Expensive. I have been a loyal customer of Pond's for over 25 years. I recently had installed two 50 gallon Rheem Classic Professional residential water heaters. They charged me a 'flat rate' for this work. The flat rate assumed that there were needed updates in bringing to code any issues such as repiping, replacing old installations, installing earth quake strapping and etc. Pond's previously installed 6.5 years ago two 50 gallon Rheem Classic Professional water heaters and Pond's had all ready addressed any issue for code requirements. Yet they still used 'flat rate pricing' and it is easy to over charged using this method. I further looked into it and became even more frustrated as a loyal customer to discover that I could purchase these same water heaters online saving $2,000 and paid a licensed plumber to install. Suggestions for future customers, have an onsite bid and ask the following: 1. What does 'flat rate' charges include? 2. What is needed for updates to code requirements as 'flat rate assumptions' suggest there are needed 'extra expenses' to bring you to a current code status? 3. What equipment is needed and what equipment could alternately buy purchased?

For example, I could possible have saved another $1,000 by purchasing one 100 Gallon Rheem Classic Professional residential water heater over the purchase of two 50 gallon water heaters. I paid more for two smaller units compared to buy one larger unit. My bad!

Frustrating when as a loyal customer is treated like a loyal customer.

This company is outstanding. Pond's has done plumbing, heating and AC work for us. They were able to help me get my garage temperature controlled for my classic cars by installing a mini split and AprilAire humidity control system. We had a problem with a leak in a plumbing fixture over a year after they installed the system. Travis came to my house within hours, fixed the problem himself and Pond's offered to pay for the drywall repairs in the area of the leak without me even asking. That is how you do business. What matters the most is how you take care of a problem and this company clearly stands behind their work. I would highly recommend them and will be using Pond's for all our plumbing, heating and AC needs.

I am SO glad that Jerry is the technician who came to repair a problem faucet on our patio. It was not a simple ""unscrew the bad faucet and put on a new one"" and Jerry knew exactly what to do, including cutting into the ceiling to access the failed unit and he did an amazing job! He clearly has the kind of experience you want every technician to have and his calm approach was so reassuring. If you have a plumbing issue, large or small, call Pond's, they'll send someone (Jerry, if you're lucky) and Bob's your uncle!

Our AC went out this summer and they were called for our second opinion/quote and boy are we god we did! The first company said we needed a new one and immediately tried selling us their Cadillac system. Ponds came out, said we just needed a new coil and it still had plenty of years left in it. Wow - an honest contractor! While they were here we had them tune up our furnace. This winter when we actually started using it, we noticed a vibration. Ponds came out and fixed it for the price of the part -$9! This is a honest company with friendly, reliable technicians that always kept us up to date with their arrival time. I will use them for life!

I called on a Friday night at 7:00 because of a sprinkling system leak at a friend's rental in Bountiful. The answering service transferred me to Logan who dropped everything to drive out and save the day by finding the water valve and turning it off. Thanks Logan!

Our water filter needed to be changed. We watched YouTube videos and tried our hand. That's when things went south. We couldn't get the filter system to seal. We faced Super Bowl Sunday with no water. A call to ponds and we had the help we needed within minutes. We purchased our water heater an filtration system from Ponds. We'll keep our plumbing needs in their court. They are kind, responsive and smart. Thanks Steven Snowball !!!

These people are great. I had an issue with my radiant heating, and it took a few tries to get the problem licked, but every tech I dealt with was very professional and kind. They came to my home promptly, multiple times, and get the issues resolved. They did a few extras for me, and I really feel they went above and beyond for me and my family. They have EARNED my business for life.

After having another plumbing company give me an estimate this morning I didn't feel comfortable. I decided to stop into Pond's Plumbing for a second opinion. I was greeted immediately and the estimate from pictures was about a third of the competitors estimate. Furthermore, it also included a garbage disposal with installation. If that wasn't good enough, they showed up a few hours later to install it. I will definitely call them next time I need any plumbing or heating work.

My tankless water heater was leaking and I caught it immediately so I called the manufacturer and they recommended some local plumbers who sell and work on this particular model. Pond's was first on the list so I chose them. Called them and they said Plumber would be out in a couple of hours.... no show. Called again and they said the next day.

He asked me several questions about how much I know about the model of water heater and what my occupation was and confirmed that I don't know much about doing these types of repairs.

He found the leak and quoted me the repair would take about 3-4 hours and cost about $410, but if I sign up for biannual maintenance ($400/year) then I get a discount so repair would be $375.
I said I would talk with my wife about it.

To make a longer story short, I ordered the part ($38.50) and did the repair in less than five minutes. Saving: $371.50.

I don't know why this guy costs so much and takes so long to do such a simple repair... Or maybe he wasn't being totally honest. I'll let you decide.

The faucet and the disposal in my kitchen had to be replaced. I called Pond's in Bountiful to keep my business local. I had been satisfied with Pond's in the past. Reasonable prices, fast and friendly service.

When I called to make an appointment, I asked how much I could expect to pay for this easy, standard job, but was told they couldn't say.

The plumber arrived punctually the next day and after a brief inspection of the job at hand, quoted a price of $444, inclusive the $75 fee for the estimate.

I found the price extremely high given the straight forward nature of the job. It took the plumber 1 1/2 hours. He did a good job. He deserves 5 stars.

However, I wish I had known ahead of time what it would cost to replace both items. A ballpark price would have been acceptable too. Then, I would have had a choice whether or not to hire Pond's for the job. Most companies give free estimates. In this case, I was stuck. I would either lose $75 just for knowing how much I would have to pay or I had to accept this, in my opinion, overpriced offer.
