$300 to change a toilet valve kit? They took advantage of a senior citizen. This business is about to tank!

I had a clogged main sewer line that was backing up in the basement and needed help clearing that out. I have no complaints about the service, as they came out the same day and were able to clear out the clog. However, they do not provide any transparency on their pricing and it ended up being considerably more expensive than the other companies I was looking into.

I had called around to get some rough estimates on rodding out a sewer line and had received a couple of options. I tried to get similar information on what the service could cost from Plumbing Pros, but they were not willing to provide any pricing estimate information at all and said it would depend on what they find. I ended up taking the chance with Plumbing Pros in an effort to stay local(they are based right down the street from my house), instead of going with the out-of-town options that provided details on their pricing for different services. I figured that this company had great reviews so their pricing would be similar.

It ended up costing $793 dollars to have my main sewer line rodded with an outside access point which took about an hour and a half total. I followed up the next day for a detailed invoice to see if there were some line items to help explain the quote/higher price. There were no details on the invoice, but I was able to find out that they charge a flat fee for rodding a main sewer line to the street up to 100 feet. I don't understand why this type of information couldn't have been shared when I called and tried to get some pricing details before making my selection if they have flat pricing for different services.

Overall it ended up costing me an extra $250 to try and go with a local Downers Grove company without being provided an pricing details ahead of time. They did good and efficient work, but would prefer some transparency on the pricing ahead of time, especially now that I know how much more it was than the other guys.

I needed to replace my utility sink in the mud room, which would require new pipes and shut off valves. I obtained an estimate from Gary after sending some photos of my job, and the final invoice was right in line with that initial estimate.

I was able to get the work scheduled in a couple days, and the communication was great. I got text message alerts of arrival time window, and who would be coming.

Once the Andrew and Gustavo arrived at my house on the day of the job, they were friendly and went right to work. They wore shoe covers when coming into my house, and they were very knowledgeable and communicated what they needed (like turning on the faucets in my bathrooms when the main water line was shut off).

I had bought the utility sink that I wanted to replace my old one with so Andrew and Gustavo figured out the new piping that needed to be put in, and went the extra mile to make sure that the install of the sink was perfect by stabilizing the sink so it wouldn't be so shaky. The entire job took a little under three hours, and I was very pleased with the craftsmanship. All the work was explained to me. They truly live up to their namesake, Plumbing Pros!

Our Hot water tank broke ( it was 20 years old) , so my husband called Plumbing Pros- they asked my husband to take pictures and they went and picked up a top quality Bradford White Defender safety system. Because my husband took pictures they were able to pick up other supplies and be at our house 4 hours later. Took out the old, installed the new in 2-1/2 hours. Sal is a professional, I appreciate his work style, clean, neat and very organized. Came the day we called! Amazing! Everything was $1800.

Plumber never showed after waiting 3 hours! Said the have Van problems and would be there tomorrow. I called to ask for compensation towards the $70 service fee for having to re-arrange my schedule for another day. The rep started getting nasty saying it wasn't their fault and I could just cancel. I stated I still want the service but should receive something off for waiting soo long plus another day. They offered $5 off and began getting smart saying it's not their fault I have water damage etc... telling me to just hang up and cancel. It was the rudest sassiest man I've ever dealt with in customer service! Don't use this company!

Plumbing Pros was very responsive. The evening we had a water heater go out they talked us through via texting how to shut off the broken heater so we could still get some hot water from the working one. They were out at 9am the next day to take a look and provide a quote. They were priced competitively and easy to schedule with. They ultimately replaced 2 water heaters quickly for us.
