Michael Phillips is a Fifth generation plumbing professional. He has dedicated his life involved with his kin in the plumbing and construction industries in Florida since he could first walk. He literally consistently joined service calls with his dad starting at age four. Michael's direct relatives includes over sixteen or more plumbers & nine or more plumbing/general contractors in the Central and South Florida areas dating back to the late 1800s. The Phillips lineage has contributed in plumbing, construction & construction materials that have played a role in creating what we now call Miami Beach commonly called ""South Beach"", North Miami, North Miami Beach, and many other locations like greater Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County and Polk County areas.

Michael's ancestor William S. ""Snooky"" Phillips started ""Miami Plumbing & Heating"" in 1899 in Miami, Florida. His parent participated in construction & early plumbing systems in the mid to late 1800s. Although little more is factually known about him aside from that, family history holds he was involved in construction and plumbing, serving under railroad tycoon Henry Flagler. He is considered one of the first plumbing contractors in Florida to be granted a plumbing contractor's license by Dade County, because of his ancestor's supposed affiliation with Henry Flagler & the fact that at that time little or no regulation or plumbing code at any level of government existed. In those days the contractor's licensing occurred at the county level and not at the state level like it is now. For Michael's family, the term ""Grandfathered Status"" has a real significance.
