Just a quick note to all looking for an honest plumber....STAY AWAY from Pioneer Plumbing. We had work completed by Pioneer on a renovation 2 years ago (in addition to a previous remodel on another home). A YEAR after the completion of the remodel, they sent my husband and I a bill for $2800. Seeing as how there was no way to verify what work was done or (even after asking numerous times for proof of additional work completed that we did not already pay for) we finally agreed to pay them half the amount of the bill in good faith since we were generally happy with their work and so that we could all end the relationship on a positive note. Since we never heard anything back, I assumed the matter was settled.

Fast forward to today, and I have a plumbing issue with the pipe they installed. I called the office and they are not willing to come back and work on their very own installation. They explained that they don't guarantee their work after a year anyways, and that they refuse to work with us anymore.

Save yourself from the frustration....and bills coming A YEAR after completion of a job. What a shame--thought I had found a good one :(. Terrible, short sided, customer service.

Professional, friendly and very helpful - both on the phone and in person. Mike came out and explained what likely happened with my plumbing issue - and gave me good information to help me decide next steps. I will definitely call Pioneer with any future plumbing needs (and let's face it - they are usually disasters or disasters waiting to happen). I am so glad I got a recommendation from a neighbor to call Pioneer.

First off the staff who completed my repairs were TOP NOTCH. Very responsive and helpful. Told me exactly what was going on and were very up front and honest.

I did have an extremely difficult time setting an appointment. Took them weeks to respond back to my email wanting to setup a time after they needed photos to see if they could help with my situation.

Steve has been very helpful and he should be your go to guy. Techs - Dave and Mike were great as well.

The reason for 4 stars is hat my bill was MUCH more than estimated... I was told about 3.5hr and it was 5.5... my bill was $350 more that I had expected.

I have never dealt with customer service that is so rude! I called because we were charged 3x what we were quoted (we were charged $320 for the 15 minutes it took to clean out the drain.) Apparently we are out of service range, which no one explained when they quoted us (having all our information, including address), and the plumber didn't say anything about it when he came; so we had to pay for two hours of travel time. They are a Seattle based company and we live in federal way, so I don't know how we were expected to know their restrictions. The area restrictions are posted nowhere on their website, and they didn't say anything about it when we were quoted the price for the repair. The representative I talked to cut me off multiple times, and was irritable and rude. My husband was able to talk the general manager into giving us an hour off the two hours of travel time, but we are still paying $220 for a 15 minute shower unclogging. I have never felt the need to write a bad review, but people should be warned! 1. They are not honest about charging clients. And 2. The customer service is VERY rude!!! They will cut you off mid sentence. They will be annoyed with you. They will treat you disrespectfully. So if you do choose them, just know what you are getting into!

Terrible customer service! I was recommended to Pioneer by Greenlake Plumbing as I need a pipe burst job for our sewer line and Greenlake doesn't do that work. I have called twice over the past 10 days and asked for an estimate. They assured me Jason would call but I've heard nothing. Why deal with a company that promises something but never delivers, not even for an estimate scheduling?! That's Doing Business 101, and they failed miserably.

These plumbers are some of my most favorite humans in the world. In a matter of 2hours after calling afterhours they were able to stop a hotwater heater from spilling water onto the floor of one unit and the ceiling of the one below.
Apparently the valve that connects the main water to the tank had failed ontop of the hotwater heater failing. Thank You Pioneer!

If you call Pioneer Plumbing expect to get a run-around and be overcharged.

I called them because my sump pump stopped working and my basement was filling with water. I was pleasantly surprised that somebody could come out that same day. However, they sent somebody with absolutely no resources to fix the problem. He wandered around my basement for 15 minutes jiggling the cord, checking the breaker, and looking at the sump pump before declaring I needed a new pump. No surprise there. Did he have a pump with him? No. But somebody could probably come out the next day to replace it. Fine. I asked how much a sump pump would cost and he said about $100 + labor. Ok. Shortly after he left their dispatch center called to say somebody would be out at 3:30pm the next day with a new pump.

