Please if you don't want to be scammed and have sub-standard labor performed DO NOT call Ilias Manavis with PoPo Plumbing & Handyman Svcs. He is the worst plumber I've ever seen. He is also on Thumbtack, which is where I got his name and advertises his services at $60 per hour. However he charged me $450.00 for a little over an hour's labor.
I got a leak in my bathroom wall behind the vanity on a Sunday and called him to fix it. He stopped the leak; however, the flexible fitting he used was twice the length it should have been. He bent the flexible pipe fitting almost double in order to fit it into the existing slot in the stud. I was concerned when I saw it but he assured me that water could get through it without a problem. I was not aware until the next day, after I had already paid him, that the kink in the fitting was so tight that hot water could not travel through to our second bathroom. I had to call another plumber on Tuesday to redo, with proper copper pipe and an elbow, what PoPo Plumbing had done and had to pay an additional $400.00 for the second repair. The second plumber was Mike's Plumbing, Inc., who does excellent work. That plumber could not believe what PoPo Plumbing had done.
Due to the circumstances, I texted Ilias Manavis with PoPo Plumbing and asked that he refund me at least half of what I'd paid him just two days before for his substandard repair. He categorically refused to give me a refund. I told him that I intended to tell my story on any media outlet available to hopefully keep anyone else from being cheated by this unscrupulous plumber and handyman.

Elias came out on the day after Thanksgiving within a few hours. I am very grateful. My bathtub faucet was leaking very badly and he fixed it perfectly. A kind, courteous, giving, fair priced and talented plumber! A++++++++ from me! He is now my plumber!

Fantastic! Lilas was very friendly and very professional. After he fixed the leak under my kitchen sink, he went on to check my toilets and bathroom sinks for leaks as well. He gave me some advice for things to look for in the future but didn't pressure me at all to do any additional work. Very reasonable, too.

He doesn't charge by the hour but by the job and charged me $340 to install a new kitchen faucet that leaked.

PoPo -- Honesty. Value. Fairness.
Note:
Others (even 'Big Name' companies) are frequently price gouging. Some people feel no alternative but to pay what they ask. Some very minor jobs are being reported (and personally witnessed) as being charged $500-$1000 OR MORE in some cases. Please do not feel trapped with no way out. Being in business with licenses, certifications, and/or experience does NOT give a company the right to price gouge. Not all do this. But many do. Learn to distinguish a small, medium, or large, complex job. A job that takes anywhere from 15 minutes, maybe up to 1 hour, is not a large job and probably not complex. Possibly $100 - $250 (or less) might be fair, depending on complexity, parts, cleanup, travel, parts used, shopping, overall time, quality of work, research, expertise, specialized tools, overhead, etc. Maybe more money, maybe less; but in many cases, less. Many jobs are simple, really, and truthfully. Not to oversimplify. But some of these companies are charging more than doctors and surgeons. That is just not right. Look up UDAAP. It is a Federal law used primarily in the financial industry. It means: ""Unfair, Deceptive, Abusive, Acts and Practices"". It really should apply to ALL business' (contractors and car dealers are some of the worst offenders). Hope this helps.

I was trying to replace a bathtub faucet cartridge, and, in the process, the old cartridge broke. After trying all that I could do with the tools that I had, I went on Thumbtack to see if I could get help. I was in way too deep to stop and couldn't turn back on the water to my house without it spraying all over the bathroom. Elias reached out within minutes of me putting the job on Thumbtack. He said he could arrive in approx. 20 minutes, and he quoted me a reasonable price for the job. He arrived promptly and explained to me the step I was missing with trying to do the job on my own. I appreciated him taking the time to do that. I have already recommended him to my friends and will use his services again, if I need something done.

I found PoPo thru Thumbtack, after getting cancelled and turned down for 10 by 10 other businesses that Thumbtack and TaskRabbit provided. My job needing done was to remove RV AC unit on 8 ft roof. Just that. But as soon as the other taskers saw what they had to do in my appointment booking description, they cancelled my appt. Part of the reason was, they were only one person, and I said it was heavy 100 - 125 lbs, might need two people to take it down.
Not only did PoPo show up to do the job, they came the same day that I called and made appt with Thumbtack, but the appt was 6 pm. It as dark.
Elias came with his best friend. Elias says about two people showing up, ""Always"". They were from Greece and spoke Greek to each other. The best friend doesn't speak English.
The best friend was the only one who unscrewed the RV AC, while Elias was sitting in their mini van and was on the phone.
The friend handed the AC unit to Elias later standing on the ladder they brought (very study and appropriate), and it was brought down and put in the alley.
It took only 30 minutes to do, and I agreed to be charge for 1 hour which is $60.
I am so happy I got this done and out of the way, been on my mind for months to remove the RV AC. I am replacing it with a fan, which I didn't order till the night they removed the AC, cos I didn't wanna waste the 30 day return window, waiting for someone to show up to remove my RV AC. Someone I camp with said they would install the fan for me for free. If I had it, I coulda used the other 30 min that was left to have Elias best friend do it.
I will hire them again for a future job. They advertised themselves and plumber and ""handyman"".
I am a senior solo who doesn't have a ""honey do"".

Elias is a nice young man trained as a plumber in Greece 13 years ago. Responded quickly, did excellent work installing a garbage disposer. All on a Saturday afternoon.
