Plumbing Distributors, Inc was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The company began with a team of four, including Glad and Sid, providing counter sales and delivery services.

On February 13, 1976, PDI became an authorized distributor for American Standard. This agreement provided a substantial boost to PDI's standing. This line helped us demonstrate our strength in the plumbing industry. It also enabled PDI to acquire other prominent plumbing brands like A.O. Smith water heaters and later Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

As PDI continued to grow, it became obvious that a larger facility was required. The company aimed to remain close to its origins in the Lawrenceville area. A piece of land was secured in an industrial park off Collins Hill Road, allowing for easy access to Georgia Highway 316. From 1984 to 2006, PDI's Corporate Headquarters were situated at 20 Collins Hill Road, but once again, to accommodate growth, we needed to relocate.
