According to the plumber, this company was bought by Ben Franklin plumbing, then just left the Ben Franklin franchise and are back as their own company again, FYI.

Plumber was great. Very nice, very professional. He did the job quickly and was very cool the whole time.

That being said, I'm a little taken back by their prices. When you call they offer you 3 levels of service, basically priority if where you go in to the call queue. The 3 levels are something like: $189, $129 and $89 (If I recall numbers correctly). I assumed these ""appearance fees"" were taken off the bill if you chose them to do the work after they quoted it.

Not so much...for a simple kitchen sink clog the fee was $272 PLUS the $129 appearance fee. That seemed quite high...over $400 total for a 1 hour job.

Summary:
Good work, but you pay well for it.

We have an old shower valve, etc and called Ben Franklin aka Plumb Serve to come out and see if they could solve our low water volume issue. After looking at, the tech said he could fix it for about $300. After taking it apart, he said, well they don't make parts for this anymore so I can't fix it, so I suggest replacing it. He then put the cover back on, did a crappy caulking job and then charged us $270. They are rip-off artists. Don't use them. I called to complain to their customer service rep and she was even less helpful if that's possible. Well, I called Beacon a day later and their service was outstanding. The tech found a small clog behind the valve, repaired it and it now works better than ever. Plumb Serve aren't plumbers, they're useless, at least our tech was. Beware.
