i would never recommend this company for repairs on anything.
They came out to look at a compliant about our hot water heater not heating the water. He opened the door to the heater and looked at it said that since it wasn't leaking it wasn't anything that he could do. It probably needed to be drained and that we should service the heater every 6 months which we do. He was rude and disrespectful. He told us that if we had called in a plumbing call he could have checked the facets but would not put it in writing so American Home Shield would cover it. He stated I came out to look at he water heater and that's all i will put in the report.
If you want good respectful service than dont ever call on this company.

Pipe Down sent out Larry to view our busted water heater on a contract with American Home Shield. He was prompt, polite, and efficient. He explained things in lay terms until I told him I was in the water industry before becoming a SAHM, then he switched to professional terminology. The repair required a permit and a new heater. The appointment was set on the estimated time line and at the quoted price. Larry was again polite, friendly, and efficient. The inspector just left our house and remarked how easy it is for him to do his job right when the plumber does such good work. We're very happy.

We had this company come out to my 75 year old moms house, the guy Blaine walked into the house with little introduction. He at first started to try and work on the kitchen faucet, even thou his work order called for the laundry room sink to be looked at. he said nothing was wrong with it, my mom informed him that when he was out last time, he said a gasket needed to be replaced, he said he didn't fix it the last time because he didn't have any with him. She proceeded to turn the water on to show him the leak, after some hesitation he worked on it. The 2nd room was a bathroom, the tub overflow was leaking on the side of the house, He said "I'M NOT Masonry" I don't' do that work. She again asked him to test the water and he would not. I do not appreciate how my mom was treated, the guy is being paid a service fee to complete work and make an assessment. My mom wasn't sure she wanted to paid since he didn't do all of the work. He said that's fine I will get paid anyways they will just bill you. He left with little work completed. When we called to complain they gave no empathy to the situation and said we don't do that work, so we are not even gonna look at.

Pipe Down advised me over the phone, sight unseen, through my American Home Shield service contract that I almost certainly had a foundation leak because there would not be water pipe on the side of the house where water was leaking next to the house. Foundation leak! Can you imagine how that freaked me out. Many thousands of dollars drilling holes inside my house in my foundation to find it, etc. I called another plumber who assured me I had pipe running on that side of the house and he dug a hole and quickly found the leak under a shrub. Eric Stolle Plumbing in Round Rock found the leak, fixed it quickly at a fair price.

I have never written a yelp review for anyone prior to this but I am mad enough to do so now. This company contracts with American Home Shield home warranty company. We placed a service call to AHS which we ended up canceling. Pipe Down billed the home warranty company and now we are being held hostage for the service call that they NEVER made!!

AHS Contracted this company for our plumbing concern that fell under our warranty. Larry had a arrival window in the morning which he confirmed. Then he called me when he was on the way to our home. He arrived exactly on time. Diagnose the problem fixed the problem while being professional and courteous at the same time. He's an excellent asset to this company. Hopefully they are aware of his value. Because excellence is hard to come by.

Allow me to clarify my rating for this $#!7 company. It has NOTHING to do with the technicians that go out to do services, never got to that point. The rating 100% reflects the sarcastic, obnoxious and rude phuk that I dealt with on the phone.
AHS had contracted this company to resolve a stoppage. When I contacted them on Friday, the guy on the phone said they couldn't come out til Friday. I told him that was too far out and I would need to call AHS to see if I could get an early time. Didn't tell him to cancel. He didn't say anything about canceling. He didn't say anything except "whatever". AHS said this fell within his "48 business hour" time period so I accepted it.
Well now it's Monday and I call the company to ask when he's sending someone out and he says "we aren't". Why? He said he placed my contract on "hold". HOLD!?!?! Who told him to do that? He didn't tell ME I was going to be on "hold" the first time. Now he won't get out to see me till WEDNESDAY?!?!? This isn't even the most upsetting part yet.
So I agree to Wednesday and tell him if I can find an earlier time from someone else, I will call back and let him know, OTHERWISE DON'T CANCEL/HOLD that appointment. All this I said without raising my voice and without cussing. This guy starts to talk about "not putting on airs" and what not, talking about I can either make the appointment or not, take it or leave it, but don't say i'm going to look for a better time. He goes on about he's got guys that want to work so take it or leave it. . . . .
You just lost one of your plumbers some work sir, and most likely a tip as well because I have always tipped labor jobs like that (plumbing, AC, mechanics, etc...). I've also contacted AHS to see about having your company on the banned contractor list. AHS is a decent company and their reputation shouldn't be brought down by having contracted companies, such as how you represented yours, be associated with them.

my wife and I have American home shield, in the past they have been real good.we have a water leak under the sink so I called American home shield in less the 2 her. they had pipe down services in (Waco/Killeen) on the way fast services. the hot water line has two line they both were liking one to the sink and one to the dishwasher ,he said he did not have the line and was going to go get one .(he could have gotten both lines and saved a trip but he did not he replaced the line going to the sink and said he would have to call someone to work on the dishwasher ,he said he could do it for 100.00* and hr. we do not have the coverage for the dishwasher (it is not broke the water lint going to the dishwasher needs to be replaced he could have got the line when he went to town the first time ,WHEN I CALLED THE OFFICE THEY TOLD ME THEY WORKED JUST LIKE THE DOCTORS AND FOR ABOUT THE SAME RATE .for 10 mins. work he could have fixed the water like did he HELL NO ,In short do not use them they will rip you off .He did not do 75.00 worth of work ,and could have fixed it today .

Stay away from these people
American Home Shield will send these people out to your home. First time my hot water heat and they try to get me for $350 extra didn't work because i call american shield and it was not true so i didn't have to pay. Then a my tub they try to get me for $60 extra call american shield and i didn't have to pay that. Now my toilet it was not cover by american shield but he told me they w... view moreouldn't buy another toilet and but he never said or wrote on my order he was charging me $100 to pull one in he just wrote on my order customer will buy toilet and call when she get toilet.... now he come in pull the toilet in and said that a $100. He could even show on my order where he said it would $100. They walk in your home and do work and try to charge you what they want. I will be reporting them to BBB. Not only are we not renewing our home warranty with AHS, we demanded they send a different plumber to fix what this company did not want t

If I could give "0" I would. I honestly thought they were going to be awesome after speaking to Randy on the phone. He was professional, genuine, seemed to care about our issue and on it when it came to calling us back and updating on initial issues. When the water heater was finally installed (after two and a half weeks wait time for special size order which included the wrong size being ordered the first time!), it was done incorrectly. There was a leak and water began to flood our garage slowly. It took them two days to come back. The service man who came this time continually ripped apart his colleague, James, saying "..man! he did a terrible job!" He left a laundry list of all the things James did wrong on the install. After this visit where he fixed the leak, there was now no hot water!! When we called to have them come back and fix the now hot water issue, no one phoned back .It's been a full 7 days that NO ONE has called us back from the business. Not Randy, not an office person, not James, no one. I even logged online and filled out the service request form there. We have been in contact with another plumbing company and they will be here tomorrow morning.
