We had a bathtub filling up with sewage and knew that meant dragging an auger up to the main line on the roof. We only have one bathroom, so at 4:30 on Sunday afternoon, I called Plumber Bob. He had his plumber Thor arrive within an hour, by 5:30. We helped him lug that snake up on the roof and by 7:30 Sunday evening we had the toilet flushing and the shower draining. Thor is the most cheerful, helpful and hardworking young man you could ask for. He worked dliigently & adapted when his initial efforts weren't successful. The initial quote for a Sunday afternoon with immediate response was half or one third what I was quoted by three other plumbers. Thank you, Thor! You were great! Thanks, Plumber Bob!

Bob you were truly amazing installing my tankless water heater and thanks to yelp for getting me your info, I would highly recommend you time and time again and when plumbing issues come up, I would certainly use you again.

Man Oh Man. Received my water bill on Thursday to find my water consumption had increased 200%! Checked the meter at the street and saw it was moving even with all the water turned off in the house. Went through all my fixtures inside and out and couldn't find any leaks. Turned the water supply to the house off and the meter stopped spinning. Knew it was inside but couldn't find any signs of leaks. Called a great company, CPL Detection, and they came out Friday morning. CPL tracked down my leak using their listening devices and found I had a hot water slab leak in the master bath floor. You can actually put on their headphones and listen to the water gushing out. Turned off the hot water supply at the water heater, and sure enough the meter stopped spinning.

So, now I have two choices, jack hammer up my bathroom tile and slab and fix the leaking pipe, or, cap off the leaking pipe and reroute the hot water line through the attic. I didn't want to take the chance of having another leak along that particular line in the slab. Besides, once the line is re-routed in the attic, if I get any more slab leaks to other areas of the house, I already have the attic line available to tap into.

Now the hard part, finding an honest, affordable plumber......

Went on YELP and saw the favorable reviews for Plumber Bob's. I liked the fact this guy was a self-employed, one man show. He depends on himself and his workmanship to provide for his family. No one else but him to accept responsibility for a good or bad reputation. I figured this guy wouldn't have so many positive reviews, over an extended period of time, if he wasn't good at what he does. Man, did I make the right call...

Called Bob on Friday after CPL had found the leak. Bob called back after a short time and gave me a fair estimate based on the length of run between the water heater and the site of the leak. He said he could be at my house the following morning (Saturday).

Bob showed up with his assistant Rene. It was very evident Bob had done this type of work hundreds of times before. He got right to it, figured out the best possible solution, with the least amount of drywall and stucco repair needed in the end. ( And, he referred me to a drywall guy for those repairs).

Bob is a Professional. His work is efficient and meticulous. He is friendly and personable and takes pride in doing the job right, a perfectionist comes to mind. And, he came in under his original estimate.

As other reviewers have stated, Bob is a VERY busy guy. He may not answer his phone cause he's knee deep in doing a repair, as I observed during my job. You may have to show a little patience and call HIM back, but trust me, Bob will meet or exceed your expectations.

I would like to be one of the many Plumber Bob's customers giving him 5 stars, and might have been able to if he had called me back in 15 minutes, after he pulled over, like he said he would. Good job I'm not holding my breath because the call never came. Sorry Bob, but I'm not chasing you...I'll find someone else who is more responsive. (One star, but I would really like to give none).

I felt compelled to leave this review not about Bob's ability because I can't speak to that, but as to his character I can tell you this: I am a professional backflow contractor and after testing a backflow at a residence recently that happened to fail, I left a repair estimate on the customer's door as they were not at home. The customer must have called BOB as he thought it was ok to call me before seven in the morning on a Saturday to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the backflow and that I was ripping people off, and that he knew many other people on the block (since everyone in the neighborhood has a backflow) and was going to let them all know how I'm trying to rip everyone off.. Bob is not a qualified backflow tester and I have no idea how he could possibly determine if there was a problem with the backflow as you could not determine in any way or fashion by looking at it alone. The internal components in the backflow can be failing without any sign of problem on the exterior of it and the ONLY way you could possibly determine if it is failing and needed repair is to test it with a proper test kit and then and only then can you determine if the backflow is passing the test. I take my profession very seriously as a backflow is the water districts line of defense to protecting the water supply from contaminated water getting back into the water you & I drink. I really didn't appreciate BOB's comments and he is totally out of line calling me to make it seem like I'm ripping people off. Shame on you Bob for not knowing the facts and trying to make a judgment on something you are not qualified to do. I have never left a comment on Yelp for anything, but felt compelled to leave this as to the man's character because he has stepped over the line. I have never met this man nor had any interaction with him and I would personally be hesitant to hire this man to do anything for me if he is willing to go to this extreme without just cause because of the blatantly idiotic accusations he made. You will have to be the judge....

I normally don't write reviews, but in this case Plumber Bob deserves the best. I found Bob on Yelp and all of his 5-star reviews were right on the mark.

Bob did a pipe reroute in my house after my 3rd slab leak, using type L rigid copper pipe. I had several estimates for the work using rigid copper, flexible copper pipe and PEX. Bob's was the best for type of material used and cost. He estimated 3 days, and he was done in 2.5. When the water came on, no problems were found. I especially like the way Bob took the time to protect the areas and furniture from drywall dust, cover the floors, and then clean up immediately after to prevent tracking the demo'd material to other parts of the house. He chose the best routes through the ceilings and walls minimizing the overall impact. He was willing to accept suggestions and offered great alternatives to existing ideas. He was most courteous, and a very interesting guy. If you are looking for a plumber for any reason, you can't go wrong with Plumber Bob. I most highly recommend his work.

Garbage disposals and I do not get along. Three different apartments, three different makes of garbage disposals, same issue. This last time, I was not about to back down, I want to utilize the disposal. I called a plumber from the approved list and after a brief conversation he said he could fit me in the following day at 4. I left work early to be there to open the door. No show, no call. I called the office after waiting for an hour and they were gone for the day, got an answering service. Phone call two hours later to reset the appointment, no apology offered. Did not reschedule, there are others that will make it a point to be there for the prescribed appointment.

Of the 5 plumbers I called, Plumber Bob was the ONLY one who called back. He gave me a fair quote over the phone to replace my water heater and was at my house ready to work only 3 hours after I initially called him. He had the new water heater in place within 90 minutes with no issues. He cleaned up after himself and hauled off the old water heater and all the trash. Plus, he is a very nice guy and very friendly. One of the best plumbing experiences I have ever had. I will definitely use him again. Highly recommend him. Fast, fair & honest.

Seriously, as good as it gets!!

After several frustrating weeks of what an established San Diego plumbing company referred to as ""a mystery"" in the way my water lines were configured, and were unable to rectified the situation, leaving me without water in the bathroom, I called Plumber Bob.

In less than a day, working alone, Plumber Bob was able to solve ""the mystery"" and get my plumbing up and running. He performed this work at a quarter of the cost the other plumbing company quoted.

Aside from being a really nice, professional, and interesting guy, Plumber Bob was efficient, thorough, and competent.

Bob will be my go-to plumber from here on out!

Bob was indirectly referred to me by an SDGE employee. Basically he said I heard a lot of people in Poway use Bob. The SDGE employee found a leak on our water heater controller and recommended to have the whole water tank replaced, quoted 800-1000. Called bob he came in the next morning and did the work for 850. Straight shooter no bs. And he even hauled off old tank. Thanks bob.
