Plumbing & Cooling Nerds is the latest evolution of the plumbing and air conditioning firm established by John Verhoff after he moved to Southwest Florida in 2007. His early work involved new construction projects. However, after navigating the 2008-2009 recession, he recognized that working for contractors limited his control over business operations. In 2012, Verhoff pivoted to home services, partnering with a friend on a company that had branches in Florida and two additional states. After buying out his friend’s stake in the Florida segment of the business in 2016, he needed a fresh name and identity. That’s when Plumbing & Cooling Nerds came to life. We take pride in providing “intelligent home solutions” delivered with a passion for service.

When I launched Plumbing Nerds in 2007, I identified a need for a more customer-focused plumbing approach.
