Plumbing Distributors, Inc was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. Initially, the business had four staff members, including Glad and Sid, and specialized in counter sales and delivery.

On February 13, 1976, we became a distributor for American Standard. This was a major milestone for PDI. The American Standard line allowed us to establish ourselves as a competitive player in the plumbing market. This success led to securing additional major plumbing brands like A.O. Smith water heaters and later Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

As PDI expanded, it became clear that a larger facility was necessary. The company aimed to remain close to its origins in the Lawrenceville area. A site was acquired in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road, providing easy access to Georgia Highway 316. From 1984 to 2006, PDI's Corporate Headquarters were situated at 20 Collins Hill Road, but once again, to accommodate growth, we needed to move.
