Plumbing Distributors, Inc. was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The small business was run by four individuals, including Glad and Sid, specializing in counter sales and delivery.

On February 13, 1976, we began distributing American Standard products. This marked a pivotal moment for PDI. The addition of American Standard products helped us prove our strength in the plumbing industry. This success paved the way for us to partner with other leading plumbing brands, such as A.O. Smith water heaters and Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

With PDI's growth, the need for a bigger facility became apparent. We wanted to stay connected to our roots in Lawrenceville. We secured a property in a developing industrial park off Collins Hill Road, which offered convenient access to Georgia Highway 316. From 1984 to 2006, PDI's Corporate Headquarters were situated at 20 Collins Hill Road, but once again, to accommodate growth, we needed to relocate.
