Plumbing Distributors, Inc. was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. Glad and Sid, along with two other employees, managed the small operation that provided counter sales and delivery.

On February 13, 1976, we began distributing American Standard products. This was a significant milestone for PDI. The addition of American Standard products helped us prove our strength in the plumbing industry. This success paved the way for us to partner with other leading plumbing brands, such as A.O. Smith water heaters and Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

As PDI expanded, it became clear that a larger facility was necessary. The company aimed to remain close to its origins in the Lawrenceville area. A piece of land was purchased in an emerging industrial park near Collins Hill Road, allowing for easy access to Georgia Highway 316. From 1984 to 2006, PDI's Corporate Headquarters were situated at 20 Collins Hill Road, but once again, to accommodate growth, we needed to relocate.
