On a hot July Saturday afternoon, I called half a dozen plumbers that get good marks on Yelp and most of them were forwarding their telephones to messaging services or saying that Monday was the earliest they could come out, but not Pistol Pete. Their phone was answered by young Pete, AKA RePete, and they showed up within an hour of the call to clear a sewer line, in an older home.
It was a bit more expensive than I anticipated, but it had to be snaked from the roof, since no cleanout was available on ground level. Both Pete and RePete were friendly, professional and obviously dedicated to great service.
I recommend this family-run-outfit, without reservation.

There are times when an issue bugs the hell out of me and needs to get resolved immediately. Some issues linger and linger, takes days, weeks and sometimes months before an action is taken. Early in the year, a wind storm knocked down a tall Italian Cypress tree. It needed to get removed and it took me a week to finally get someone to get this done.

A few weeks back, my son Ethan left home and drove back to UC Merced for his senior year. As usual, he left his dishes in the sink after his lunch. I was about to pick my my cellphone to bust his ass but instead I just washed the dishes. A few minutes of of this I notice the water building up in the sink. OK, no worries. I flipped the switch to the garbage disposal. Hmm, nothing. After a few minutes of getting the garbage disposal to work, I gave up. Then it gets worse, I notice water dripping under the sink!

Checked Yelp and Home Advisor for leads on whom to call. I made phone calls to three plumbers. I got two call backs with appointments set for the next day. But I wanted this issue resolved ASAP. 15 minutes later, Pete calls and said he would be able to come out in 30-40 minutes.

Pete arrived and assessed the problem. The garbage disposal might be kaput! But he will check. Sure enough, it had to be replaced. Water was dripping not from the pipes but from the garbage disposal itself. 25 minutes later, done and fixed. Pete cleaned up after the repair. The replacement unit was also a bit quieter. Pete gets my vote.
