Tony Ponton started Plumbing Unlimited with his parent selling plumbing materials to homeowners. He provided hard-to-find supplies and helped homeowners with self-service plumbing tasks, but when homeowners found themselves in a plumbing situation, they would contact Tony to come out and resolve it for them. In 1998, he decided to shut down the store and revert to what he was passionate about—plumbing—full time. Today, he is training a new generation, his nephew John. John just obtained his Journeyman certification, and is advancing to his Master status.

Tony has been and worked in the community for exceeding 50 years. He graduated from Indian River High School in Chesapeake and studied at Old Dominion University for some time. He entered plumbing when he was 12 years old, assisting summers for his father's company, Coastal Plumbing.
