An update on this review. 2.5 months into the new hot water tank and the weather turned a little colder, so we went to adjust the knob on the hot water tank. Well, there's no knob. I called Plotke and asked them to text me a photo of which door to open up to adjust it. Instead, Sheryl offered to have someone stop by to show us. Next thing I know, I'm getting a $185 invoice for a 5-10 minute visit/demo of how to adjust it.

Stupid me, after 20 years and $25K of work with Plotke and a great history with the former owners, I figured this was after-service, since they could and should have shown us this when they did the hot water tank install in Aug.

I went from elation at their great after-service, to complete surprise and disappointment. I was never told they were going to charge a trip charge. Had I known that, I would have declined and looked on YouTube. So much for after-service.

When I complained, they said they would reduce the invoice down to $75.
Very questionable business practices here, for ""I'll have someone stop by"" as a follow-up on an issue that wasn't explained at install immediately is transformed into Plotke's revenue opportunity. And never was it mentioned that there would be any cost for the person to stop by and show us.

You make the choice. I won't be using Plotke any more. This has all been really sad given the long history we had with the prior owners.

We've used Plotke over the years and have been quite pleased with their great service.
We had a recent need for a replacement of a water shutoff ball valve as the stem had broken. We were so pleased with their speed and quality we had them come out the next day to replace our main shutoff valve that was getting hard to operate. Thank you Perla for the help over the phone and to the plumbers, Angel and Jason!!

We had a sudden pinhole leak that soaked the wall and floors in our garage. We were not sure where is was coming from, so we called Plotke Plumbing, which we have used in the past to resolve various plumbing issues. They have always done perfect work, and this time was no exception. Pearla dispatched Jason to our home right away, and he was FANTASTIC!!!
SO professional, extremely knowledgeable, clean and experienced, with a great personality and conscientious regarding time management. In addition, Plotke Plumbing's pricing is very fair and reasonable. I can not recommend them enough.

Needed a cartridge for my shower and my experience from beginning to end was great! Perla had great customer service and got someone out right away. Even gave me a $25 discount as first time customer. Francisco did a thorough job and very pleased with his friendly demeanor.

Have used their highly professional plumbers for nearly 30 years. Hot water heater replacement, leaking pipes, leaky toilets, installing sink fixtures, repairing faucets. Never had any problems years after the work is dine. Efficient and helpful office staff too. The bottom line is they get the job done.

had an emergency they were fully booked but managed to squeeze me in Francisco came out and saved the day also when calling the Lady on the phone was so nice and helpful I was very impressed with the kindness service and response Highly recommend.

Bait and switch tactic. I called them to look at a leak in the garage coming from the guest bath directly above it. I told the lady that the leak only comes when the shower above is being used. No pipe were exposed in the garage and water leaks through the ceiling.
She says she can send someone to take a look and that the plumber can help identify and fix the issue.
Well, the plumber came in, looked at the leak and said ""Oh, the leak is behind the wall/ceiling, I can't do anything until the wall is removed"". He handed me a phone number and left. In and out under 5 min.
A few days later, I received a bill for $150. For what? I would NEVER use or recommend anyone using this place.
We called Hanna Plumbing and the plumber came in and figured out the issue and fixed the problem within 90 min. Full cost for that was $322. Issue fixed.

Good service but very expensive. I had a small leak in a copper pipe. The company came out to repair it the next day. However, when they saw the problem, they said that the water to the whole building had to be shutoff in order to do the repair. However, since it was a 3-unit condo building, they said they had to give 24 hours notice (even though all parties were aware of this). Of course, they charged me for this (coming out). They came back the next day to make the repairs, and it was completed in less than an hour. The total bill was just shy of $300 including parts ($34.75 for 3 small items - can get all this at Home Depot for less than $10), fees ($35) and 1.5 hours of labor @ $150. To me, this is excessive!

We needed our water pressure regulator replaced, and Wayne did a great job. I will definitely ask for him for our next plumbing job. He knew what he was doing, he explained it to us, and he was very polite. I purchased the regulator myself at Standard Plumbing in Solana Beach because it cost $124.54 there, and Plotke was going to charge me $262 for it. The woman on the phone at Plotke helped me find the size of the regulator I needed to buy by looking at the photos I sent her. She was nice enough to help me save money! How awesome is that? I looked Plotke up on the California Contractors License Board, and they are licensed and bonded, which is very important; I speak from an experience with an unlicensed roofer.

Called this morning about a leak under slab in my garage.....I had already dug up the ground and asked them to repair the line for me....They sent Alex who is a very nice individual, knows what he is doiNG. He went right to work and resolved our issues.

pricing was very reasonable, and I learned a lot from this. Will definitely use them again when needed.
