After spending over $500, they were going to charge me 12 thousand dollars when my only toilet was clogged because the only way to fix it was to dig up my yard. I got a second opinion by plumbing by Fisher. It cost me $700 without digging up anything. I can't believe how dishonest this company is. Shame on you!
do not use this company. They are crooks and use technicians that lack basic skills to evaluate or complete work. They gave me a recommended work list that didn't even make since. charging 1000 to replace ac contactor, capacitor, and blower motor (which my ac unit doesn't have). 3000 for a new a coil, with an additional 300 charge for a leak test. Recommended a new Furnace because supposedly this blower motor was out too. They are thieves.
Jordan C., I'm not sure who you are but you are either uninformed or a liar. (Yes, I said that)
If you represent Polestar, give me a call and schedule a visit to my house.
If the damage to my walls (pics that I shared) is in a location that your guys didn't access, I'll give you a signed blank check ($$).
Your reply makes Polestar look worse than my initial review. Never trust a liar.
I wouldn't recommend Plumbing services. They came at my home to fix frozen pipes and they start doing the service before give us any estimates. They burned my trim faucet and left my house saying the pipes were not frozen anymore but my faucet would need a new piece to work again. They charged us $285 for defrosting the ice and told us that would return 2 days after to fix the rest. 4 days after the temperatures outside got warmer and guess what? My shower was working again without any repair. The pipes weren't defrost by them and they never came back to fix my trim faucet. I called to the manager twice to ask my money back and they just don't want to solve this issue. Take my advice. Don't take their service. The worst customer management.
calle this company to come and install a water heater and check why i wasn't getting hot water. a guy came and gave an estimate, then scheduled for a tech to come out. the tech installed the water heater, but never checked to see if the heating element was out or what the problem could be. he said that since it was not their product he couldn't work on it. This was never disclosed to us, and they charged me $300.00 for basically nothing. Now i have to call a real plumbing company to come do the job that this company should have done. This is beyond ridiculous and very dishonest on their part. I want my money back and will never refer anyone to this company for service. They should have told me in the beginning that they will not work on heaters that do not come from them. They are stealing peoples hard earned money by doing so. i am going to report this to the better business bureau for them ripping ppl off and not disclosing this important information about if it's not their product they will do nothing.
Lauren A.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The google reviews are FAKE. They have hundreds of fake 5 star reviews on google. If you click on the person who wrote the five star reviews many writers aren't even located in Kansas or Missouri. Anyway, they came out to quote our HVAC replacement. They tried to offer us a quote that included a rebate that may or may not be real. They continually tried to pressure us to use them and were texting us late at night. Then after refusing they sent us a request for a fake 5 star review for a chance to win a fake gift card. This company is built on scams. Find another company.
Dan W.As an engineer I can not and will not recommend this company. They are a complete fly by night outfit. They were recommended by someone I knew and it was a mistake on my part. Do yourself a favor and go with a reputable company. BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!
Kenton Z.Terrible. First technician said there was a leak in the compressor but didn't do any diagnostic tests to confirm the compressor was the culprit and still recommended replacing entire unit anyways. Second technician, who stated he was a senior technician, was sent the next day to do a proper complete diagnosis and was able to locate a hole in an exchange pipe, therefore the compressor was not broken and didn't need to be replaced. Despite claiming to be a senior technician, he tried to tell me that water condensation on one of the pipes was oil (it was obviously water) and dust/dirt on the underside of the fan was oil as well (but was clearly dirt), and also recommended replacing the entire system and claimed it was against company policy to weld the hole closed. Bottom line, no matter how small the problem was, they tried to make things up to sell me an entire unit/system. Even the sales rep tried to give me a ""great deal"" by selling me a 5 year old unit that he claimed was in perfect condition and had never been used but when questioned further back-pedaled and said it was previously installed but only used for a short time. The entire company will lie in order to sell you something you don't need. A different company was hired, hole was welded closed, refrigerant added and A/C now works.