I waited an hour the next day before calling to see if somebody was actually coming. I was told by their dispatch center that, yes, they were on their way. The guy on the phone elaborated that there had been an ordering mix-up between my sump pump and another sump pump job, and that's why they were late. When the guys finally arrived they explained further that the less powerful, and therefore less expensive, pump had been used on a different job. The pump they brought me was waaaay more powerful than what I needed. But, they assured me, I shouldn't be charged the difference. They also said this was a one-man job, and I shouldn't be charged for both of them being there and they apologized for the fact that the guy the day before had been unable to help; they didn't understand why he'd been sent in the first place. In fact, they said a lot about the workings of Pioneer Plumbing.

So, I guess I wasn't surprised when I received the bill for all of this: almost $900. I was charged $300 for the pump, not the ~$100 I was expecting. I was also charged the going rate for the first guy to spend 15 minutes of his time to tell me what I basically already knew ($134/hour). When I called to see which pump I was being charged for I was simply told that ""he shouldn't have said that"" it would be around $100. I have no problem paying for a job done and tools needed, but this bill was $300 more than expected, plus time away from a new job without pay for me. They wouldn't budge on any of the bill. The whole experience left me feeling completely taken advantage of and lied to.

Please think twice about calling Pioneer Plumbing and be smarter than I was: insist on them sending somebody equipped to fix the job the first time, and get a quote in writing.

Pioneer Plumbing is a great company in my opinion. I have used them several times for minor plumbing issues and they have always been courteous, professional, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them. They have never tried to up sell me, just come over and fix the problem. Always very friendly and prompt!

We had a serious plumbing issue at our bar in Ballard and on a recommendation from an installer friend I called pioneer after normal business hours, I was prompted to call an emergency number and got directed to Stephen the owners son, he was out here within 5 minutes and got everything cleared up within a couple of hours. Easily the best experience I've had with a plumber who does drain service

This company has terrible customer service.

I called them because they were listed on my HOA. My heater was blowing cold heat so I asked if they could take a look. On the phone, I asked what the charge would be to come out. The man on the phone said ""It depends on what needs fixing."" I asked if he could maybe give me an estimate so I can get a general idea of how much to pay.

Then he put me on hold and came back on the phone telling me the visit would have no charge. Ok great.

So later that week, a plumber came out to look at my heater. He suspected it was because the heater had some air in it and drained some of the air. He was friendly and professional and finished in about 20 min. I was really satisfied with the company at this point and planned to use them for future plumbing needs.

A week later, I got a call from the main office asking me to verify some information so they could send me a bill.

I was surprised so I asked why I was being charged when I was told there is ""no charge"" for the visit.

WOW, the man on the phone (I think his name was Kyle) became very rude. He said, ""When I do a job, I expect to be paid for it."" He then asked, ""So what do you do for a living?"" and even threatened, ""Do you want me to come out and put air back in your heater?""

Let me say that I was NOT rude to him on the phone, I did not raise my voice or even accuse him of bad customer service. I explained I was being told different things on the phone before and after the visit. Plus, during the visit, nothing was said about charging me a bill.

I totally understand businesses need to charge for fixing something and I believe that if this is the case, it should be COMMUNICATED to the customer. Otherwise, you're not being transparent. By the way, the charge was $120/hour.

After trying to talk to him on the phone, he basically hung up on me. The last words I heard from the receptionist (named Lisa) was, ""Well, I'm going to send you the bill and I hope you pay it. Good bye.""

No one even apologized for miscommunication or admitted they did anything wrong.

As a customer, I feel that I was cheated. If they wanted to charge their customers, they simply need to inform them of the fact. And if they make a mistake, own up to it and maybe work out a payment plan or offer me a discount on future visits or whatever.

To me, their attitude was simply collecting the bill from this one job and not being interested to retain a long-term relationship.

Sorry for the negative review, Pioneer Plumbing but I hope you use this to become better. I was open to working with you again, but I don't think I can trust you after this experience.
