need to charge an extra $200+ because he couldn't remove the master faucet. I was baffled since someone had previously inspected the site weeks ago and provided a quote, and no issues were mentioned then. I refused to pay the additional amount and had to contact the supervisor to explain the situation. I was bewildered as to why the price changed after starting the job and at half way mark, instead of informing me beforehand.

Once the first bathroom was mostly complete, the plumber informed me that he was missing some pieces and had to go to Home Depot, (approximately 10 minutes away, which would result in approximately 40 minutes max to purchase an item), but the plumber was gone for approximately hour and a half. In fact, I had to call him to inquire about his whereabouts.

After completing the first bathroom, the plumber moved to the second bathroom. He informed me that a piece broke while he was fixing the bathtub handle and that the replacement would cost $250+. Again, I had not been informed of this potential damage/cost beforehand. He suggested I go to Home Depot to purchase the part myself, which I did for about $50. Later, he informed me that the faucet couldn't be fixed (even with the part I purchased) and that it would cost $1,700 (YES, $1700!!!) to replace/fix the necessary part. This was unacceptable as everything was working in the morning, and the issues were caused by them. I had to contact the supervisor again to express my dissatisfaction - after a very angry call, they accepted to cover the issue themselves.

**Extended Work Hours:**
What was supposed to be a job starting at 10 a.m. and ending by 3 p.m. extended until approximately 8 p.m. At this point, they agreed to cover the cost of the tub repair. The plumber went to Home Depot to purchase additional necessary parts, but then I received a call stating that the required piece was unavailable and that we would have to wait until Monday.

**Water overflow in both bathrooms**
The plumber completed the toilet setup for the bidet in the master bathroom and then proceeded to the second bathroom. Shortly after, water started overflowing from the tank of toilet in the master bathroom, causing a minor flood on the floor. I notified the plumber while he was still here, and he checked the toilet tank, adjusted some of the hardware pieces, and fixed the problem.

However, the next morning, the same issue occurred in the second bathroom and wouldn't stop. Overnight, water overflowed from the toilet, leaving the floor soaked. We had to call the company to have a plumber come out Emergency on Saturday to fix the issues. In both instances, the bidet upgrade on Friday somehow caused the hardware inside the tank to shift (I think) leading to water overflow in both bathrooms. Later, our downstairs neighbor told us that as a result of the flooding, their bathroom ceiling was soaked and damaged (we informed the plumber of this issue on Saturday and referred them to Power Plumbing).

**Positive Feedback**
Firstly, the customer service of the answering service staff was prompt in answering the phone and was very courteous throughout our interaction.

Second, when I spoke with the office staff, I was equally impressed. They were very helpful in assisting me with scheduling the appointment, ensuring that everything was arranged smoothly.

Lastly, on Saturday, the second plumber, Alan, arrived as scheduled to fix our emergency needs and fix a few items we noted as shortcomings by the first plumber (lose wires, lack of caulking, the bathroom, letting us know of another issue that he also resolved, etc). Alan was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

**Overall experience**
Overall unfortunately, this was a horrendous experience with poor communication, unexpected attempts at additional charges, and a significant waste of time (having to take off a second day in Monday) - specially more frustrating as EVERYTHING worked fine before these upgrages. The first plumber claimed to have 20+ years of experience, which again makes me question it due to the many many issues we faced. I am very dissatisfied with the service provided, the overall experience, and the lack of communication both with me and within the company. In the end, with all these issues, they still charged us the quoted cost!.
