Along with some other repairs, I told Jay I needed a new instant hot water heater and garbage disposal. Jay could have obliged and charged me accordingly. Instead, he asked if he could take a look - and ended up servicing the hot water heater and fixing the garbage disposal, saving me quite a bit of money!

My garbage disposal was jammed and my sink was completely backed up, so I searched for a plumber using Yelp. I called a half dozen or more companies and I was surprised to learn that were large price differences between them. Jay, with Pipeline Rooter & Plumbing, had the best price by far! He was incredibly easy to talk to and a pleasure to do business with. Very professional, on time, quick and honest. He made himself readily available for an appointment at my convenience. He also gave me the option to communicate through text messaging, which made things incredibly easy. I've used many plumbing companies in Los Angeles in the past, and here's what I've gotten: a plumber with a bad drinking problem, one who stole, one who set fire to the insulation in my partly constructed bathroom (and was very angry that I fired him), one who couldn't figure out how to install a new toilet and one who couldn't do a simple repair on a faucet.

Fortunately, I then found Jay, who not only knows how to do every conceivable plumbing job but arrives on schedule and does what he promises. He doesn't bullshit or overcharge and he really cares about the outcome. Like his other clients, I trust his advice and his work. I also hope to God he never retires because I can't imagine finding another plumber, let alone one who's comparable.

Jay came within 30 minutes to root out my main line. He was affable, intelligent, and capable. We had conversations about future work, but only as initiated by me. He said he's done over 400 tankless water heaters, including one for my neighbor. I'll talk to my neighbor, and, unless you see an update to this review, that means Jay did good work for him. I'll definitely call Jay back when I've got more substantial work to do.
