Plumbing Nerds
Company Overview
Plumbing Nerds serves Naples with top-notch plumbing solutions. Featuring a complete satisfaction promise and our Upfront Price Guarantee, our team are prepared to assist you with your plumbing requirements.
Our company is the newest phase of the HVAC and plumbing business founded by John Verhoff after moving to Southwest Florida in 2007. At first, he concentrated on building projects. Yet, after navigating the recession, he understood that contractor work offered little control over his operations as he wanted.
By 2012, Verhoff shifted his focus to only home services, initially collaborating with a associate on a venture that had branches in Florida and two other states and two other states. When he bought out his friend on the Florida part of the operation in 2016, he needed a fresh identity and identity. This led to the creation of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds was born.
Our team takes pride on delivering “innovative home services” that are “offered with nerd-like enthusiasm.”
Hello, I'm the Head Nerd, John Verhoff of this company. I've been committed to providing home solutions since my teenage years, and I'm devoted on providing the best quality of assistance to my homeowners.
As I starting Plumbing & Cooling Nerds in 2007, I identified a demand for a more customer-centric approach to plumbing. We're driven by our purpose to “redefine how skilled trades are viewed,” which means providing tech-savvy and effective solutions to everyday plumbing needs. We also teach homeowners about their plumbing and air conditioning systems and offer choices that fit their requirements.
We appreciate your interest for thinking of our services for your household requirements. I hope we can transform the way you think about a plumbing professional.

I had a high water bill and call the Plumbing Nerds. It was a bad flapper in one toilet. It was recommended that I replace both toilets for about $1500, or just the insides or just the flappers. Replacing the two flappers was $306. I said that it was too expensive. He told me that he is a certified, licensed plumber and is worth this fee. I bought two flappers online for $20 and replaced them in about 15 minutes. I bought two flappers online for $20 and replaced them in about 15 minutes.

Do not use if you are planning to make an insurance claim! My water heater was damaged after Hurricane Ian. I called the Plumbing Nerds to replace it on a Friday (having used them successfully before) and they came out on Saturday to take a look. They gave me a quote which was expensive but, I assumed, reasonable, given the size/type of water heater (80Gal Rheem Professional), the work involved (new stand, new WH, updated piping, hauling away old WH and stand, etc) and the post-Hurricane Ian supply and demand issues. They were able to replace it on the Monday. So far so good. I subsequently submitted the Plumbing Nerds invoice to my insurance company for reimbursement and they pushed back, asking for a breakdown of materials and labor. Fine, I thought. I called Plumbing Nerds to ask for this. I was told that they would escalate to management and call me back. Nothing. I called again...same thing. And again...same thing. I have called now 5 or 6 times and can only speak to the call center people. No one has called me back and no detailed invoice has been produced. The only thing I can assume is that the price was so exorbitant they are unable to produce an invoice. Now I am stuck with a $5K+ invoice which insurance won't cover. It's unfortunate because prior to this I was happy with the Plumbing Nerds but I can no longer recommend them, at least not if you are planning on requesting a reimbursement from your insurance company

We called this company and they sent somebody out, however they didn't resolve the issue. They tried their snake, this didn't resolve the issue, they took a deposit of $500 to do the water jet the next day, this they guaranteed to fix our issue, it did not. Their guy let water run over our hardwood floors and put towels down, the towels were wet and now the seams have spread on our floor. We called to get our money back because after two days it was apparent they couldn't get the job done, the manager said they would give the money back, but instead took out the additional $500. So, in addition to them lying about giving our money back, they ruined our floor. The guy came over a two day period of time, never showing up when they said he would be here. Our kitchen was left in shambles because of this company. Then they fraudulently took $501 more out of our account. The $1001 is a small price compared to the floor we now will have to replace! We are considering suing. We called a different plumber the next day, he resolved the issue, without any drama. The company we called was Mike's Plumbing, he used an old-fashioned snake, resolved our issue within 2 hours, but more importantly knew what he was doing.

We had an excellent experience with Plumbing Nerds this week. We had a situation with a clogged toilet which may not seem like an emergency, but we had our children and grandchildren arriving the next day! I sent a Yelp request for an estimate and had John respond within ten minutes of my request. After exchanging information he told me he could have someone out that afternoon. They sent appt confirmation and told me we would get 45 minute notice of tech's arrival, which we did. Eddie B arrived and immediately discussed the problem with us both for a short term solution but also shared so much helpful information about what we should do to replace our toilet (he verified it was original to house - 1969!) and check out pipes and sewer system. We have had no issues for the last ten years of our ownership and do not know when it was ever last looked at. We could not have been more impressed with Eddie and his expertise and recommendations. We will move forward soon (after visitors!) with getting things repaired/checked out and will call on the Plumbing Nerds to do the work. Thanks Eddie!

This place was great! They contacted me as soon as I sent a request. They were able to get us in the same day and they far exceeded our level of customer service. They had everything completed within the given time frame. A hard find in today's society! Def give these guys a try!!

Outstanding customer service! It's nice to recieve a GPS link along with a photo of who is coming to do the repair. My issue was found quickly and they were able to tell me how much it would cost before doing anything. Very knowledgeable people, excellent service, very responsive, worth every penny!

WE needed a plumber and I asked around. Someone said Plumbing Nerds. Then I heard and ad for them on the radio. Very professional. After answering some questions about the problem, the customer service asked if I wanted the tech to wear a mask. Then said they would call about 1/2 hour before arriving. They did. They also sent an email with a picture of the tech who would be coming. The tech was wonderful. Explained everything he was doing. Showed me the work he was doing, took pictures of it all. When they emailed the receipt, they included the pictures of before and after the repair. Left everything very clean and neat.

Plumbing Nerds installed a 30 gallon hot water heater on a Friday. The following Monday I called about a minor concern with the drain in the pan. They offered to send someone over that day or whichever day was convenient for me. I asked for the following day and two technicians were at my door that morning. They corrected the issue quickly and professionally and made sure I was 100% satisfied before departing. Excellent customer service and support after the """"sale"""" is the hallmark of a solid and trustworthy business. I highly recommend Plumbing Nerds.

I was very mad at this company. I did not like the experience I had with them originally. However they did everything within their power to rectify it. The supervisor called me after my review and I decided to give them a second chance. The two young men that came out here were wonderful. The last guy worked until almost 9:30 at night and got my drains running smoothly. Because of those two young man I now love this company.

No complaints about the quality of the work, but the cost was over the top! I had a 38 gallon water heater replaced at a cost of almost $1800, and that was after a 10% discount and a $25 coupon. The same water heater sells for $559 at Home Depot. Throw in a hardwire connection, a new pressure relief valve and some connection fittings and a galvanized drain pan, and one hour labour (one plumber, one helper).......this install shouldn't have been any more than $1300 at most! When I finally got the receipt by email, after having to phone twice, I noticed a charge of $85.32 for """"annual NERD pass"""". When I called to let them know that I neither requested, needed or wanted that, and it was never explained to me when they quoted the job, they told me that they could refund that, but that they would have to remove the 10% discount, which would result in my owing another $55. Wait.......WHAT!!!! Definitely would not recommend The Plumbing NERDS to anyone.
