Looks like people have had the same issue as i have. Was trying to help my parents to get a plummber to thier house. Called and TRIED to speak with the angry lady who answered the phone, BJ is her name. First when she answered the phone she was eating and smacking into the phone. All i got was a simple ""yeah?"" When i asked if this was the plumbing company, i received ""yeah, what do you want?"" Now mind you i am not in the plumbing industry so i don't know technical terms or didn't understand solutions to plumbing problems, so i ask questions. I mentioned i need a Plumber and they have to go through the roof. She proceeded to speak down to me and told me that thier plumbers won't go on the roof (even though they have before). I started to ask questions and she interrupted me and said if I'm not going to listen than i guess i dont need a plumber and hung up on me. Now when i called back 10 minutes later to speak with Dan i was told ""you will never speak with Dan because i don't like you."" And again she hung up and when i called again she started calling me names and hung up again. Now i don't know about you guys but that is not the way to conduct a professional business and i certainly can't understand why a company would want someone who obviously very rude and nasty to be the first person someone talks or see's (the face/voice of your company. She is costing your company money and I have no choice but to call the BBB.

Receptionist hung up on me when I called and announced I was a general contractor who wanted to send them a bid invitation. I called right back thinking they had mistaken me for a robot caller soliciting business. The second time I announced that I wanted to send them a bid invitation for a project in Tehachapi and the phone went silent. I called back a third time thinking that they had poor cell reception and had lost my call. The third time, I received a rude response stating they weren't interested in my call and another hang up.
Poor management!

We had a great experience using Dan the plumber. We had a water heater part break on a Friday and while my husband was gone working. Needed help quickly so we could have hot water, I called and spoke to BJ (Dan's wife) she took my info and Dan was at our house in an hours time! I was so happy to have prompt service. He looked at water heater and turned out we needed a part that had to be ordered only. A bit panicky I said ok but was not looking forward to our family going the weekend without hot water.
Later that evening I received a call from BJ, she told me Dan was looking in his inventory at home for the part needed to fix our water heater and found one! She said they would come out the next morning (Saturday) to fix. They showed up at 9am and by 9:55am we had hot water! Dan was very nice to work with as well as BJ.
I am sharing with all our customers and friends because their service was prompt, professional, and friendly. Defiantly give them a call for anything plumbing related and tell them Dylan's Ranch sent you. :)

We've used Dan at The Plumbing Company numerous times, starting in March of 2002, and couldn't be more pleased with his service and quality of work. Our most recent calls to him for service came in June and September of 2016.
In June of 2016 he repaired a leak in the hot water line in a wet wall between two bathrooms. After opening up an access panel we had installed in the wet wall during a room addition several years ago, and confirming that we indeed had a leak in a copper pipe elbow, I called BJ at The Plumbing Company. This was on a Saturday and I told her that while the leak wasn't an emergency, since we had drainage in the wall and it wasn't causing any damage, that I needed to have it repaired as soon as possible. She said he was pretty well booked up with some new construction but she'd see what Dan could do. Dan was here at 7:00 AM the following Monday, before going to his new construction job, was his usual amiable self and did an impeccable repair job at a cost lower than I expected.
Today, Dan replaced a water heater that had been causing us fits since I self-installed it in August of 2013. I had installed the Rheem water to replace a huge A O Smith that Dan installed in March of 2002 and which sprung a leak on August of 2013. That's over 11 years on a water heater which isn't surprising since Dan won't install junk. In the scarce three years that we had the Rheem, it had gone through two thermocouple/pilot assemblies and a third was failing. After the second warranty repair, it also had a low, almost subsonic, vibration that shook the whole house when the main burner lit. I wish I had called Dan in 2013 as I would have avoided a lot of hassle grief.
I called The Plumbing Company on Monday September 12, 2016 and Dan was here at 8:00 AM on Wednesday September 14 to replace the water heater. He had the water heater and all necessary parts and supplies on hand. Once again, Dan installed a quality product, this time a Bradford White water heater, as well as the cold water supply shut off valve that no longer worked. The work was done at a price that was surprisingly less than I expected and less than what we had discussed when he repaired the plumbing leak in June.
I'm a competent do-it-yourselfer, and do a lot of work myself, but after cervical spine surgery there's some things I can no longer do myself. For those things, Dan has been and will continue to be my go-to guy for plumbing repairs.

Dan of Plumbing of East Kern (661-822-0929) seems like a nice enough guy and I suppose his work might be ok, but his wife BJ who handles his calls and scheduling is a nightmare. She is rude and acts like you are bothering her anytime you call. We tried to schedule the replacement of 3 toilets in our home. After 2 phonecalls and insisting on an actual day and timeframe more specific than ""early next week"" she said Dan would come Tuesday and that she would call at 7am to tell me what time. When I still had not heard from her at 5pm that day, I left a message informing her that we would be using a different plumber who will actually show up when he says he will. She called back within a half hour (she had yet to return a phonecall prior to this) from a blocked number and proceeded to argue round and round about how she has been in business for 30 years and everyone loves her and she knows how to run her business. All I was asking for was some common courtesy and communication. I don't care how long you've been in business -- a simple phone call to reschedule or answer a question doesn't seem like a lot to ask.

Had very bad experience with Plumbing Company, not to be confused with 'The Plumbing Company'. Dan is plumber, his wife BJ does phone stuff (appointments). Dan came to house in Sept couple of times to work on kitchen faucet and second time to work on some toilets. The work on toilets failed after about a month. Tried to call Dan to come over, but they went on vacation for six weeks. When I was finally able to get a hold of them to explain that problems were not only not fixed, but worse, BJ was very rude to me. Was difficult to get her to let Dan come back out to house to check it out. When I asked her for morning appointment, she said 'Oh no, we have to take care of emergencies first' I said 'So having no working toilets in house is not emergency' and she said 'No'. She even called me 'stupid' over telephone for not knowing how to fix my own plumbing problems. I thought Dan was very nice man and probably would have come back to fix problems, but you don't get to talk to Dan. You have to deal with BJ first. And anything that sounds like 'rework' she is not interested in resolving. Only out for money is my first thought. Not keeping her customers happy. She actually told me to find another plumber.
