An O.I have an analog thermostat that broke. It cost me 99 dollars to have a person come out...and he didn't even have a thermostat with him for the replacement. I then received an estimate from them for both the cost of replacing the one thermostat, or the cost of replacing four (I wanted to switch to digital.) The replacement cost of ONE thermostat was 344 bucks; for all four, it would cost 1750. Naturally, I found a much less expensive company. Sorry I wasted 99 bucks to even have them look at the work.
Plumbing emergency, the week of Thanksgiving with my regular plumber out of town. Started calling around and this company answered the phone and scheduled a same day visit. The tech was kind and resolved the problem quickly for a fare rate. I'd highly recommend!
I had a nasty problem. A failed injection sump pump sewage line.
I didn't even know I had one.
My house is below the sewage line so effluent needs to be pumped up to the line. I had two pumps, both dead. It was backing into the downstairs shower floor. PCE came out immediately. They contacted Webb supply in Hamp and purchased the new pumps before they closed. They came at 2:30 we had service by 7. Justin was knowledgeable and courteous. I must admit to great joy meeting their truck; I had a serious issue. I could not use the potty. These pumps are not cheap $1,200 each plus installation. It was $2k/pump. Online the estimate for this service was $2k with higher prices in Boston or the burbs.
I was very happy with PCE. My pump was from 1992 by its serial number. It was 30 years old. They last about 20 years. Be aware of the age on pumps in your house or apartment. Very strong rec for PVE.
We employed Pioneer Valley Environmental for some rather extensive/complicated, prolonged, plumbing work in our kitchen and bathrooms. The service was SUPERB. Alex provided EXCELLENT work. He was very focused, productive, careful and quite courteous. The results were better-than-expected. We are very pleased. We offer our highest recommendation to/for Pioneer Valley Environmental.
THank you, sincerely!

We had a clogged kitchen sink that turned out to be a much bigger prob than we thought. Matt had to do a lot of detective work to figure out where the problem actually was. He was so patient and explained every step. Eventually he figured out that the problem was in a pipe in the basement. Then he worked diligently to unclog it and cleaned up afterwards. We were so impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. Meanwhile we have needed PVE's services before and each time were so happy with their work.
PVE
Exceeded all expectations!
working with the team from the office to the technicians in the field. Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond. Only a phone call or text away, very quick to respond with answers and solutions, implemented and done. looking forward to the next opportunity that I will need their expertise for plumbing, heating, HVAC instillation or maintenance.
The only one I will call is PVE.
PVE has been extremely accommodating and efficient in making our HVAC run smoothly. They go to a great effort to test and diagnose, so as to not replace equipment needlessly. Meanwhile they show up usually the same day or have done so for me when the heat was down; and I really appreciate that very much.
Karen M.We called this company on a Tuesday and told them that one of the valves on our furnace was leaking. First they asked us what kind of valve it was. Well if I knew that I would be in this business myself. We were told that someone would get back to us. We got a call all right...8 days later. I told them that when we hadn't heard from them by that Friday we called someone else and they got right here and took care of it.
Amanda H.This is a fantastic company. We first came across them to install a dishwasher and to replace a leaking toilet and some pipes. The plumber, Adam, set up not only the plumbing but also the electricity and carpentry work with two different folks. He responded quickly to texts or phone calls and was phenomenally organized about everything. It was as though we had an excellent contractor.
Another time, we were having water tank issues, and he came right out, on time (or earlier), same great communication. Both the office folks, Diane and Deanna (sorry if I'm misspelling or misremembering your names), are lightning fast with both email and phone calls.
Then, they came out to Granby (which I only found out was outside of their service area because I glanced on their website) without batting an eye when my mom needed a new water tank installed on our property. They didn't even mention the extra drive...
So, when we realized our house was a sauna in the summer, we called PVE for air conditioner, too. Hiring great people seems to be a company policy. Ronnie, Brandon, and Alex were great. Within a week of me calling and saying we were dying of heat, they quoted, and then ordered, set up, installed, and permitted a mini-split air conditioner that works with the layout of our very oddly shaped house ($10,000 including install and ducts for 1 ton and 5 ton units, second floor, for those who read reviews for price).
They cannot be normal HVAC people; they installed it like engineers, setting it up so that we get maximum coverage for minimum energy. They paid attention to all the details, from whether we wanted a pipe to be a corner or a straight line, to tidying all the little pipes and bits of plastic. The unit itself is super: you can angle the fans and choose which side the AC comes out on. And they were all utterly pleasant, friendly, and on time or a bit early. Highly recommend.
Amy K.Awesome job great timely manner would recommend to anyone very professional
