Company Overview

Our commitment at Plumbing SD is to deliver excellent customer service alongside reliable plumbing services. We handle residential and light commercial projects, but we do not offer drain cleaning.

We install tankless water heaters, traditional tank-style water heaters, and address gas leaks through repairs or replacements. We also manage gas and water reroutes, tub valve installations or replacements, faucet installations, reverse osmosis systems, and whole house filtration systems. Additionally, we handle washer and dryer hookups, kitchen and bathroom remodels, and new additions. City inspections pose no challenge for our experienced team.

I established this business in October 2010, motivated by the recent recession. I wish I had taken this step earlier. I underwent a five-year union plumbing apprenticeship in California and became a licensed journeyman plumber. During the recession of the 1990s, I had to exit the union. I moved to non-union work for consistent employment and have continued in plumbing ever since.

I can't say enough good words about Eddie Caraza, owner of Plumbing SD. He's perhaps the most professional and thorough contractor I have ever hired... and I've hired a lot of contractors! He's all about the quality of his work and while on the job, he'll point out plumbing, gas, and piping issues that will become bigger issues in the future if not addressed at some point.
I had a rental that had gas pipe leaks and SDGE shut off the gas and locked the meter. I called an unscrupulous plumber and he said that it's like playing whack a mole trying to find a leak and that I should replace everything to the tune of thousands. He replaced one small section of gas pipe without my go ahead, and charged me an outrageous amount for doing so. Inspector came back, tested the meter pressure and it failed. Nothing but a waste of money for another flop.

Luckily for me, I didn't hire that ripoff plumber ever again. Instead, I found Eddie Caraza through a friend and and asked Eddie to check out the gas line problem so I could have the meter inspected and turned on again. Bear in mind, I'm 3000 miles away and not there to supervise or see the work. Eddie went to the house and assessed the situation, then called and texted me photos of the problems. Within, fifteen minutes, I had a professional estimate hat was extremely fair in price. He not only found and replaced all the bad joints and gas lines, but also noticed the sewer pipes to the house were the wrong size and not to code. He asked if we'd had sewer backup issues and I said there were many backups, so he offered to replace those sewage pipes at a nominal fee, so that we wouldn't keep having backups. Not only did he do a beautiful job replacing dangerously bad gas lines, but he also stopped the sewage backup issues at the house. I really appreciated that gesture and haven't had any problems since he was there.

Eddie not only will fix a problem and do the job right the first time, but he's always on time, incredibly polite, and he's come to my aide many times, even for last minute calls. I can count on him to take care of an issue, even if I'm out of the country. He's always been reliable and a genuinely nice guy that takes care of of the headaches so you don't have to worry.

If you want someone to fix a gas problem, whether it's the meter, heating system, a leak, installing a gas appliance or a hot water tank, Eddie's your man! As much as I don't want to have to wait in line because my review helped land Eddie lots of new customers, I'm always happy to share contractors who are truly the real deal. You don't get any better than Plumbing SD!

Eddie of SD Plumbing is great at what he does. we had eddie on the job site to create our master bathroom as custom as it gets. he relocated the toilet re plumbed all lines with cooper, he did a maticulous job. he also installed and plumbed our cast iron claw foot tub and created a spa like environment in my husband sit down shower with the water fall shower from the ceiling by hansgrohe. we trust eddie with all our plumbing needs and you should too. this man acts with integrity, and will only do the appropriate plumbing. why go with the white glove guys, eddie has the plumbing trade down to a science and his recommendations are always the right way to go For all your home and business plumbing needs call Eddie at SD plumbing, he answers his phone and does not make ""i'm too busy appointments."" he will come to your home as soon as his schedule permits. thank you Eddie for all you have done to keep our home well plumbed. we are waiting to replace the water heater whenever it goes.

YOUR GOD GIVEN TALENT BUILDS CHARACTER AND LEAVES YOUR BRAND IN EVERYONES HOME AS YOUR TRUSTING SPIRIT MATCHES WORK ETHIC.

I had Eddie come out to trench and install a gas line for my firepit as well as replace a broken garbage disposal. Initially the experience with Eddie was great - good communication, fair pricing, respectful, and kind. Gas line work seem good, no problems that I know of thus far.

Garbage disposal is a different story. First of all, he was supposed to install a 3/4HP, but installed a 1/2HP instead. However, he did lower the price to compensate the difference in materials. A few weeks later I noticed a foul smell and realized it had been leaking and fortunately it was contained in a cabinet liner (I highly recommend everyone having one). Here's where it went bad - I contacted Eddie multiple times with texts, calls, and pictures explaining the issue. Absolutely no response at all. I started to realize he didn't want to accept the responsibility because we did a 'no receipt' transaction. I even tried to probe suggestions on how to fix it myself, no response.

I had to eventually uninstall it and reinstall it and no leaks after.

So caution to everyone - this plumber created a leak, then tried to hide and run away. I hope the gas line he installed doesn't leak. Why 2 stars instead of 1? Because he was the cheapest bid and easy to work with, but you get what you pay for...

Eddie is awesome. He has installed many things at my home. Most recently I had a hair pin leak in the attic over my dinning room table. I called Eddie that morning and he came out that afternoon, located the leak and patched it.

I will continue to use Plumbing SD. I've always had a great experience.

Eddie, owner of Plumbing SD, earns his FIVE STARS--fair and squared. Our neighbor, Don of Shephard Construction, recommended Eddie for repairing our broken sewer line. Like most homeowners, we obtained several quotes and his was the lowest. However, this was not the main reason why we chose to work with him. Our initial instinct was to go with the BIG NAME like Bill Howe Plumbing because we've had good experience with them in the past. However, Bill Howe Plumbing could not give us a quote based on video images of the broken sewer line because a different company took them. Bill Howe Plumbing said that it needed to snake its own camera down the sewer line before it could give us a quote--the cost for these new images would be another $350. Eddie gave us the quote based on the images that we had already paid for. He is very professional, knowledgeable and respectful of our time. He clarifies up front of potential, unforeseen problems such as permit requirement/fees and the depth of sewer line--and how much more it would cost should we encounter them as he digs. He starts and finishes his job time. He kept us well informed every step of the way from start to finish. He listens and takes care of our concern to cover up the hole (while waiting for the inspector) with plywood in addition to the yellow caution tape. He took photos and stated his professional opinion of what caused the problem. He cleanses up well after he finishes the job. He gave all the receipts and photos for our record. We will definitely use his service again. Michelle & Sunny & Sam