These folks are all nice on the telephone and in person BUT........
We had a clogged sink, they came and got it to drain but two days later the same drain was stopped up, they didn't go far enough to successfully clean it out. I had to call them back and this time they went far enough into the system to clean it out.
They also tried to sell me a new garbage disposal plus installation. Our disposal works just fine, it's top of the line and only a couple years old. This was in August and the drain and disposal are OK since. Unlike some of their competitors we were double charged for the same drain clog.
Other plumbers in the area advertise, ""IF we have to come back we will not charge you again for the same problem""
As said these guys charge every time they come even though they did not do the job right. I should have read the reviews before I called them and I will say this, check their reviews before you call them. They are graded from one to some fives so I guess they do good some times and sometimes not so good.
I will also suggest you talk to more than one of them because I received two different prices before they came out.
Worst experience ever! Do not hire these guys!!Danny the field supervisor is absolutely horrible. He misdiagnosed the problem on a Wednesday, and then instead of just admitting to the error and giving us a new estimate he kept arguing with us and his crew that at any moment the pipe was going to turn and go out the front of the house. He continued to argue this even when we were all telling him that it was almost to the wall out back. Mind you he did all this arguing without ever showing back up to the house. He told us 9-10 times over the course of the job that he would be over later that day, early the next morning, etc and never showed up and never called to say he wasn't going to show up. And he NEVER provided us a bill.
I called and complained the following Monday about his argumentative attitude, lack of showing up, respect for our time, and lack of billing. I spoke to Nathan (the service manager) who assured me he would take care of and correct everything. That did not happen at all, Danny kept not showing up, not providing a bill and arguing with us and his crew that we were all wrong and we needed to do twice the work that was required. Even though we could clearly see on the video that the pipes outside in the backyard were fine.
With this I called again to speak to a manager, I was told they were all in a meeting and would call me back shortly. No one ever called. So several hours later I made a lengthy comment on their Facebook page hoping to get someones attention and a phone call back. Nothing, they could not be bothered to respond.
So I showed up, surprise spur of the moment visit, at their office the next morning to speak to them in person. I spoke again to Nathan and to Steve (Marketing Manager)At this point they started taking me seriously and sent out a new field supervisor and sent us a bill later on. An hour after that meeting I went on Facebook to remove my post, as it had not accomplished its task and I felt my visit did. But to my surprise it had been deleted by the company! My guess would be Steve. This is shady and shows a huge lack of integrity. We would never do that in my business, you respond you don't delete!
I then thought all went well. The rest of the guys were great, but as it turned out they are not good at their job. When the general contractor showed up to do his work they found Polestar's work to be beyond shoddy. Lines are not level, they are not all placed the same, there are no shut off valves for the bathroom plumbing and the drain for the bathtub was not only not deep enough it was not installed correctly and cemented too close. The contractor had to call another plumber and it took them 5 hours to get a fix in place. This required digging out cement and then doing some crazy plumbing to avoid having to rip the whole thing out and redoing it. They also found lines that were starting to leak slightly and repaired those. Mind you Polestar just finished this work 3-4 weeks before the contractor discovered the issues.
They also installed a sewer clean out so incorrectly that it is not flush with the wall, and can not be covered with a wall utility door because that would make the hall legally too narrow. The only way to correct this is to tear it out, jack the floor back up, tear out some of that piping, replace it all correctly and re-cement and re-dry wall. Can't afford that after all the other expenses.
Both gentlemen (the contractor and other plumber) and our project manager (all separate companies and not connected to each other in anyway) said it was some of the sloppiest, shoddiest work they had seen in a long time, and mentioned that they would never contract with Polestar based on the job they did for us.
Fingers crossed they did a better job on all the sewer piping they cemented over or we will be leaking again in no time. Wish I could add photos to show the work here
Polestar made a bad experience (sewer in the basement) 100 times worse with their lack of integrity, respect, billing, horrible customer service and shoddy work. Save your money, time and headaches and hire anyone but Polestar.
