Plumbing Nerds
Company Overview
Nerdy Plumbing Solutions delivers Naples with top-notch plumbing assistance. Featuring a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and our Clear Pricing Commitment, our experts are set to support you with any plumbing issues.
Plumbing & Cooling Nerds is the third evolution of the plumbing and air conditioning business founded by John Verhoff after settling to Southwest Florida in 2007. At first, he focused on new construction projects. Yet, after navigating the recession, he came to see that working for contractors didn't provide flexibility over his business flow as he hoped.
By 2012, Verhoff shifted his direction to home service exclusively, initially teaming up with a associate on a company that had locations in the state of Florida and two more states. When he acquired his partner on the Florida part of the operation in 2016, he needed a new brand and identity. This led to Plumbing & Cooling Nerds was born.
Our team prides itself on delivering “innovative home services” that are “delivered with passion and knowledge.”
Greetings, I'm John Verhoff of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds. I've been committed to home services since I was in high school, and I'm devoted on delivering the best quality of assistance to my homeowners.
When founding this company in 2007 AD, I identified a need for a more customer-centric approach to the plumbing industry. We're driven by our goal to “transform perceptions of skilled trades,” which means providing innovative and efficient solutions to everyday plumbing needs. We also teach homeowners about their plumbing and air conditioning systems and present solutions that best suit their requirements.
Thank you for choosing Plumbing & Cooling Nerds for your home needs. I hope we can transform the way you perceive a trade professional.

Honest trust worthy company. Our tech Jeff was on point with his updates. I was impressed he showed up on time and ready to work. He explained what was going on with my hot water heater and had it fixed in no time. He was extremely professional and respectful and now days that goes a long way. I will definitely use plumbing nerds in the future!

I will say at the beginning I was very impressed with the professional response I received. they were very good at coming out quickly and then it all went down hill. my impression was they were there to sell me whatever service they could think up. then the prices quoted were so high I basically said they could leave as it was ridiculous. to clean out a main drain $4000 when the common charge is closer to $450-550. camera service for the toile was over $1000 when it is normally $525. they wasted their time and mine!!!!

If you're way too lazy to shop around and are OK with paying five times more than what you should pay for any given job, and if you're OK with being constantly upsold, then go ahead and give these guys a call. Or you can just call almost literally anyone else and save 80% from what these people will charge you. Definitely do not recommend.

I had a high water bill and call the Plumbing Nerds. It was a bad flapper in one toilet. It was recommended that I replace both toilets for about $1500, or just the insides or just the flappers. Replacing the two flappers was $306. I said that it was too expensive. He told me that he is a certified, licensed plumber and is worth this fee. I bought two flappers online for $20 and replaced them in about 15 minutes. I bought two flappers online for $20 and replaced them in about 15 minutes.

Do not use if you are planning to make an insurance claim! My water heater was damaged after Hurricane Ian. I called the Plumbing Nerds to replace it on a Friday (having used them successfully before) and they came out on Saturday to take a look. They gave me a quote which was expensive but, I assumed, reasonable, given the size/type of water heater (80Gal Rheem Professional), the work involved (new stand, new WH, updated piping, hauling away old WH and stand, etc) and the post-Hurricane Ian supply and demand issues. They were able to replace it on the Monday. So far so good. I subsequently submitted the Plumbing Nerds invoice to my insurance company for reimbursement and they pushed back, asking for a breakdown of materials and labor. Fine, I thought. I called Plumbing Nerds to ask for this. I was told that they would escalate to management and call me back. Nothing. I called again...same thing. And again...same thing. I have called now 5 or 6 times and can only speak to the call center people. No one has called me back and no detailed invoice has been produced. The only thing I can assume is that the price was so exorbitant they are unable to produce an invoice. Now I am stuck with a $5K+ invoice which insurance won't cover. It's unfortunate because prior to this I was happy with the Plumbing Nerds but I can no longer recommend them, at least not if you are planning on requesting a reimbursement from your insurance company

We called this company and they sent somebody out, however they didn't resolve the issue. They tried their snake, this didn't resolve the issue, they took a deposit of $500 to do the water jet the next day, this they guaranteed to fix our issue, it did not. Their guy let water run over our hardwood floors and put towels down, the towels were wet and now the seams have spread on our floor. We called to get our money back because after two days it was apparent they couldn't get the job done, the manager said they would give the money back, but instead took out the additional $500. So, in addition to them lying about giving our money back, they ruined our floor. The guy came over a two day period of time, never showing up when they said he would be here. Our kitchen was left in shambles because of this company. Then they fraudulently took $501 more out of our account. The $1001 is a small price compared to the floor we now will have to replace! We are considering suing. We called a different plumber the next day, he resolved the issue, without any drama. The company we called was Mike's Plumbing, he used an old-fashioned snake, resolved our issue within 2 hours, but more importantly knew what he was doing.

We had an excellent experience with Plumbing Nerds this week. We had a situation with a clogged toilet which may not seem like an emergency, but we had our children and grandchildren arriving the next day! I sent a Yelp request for an estimate and had John respond within ten minutes of my request. After exchanging information he told me he could have someone out that afternoon. They sent appt confirmation and told me we would get 45 minute notice of tech's arrival, which we did. Eddie B arrived and immediately discussed the problem with us both for a short term solution but also shared so much helpful information about what we should do to replace our toilet (he verified it was original to house - 1969!) and check out pipes and sewer system. We have had no issues for the last ten years of our ownership and do not know when it was ever last looked at. We could not have been more impressed with Eddie and his expertise and recommendations. We will move forward soon (after visitors!) with getting things repaired/checked out and will call on the Plumbing Nerds to do the work. Thanks Eddie!

This place was great! They contacted me as soon as I sent a request. They were able to get us in the same day and they far exceeded our level of customer service. They had everything completed within the given time frame. A hard find in today's society! Def give these guys a try!!

Outstanding customer service! It's nice to recieve a GPS link along with a photo of who is coming to do the repair. My issue was found quickly and they were able to tell me how much it would cost before doing anything. Very knowledgeable people, excellent service, very responsive, worth every penny!

WE needed a plumber and I asked around. Someone said Plumbing Nerds. Then I heard and ad for them on the radio. Very professional. After answering some questions about the problem, the customer service asked if I wanted the tech to wear a mask. Then said they would call about 1/2 hour before arriving. They did. They also sent an email with a picture of the tech who would be coming. The tech was wonderful. Explained everything he was doing. Showed me the work he was doing, took pictures of it all. When they emailed the receipt, they included the pictures of before and after the repair. Left everything very clean and neat.
