My Kenmore water heater stopped working. I asked Plumbing the Bay if they had parts for a Kenmore water heater but they would not tell me. They said a serviceman would have to come out to give me an estimate.
When they came out, they said that they can't fix Kenmores, they can only replace them. If I was told upfront that they couldn't fix a Kenmore water heater, I would never have set up the appointment. So now I am out $79 for a useless service call. Even worse, they quoted a price of over $4000 to install a new water heater, which I believe is twice what it should cost. I asked that they refund the $79 service charge, but I haven't heard back. The required part was under warranty, so it only cost me less than $300 to have it repaired.

I had a gas leak that PGE found and locked my gas meter. I had a few Plumbing companies give me estimates but I went with Plumbing the Bay because Juan was the most informative and went out of his way to detect the leak. I did have to have the gas line changed in the end but the quote was the same as the other companies after Juan spent the day trying to just fix it rather than replace. He did excellent work in a timely manner and went above and beyond. I highly recommend Juan with Plumbing the Bay.

The guys from Plumbing the bay were great genuinely good good people and did great work in a short time can't go wrong with these guys I would recommend them for any Plumbing issues you have professional reasonably priced and easy to deal with thank you guys for your help and your work appreciate it

I called Plumbing the Bay after noticing that one of our bathtubs was draining water out of the side of the house. They sent someone out just a few hours later which was much appreciated! Juan was professional and courteous and helped us identify the part of the tub that was leaking (turns out it wasn't the drain, it was the overflow part of the tub!) and found where the leak was starting to cause significant water damage in a closet in our garage full of photo albums and personal mementos! He figured out the issue, explained the situation clearly, and recommended a cost-effective fix for the overflow drain. He repaired it on site that afternoon and thankfully that fixed the water leaking out of the house, avoiding what we assumed would have been a much more costly and time-intensive repair. I am so happy that we were able to get it fixed that same day and thank you Juan for your great work!

An excellent company, responsive, fully staying within the original very fair and reasonable estimate in spite of the need to make several visits. Job accomplished, better than I hoped, by personal and helpful workers. Freely explaining and giving advice, I immediately trusted the crew. I was never disappointed. In spite of a part delay held to the original bid for several months, awaiting full completion of the job before even asking for a deposit. These are reliable professional people, extremely decent, honest, friendly and supportive. Such a relief to find them. They will do any next project I may need without hesitation. Thank you all from the office to the workers I am very pleased by our interaction.

My recently purchased Alameda home had flooding during the storms in January. It was clear that we needed a sump pump for the ground level area of our home to avoid the water coming inside the next big storm. I called Plumbing the Bay and was able to have someone come out to assess what I needed within the week. The dispatchers were very professional and communicative, letting me know who to expect and when. Ivan came to assess and then later to install my sump pump. He and one other technician showed up the morning of the install, on time and finished ahead of schedule. I am very pleased with the work and the professionalism of everyone I dealt with at Plumbing the Bay. I would highly recommend them!

I do not believe in yelp reviews anymore. All review provided here doesn't align with my view of the job performed by Josef.
My experience with Joseph is very, very unpleasant.
He is very unprofessional, doesn't return many calls, and never keeps his promises on the work he performs.

-(Very unprofessional, didn't return many many calls over three months of stringing me along, unable to have employees show up for job, and at the end threatened me without every doing any work)
Where to start, Joseph (the owner) was recommended to me by another plumber for a non-urgent repiping job.
-(Mid-March) He had an employee come out to scope the job who told me they could do the job and Joseph would be in touch re pricing and scheduling.
-A week goes by with no contact, I reach out to Joseph who doesn't respond.
-A week later, I follow up again since no response and Joseph tells me he needs to come out personally to see.
-March 29, he comes out and quotes me 10k for the job, I agree and ask him to schedule it.
-Over the next month I follow up to Joseph and his office and each time am told personally by Joseph that I am ""calendared in,"" and he's just away from his desk and needs to look when he gets back and will call me back. He does not.
-It's now Late April and I am still following up. Joseph does not respond to my many texts and -when I do catch him on the phone he saying I was calendared but gives a bevy of excuses. Some highlights:
-Crew didn't show up for work.
-Crew Moved to Washington.
-Crew moved to Peru
-I continue to follow up via texts/calls receiving no responses/more excuses.
-Finally, three months later (June 21) he says he found someone named Michael from his company who is going to do the job but needs to come out again.
-Michael comes out and totally unfamiliar with the job, says parts of the job are not possible and forgets that installation of a Sump Pump was part of the quoted price. Michael also mumbles under his breath about changing the price and that he would have to re-negotiate with Joseph.
-I ask Michael when he is able to do the job given it has been three months, he mumbles Saturday or Sunday. I ask which Saturday or Sunday and he says he doesn't know what day, he'd have to check with Joseph.
-I ask if it could be a day other than Saturday or Sunday, and he says it's not possible because he works for another company/job during the week and tells me that my young kids can just ""not go to the bathroom all day for two days.""
-I call Joseph and express my disappointment and that I am happy to have the job actually calendared and it can be very far out and I would just like a date and am open to Saturday or Sunday if that is all that's possible.
-He says ""he'd have to check with Michael and would give me a call back, and to stop talking to him right now or ""bad things"" are going to happen.""
-He didn't even have the courtesy to call or text back. He had his assistant text me on his behalf that he would no longer be willing to do the job.

Josef and his team are absolute the best. Always available and does the job the right way on a budget. I used them for my commercial large jobs. And now my personal brand new house. Wish every vendor/builder was like this!!!

PLUMBING THE BAY sucks! Theycharged my tenants $530 for 30 minutes work. Replacing a shower head and installing a $1 clamp to secure a loose water pipe. The tech was supposed to arrrive 2-4pm, and showed up at 6:30pm. The PTB technician said the owner Dimitri had lost 3 commercial accounts due to mismanagement, and I've ordered my property manager to never use them again.
