Summary of service call by Capital plumbing
1. My wife was told that Plumbers would arrive at 9 AM. She stayed home to wait for them they came at 1:45 PM.
2. To check the radiant heating system panels were removed and drawers dismantled. The plumber failed to cleanup or replace the removed panels and drawers.
3. The next day I called Capital plumbing to request that they return to clean up the mess and replace the panels. I was told that it wouldn't be possible for anyone to come out until the next week. I was also told that the plumber would call me back to discuss this and he did not call me.
4. My wife was told that two of the valves were not functioning and needed to be replaced and that a de-scaling system needed to be installed with estimated cost of approximately $2700.
5. We hired an independent plumber to come out to check the system, and also asked a second independent plumber for an opinion. They found that the valves were functioning properly. In addition he informed us that since the radiant heating system is a closed system the addition of a descaling system would not be appropriate or helpful.
6. In summary the service call was substandard, we were left with a mess, with a system that had been turned out without advising us, and given advice for an expensive new system and replacement of valves that were functioning normally which was inappropriate and inaccurate.
