These folks removed and replaced two old toilets.
Excellent all the way. The young man doing the work, Garrett, was delightful, friendly, competent, and punctual. The cleanup was perfect.
The service personnel, including the manager Mike, were extremely helpful leading up to the installation. The price for the models I chose was competitive.


The picture I got from start to finish was that Plumbing Plus would bend over backwards to satisfy the customer.

It's been a while since I've been so impressed.

These guys are great! I could say that's it without an explanation, because they are that good but here's why:

Our plumbing stopped up for the millionth time this year on Saturday morning. The tub was backed up, the toilet's weren't flushing; it was a nightmare. I called Plumbing Plus at 9am and asked if they could come out and fix my problem. The guy who answered said they had one person working and could get someone out between 3 and 5pm that day. I said, ""Between 3 and 5pm? I won't be able to use my toilets all day."" Well, let me tell you. I could hear him tapping his pen or pencil in the background and then he said he could get someone out to us by 11am. I thanked him and began the waiting process.

Guess what time Chris, the plumber showed up........9:40am. Forty minutes after my call. Is that customer service or what. So Chris started the what to do conversation with my husband and ended it by suggesting he get the immediate problem fixed and setup a meeting for next week to resolve the bigger issue. Fine by me.

Now to have the pipes scoped, do some digging, and replace our pipes.

I first contacted Plumbing Plus because they were listed on the Noritz website as an authorized installer of tankless hot water heaters, and I was looking for options to address hard water problems. I was expecting a return email asking me to call, (which happened with one plumbing company), or minimal information. I was pleasantly surprised when I promptly received from their service manager, Randy Porter, a lengthy and detailed email explaining various options, the pros and cons of each, and the approximate cost. I had other questions, which were also promptly (and thoroughly) answered. My skepticism in the product, (Flow-Tech Home system), was obvious, yet Randy patiently provided a great deal of information, and then referred me to the product representative to answer questions for which he did not have the answer. Long story short, my questions were answered, and I decided to go forward with the installation.

This afternoon the plumber, Garrett, arrived on time, explained the process in detail, and completed the installation. He was pleasant and professional, (perhaps one of the best plumbers I've hired), and he did an exceptional job on the project, cleaning up and answering all my questions before he left.

I've hired a number of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. over the years; very few were truly concerned about the quality of their work. My experience with Plumbing Plus, and in particular, Randy and Garrett, was one of the best I've had with any trade, and I wouldn't hesitate to use (or recommend) them again.

I did not compare prices with other plumbing companies, but based an estimate that was given to me by a plumber from another company, Plumbing Plus was more expensive, but certainly in the same general range. Given the quality of their service, (which I'm assuming will be the same if I need a follow-up), the difference is reasonable. I'm still skeptical of the product, (and believe it's over-priced), but I'm optimistic that it will do what it was sold to do.

Ok...if you own a home, having a quality San Diego plumber that you trust is not an option. Plumbing Plus is your plumber. I have a old home in North Park, and the plumbing is older than my grandmother. I know that when I call Plumbing Plus for a drain cleaning, minor repair, or major remodel that they will give me the best price, best parts, and highest quality of service. Call them first.

I needed to have the gas line, for the stove top, moved for our kitchen remodel. The pipe needed to be behind the wall so I called Plumbing Plus and made an appointment for the next day. The plumber, Robert, had the materials on the truck so he gave me a quote and did the job. The quote seemed kind of high and was surprised that they didn't put on a new shut off valve. I was left with a half inch NPT cap. Stubbed out as they say. It made sense not to put on a valve without it hooked up to something for safety reasons. The valve could get accidentally bumped open. They ended up giving me a valve for me to put on when the stove top is ready to be installed. They are easy to work with and Robert did a great job moving the pipe. Will use again.

I did get a refund from Mike, so I ended up paying the secret nominal 40 visit fee. Because they were professional and had a strong desire to make the situation right I put them up to 4 stars. Having solid management makes that's has a desire things make right in a quick manner really goes a long way at showing how well a company operates.

Stay away from this plumber. They will rip you off and do a lousy job. When you contact them to fix the problem they ignore you.

We discovered Plumbing Plus because they do plumbing and warranty work for Remodel Works in Poway. We had a hall bathroom remodel completed December 18th and on Christmas Day while using our washing machine located in the garage and sharing a drain line with the new toilet it began gurgling and backed up. The first plumber deployed was Larry who snaked the lines and investigated the problem. Unfortunately,subsequent laundry caused the situation to repeat and he came out again and addressed the plumbing from the drain area around the washing machine. The third time, Robert came out ,yesterday and after filling the sink and flushing the toilet he went out to the front of the house and discovered our main was flooded. He noted the new City installed sewer outlet cover and freshly poured concrete on the sidewalk. He ran a camera down our main and discovered that roots at the point the City tied into our pipes were the culprit. We will be pursuing this with the City. He was exceptionally thorough and did an outstanding job! The issue had absolutely nothing to do with our new remodel. It was totally a coincidence. We also found their dispatch personnel was excellent. Very responsive and quick!! Overall, we are totally satisfied with Plumbing Plus and highly recommend them. Thank you!

I had Plumbing Plus repair a cold water slab leak, which required re-routing a line through the attic from a wall in our bathroom to a wall in our kitchen.

They used a leak detection service (which billed me separately) that found the exact location of the leak and pinpointed the start and end points for the re-route. So far so good.

The quality of the job was fine, and the plumber they sent (Robert) was courteous and competent, but they would only quote the job as a fixed price of $1660, which did not include repairing the drywall. Since our water was shut off and I was already into the job for $180 for the truck roll, I approved the work. In addition to signing the work order, I was also asked to sign a form requiring me to pay them in full once they started work, which appeared to waive some rights that I have as a Consumer in California. I asked the plumber to explain what rights I was waiving, and when he could not, I refused to sign the form.

I was also surprised that rather than using copper pipe (which is used throughout my house), Plumbing Plus wanted to use PEX, which is a high tech plastic pipe. Before I authorized the work, I Googled PEX and found positive reviews from plumbers and house builders. Its also less expensive than copper, and less time consuming to install, both of which worked to Plumbing Plus' advantage in their per job pricing.

Plumbing Plus was on-site at my house for less than 6 hours, which included a trip the plumber took to Escondido to pick up materials that were not in his truck and to have lunch. I was shocked that it took so little time, and the plumber took pity on me and reduced the bill to $1450. If materials were $100 (very conservative for 40 ft of PEX tubing, two PEX fittings, and a few copper pieces), that worked out to $225/hour.

If they and come with the materials they needed, it would have knocked an hour off the job, and the rate would have equated to $270/hour.

In summary, the quality of the work and service was good, but the pricing was crazy high. They pushed me to a plastic pipe system that I probably cannot maintain as a DIY project in the future, and I don't know what to think of the shenanigans asking me to waive my consumer rights. I'll try someone else next time.
