Company Overview

Nerdy Plumbing Solutions provides Naples through top-notch plumbing solutions. With a complete satisfaction promise and our Upfront Price Guarantee, our team are prepared to assist you with all your plumbing needs.

Our company is the latest iteration of the plumbing and cooling company founded by our CEO, John Verhoff after relocating to Florida's Gulf Coast in the year 2007. In the beginning, he focused on building projects. Yet, after surviving the recession, he came to see that working for contractors didn't provide control over his operations as he desired.

In 2012, Verhoff shifted his focus to home service exclusively, initially collaborating with a friend on a company that had locations in the state of Florida and two additional states. After he took over his partner on the Florida part of the operation in 2016 AD, he needed a new name and image. That's how the creation of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds emerged.

Our team is proud on offering “innovative home services” that are “delivered with passion and knowledge.”

Greetings, I'm John Verhoff of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds. I've been passionate to home services since my teenage years, and I'm devoted on providing the highest level of service to my customers.

Upon starting Plumbing Nerds in 2007, I recognized a need for a better focus on customer service to plumbing services. We're guided by our purpose to “change the way the world views skilled trades,” which means offering innovative and efficient solutions to common plumbing issues. We also teach homeowners about their plumbing and air conditioning systems and offer solutions that best suit their preferences.

We appreciate your interest for choosing Plumbing & Cooling Nerds for your plumbing needs. I hope we can improve the way you perceive a skilled tradesperson.

Our toilet started leaking around the seal and backed up into the bathtub in the middle of tropical storm/hurricane Debby. They had Sebastian Moceri at our house within an hour of my calling. Fair pricing and knowledgeable. Definitely would Use them again and refer them

Don't use this company. They're quick """"to come to the rescue"""", give a low quote ($630) and """"start"""" the job, but they don't finish it. We had to pay them half ($330) of the quoted price just to get a new appointment for them to return and finish the job. Two days later, their employee returned late in the day, but couldn't start working until he called the office for the """"new"""" quote ($3800) in order to complete the same job. Warning to all: This company is not reputable and are scam artists.

I used to be able to fix or repair anything. 42 years auto master tech. Now handicapped I have to rely on paid """"Pros"""" to do repairs. I called plumbing nerds for an estimate to replace a leaky tub faucet. By my est this would take 2 hours. They gave me an estimate for $1289 to replace this faucet. I have learned that Naples is saturated with crooks that think everyone here is dumb n rich. When i asked what that covered I was told """"replace the faucet"""". They run lots of commercials n have new trucks. Guess they have to pay for that somehow. Good luck. I just said NO.

Where do I begin. The people from Plumbing Nerds have been at my home a few times. They put in a new water filter for my home years ago. As time goes on I had them come for various things. Due to random black in my water, Plumbing Nerds insisted that I had to have my whole house repiped. I have since learned they were wrong. The issue was a defective water pressure tank, leaking black randomly throughout the house and water filters Again, no overhaul needed to the pipes- omitting a costly $8,000.00 dollar job that wasn't necessary. But my worst experience was when they came for two reasons; one to inspect a hot water tank to determine it was properly installed for a new insurance company. Plumbing Nerds put the cost of this at $895.00 just to make that determination. I ended up paying nothing. I also wanted to replace a valve in my shower. The concern I had was that I didn't want to damage the dated tile in the bathroom. For this task they wanted $1,400.00 and couldn't guarantee they wouldn't damage the tile. When a friend called during their visit, he insisted that I not use them due to the excessive pricing. I eventually had a decent plumber come through. Not only did he charge me only $415.00, he replaced the valve by going through the wall from another room. What a concept...

Terrible experience. i made an appointment five days in advance of today, i explicitly explained what we needed done, repair to an ice maker. I was told this could be done. I was then contacted and told they could not make the appointment after our tenants has waited five hours to have someone show up today. When i told them we needed them to come today, i was then told they really do not repair ice makers. So, either the rep i spoke to today is lying to me about service or the intake person did. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Honest trust worthy company. Our tech Jeff was on point with his updates. I was impressed he showed up on time and ready to work. He explained what was going on with my hot water heater and had it fixed in no time. He was extremely professional and respectful and now days that goes a long way. I will definitely use plumbing nerds in the future!

I will say at the beginning I was very impressed with the professional response I received. they were very good at coming out quickly and then it all went down hill. my impression was they were there to sell me whatever service they could think up. then the prices quoted were so high I basically said they could leave as it was ridiculous. to clean out a main drain $4000 when the common charge is closer to $450-550. camera service for the toile was over $1000 when it is normally $525. they wasted their time and mine!!!!

If you're way too lazy to shop around and are OK with paying five times more than what you should pay for any given job, and if you're OK with being constantly upsold, then go ahead and give these guys a call. Or you can just call almost literally anyone else and save 80% from what these people will charge you. Definitely do not recommend.

I had a high water bill and call the Plumbing Nerds. It was a bad flapper in one toilet. It was recommended that I replace both toilets for about $1500, or just the insides or just the flappers. Replacing the two flappers was $306. I said that it was too expensive. He told me that he is a certified, licensed plumber and is worth this fee. I bought two flappers online for $20 and replaced them in about 15 minutes. I bought two flappers online for $20 and replaced them in about 15 minutes.

Do not use if you are planning to make an insurance claim! My water heater was damaged after Hurricane Ian. I called the Plumbing Nerds to replace it on a Friday (having used them successfully before) and they came out on Saturday to take a look. They gave me a quote which was expensive but, I assumed, reasonable, given the size/type of water heater (80Gal Rheem Professional), the work involved (new stand, new WH, updated piping, hauling away old WH and stand, etc) and the post-Hurricane Ian supply and demand issues. They were able to replace it on the Monday. So far so good. I subsequently submitted the Plumbing Nerds invoice to my insurance company for reimbursement and they pushed back, asking for a breakdown of materials and labor. Fine, I thought. I called Plumbing Nerds to ask for this. I was told that they would escalate to management and call me back. Nothing. I called again...same thing. And again...same thing. I have called now 5 or 6 times and can only speak to the call center people. No one has called me back and no detailed invoice has been produced. The only thing I can assume is that the price was so exorbitant they are unable to produce an invoice. Now I am stuck with a $5K+ invoice which insurance won't cover. It's unfortunate because prior to this I was happy with the Plumbing Nerds but I can no longer recommend them, at least not if you are planning on requesting a reimbursement from your insurance company
