Plumbing Distributors, Inc was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The small business started with four employees, including Glad and Sid, focusing on counter sales and delivery.

On February 13, 1976, we became a distributor for American Standard. This collaboration marked a major milestone for PDI. The American Standard line allowed us to establish ourselves as a competitive player in the plumbing sector. It also enabled PDI to acquire other prominent plumbing brands like A.O. Smith water heaters and later Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

With PDI's growth, the need for a bigger facility became apparent. We wanted to stay connected to our roots in Lawrenceville. A site was acquired in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road, providing easy access to Georgia Highway 316. From 1984 to 2006, PDI's Corporate Headquarters were situated at 20 Collins Hill Road, but once again, to accommodate growth, we needed to relocate.
