I looked at a couple of different plumbers when planning to update my water heater. I went to some big guys and they were confident (arrogant?) and seemed to be busy all the time. It was tempting to go with them on the basis, that if they are busy and confident, they must be good and worth the high price. Ray was confident too (not arrogant) because he has had his business more than 25 years (through good and bad) and this is all he does. He is licensed and insured, good reviews and a price that was about 25% lower than his competition (less overhead I assume). We spoke on the phone at first, he described what he thought I needed (was looking at the tankless water heaters), but was willing to come out and look. After consulting, I decided to change my mind away from tankless and go with a tank product at 1/3 of the job cost and faster installation. No problem for Ray. Next day he came out and installed it as well as upgraded some water shut offs that were not working very well. He kept the price for the original job as agreed, and only charged more for the extra work that I asked (and it was charged fairly). In the end, with all the extra work, his price, speed, and quality were worth it. Next time I have a plumbing need, I'll call him.

Ray was FANTASTIC! He was in and out in 30 minutes max and fixed one running toilet and another with a bad washer/suction...and all for a very reasonable price. The plumbing company that initially did all of the work when the home was being built balked at even attempting this work and then quoted me an exorbitant price to completely replace the toilet. No thanks, I'll do business with Plumb-Rite instead!
