He tried to get me to buy a whole new unit which I think is a scam. I was able to have another technician come out who was able to fix the issue to get my unit running for a few years more.

I called Phoenix Mechanical for a service call because of an air conditioning unit that was not working. The technician was here for 2 hours, but fixed nothing. He said that the owner would call me to discuss next steps, and if a new unit was needed, I would get an estimate, timeframe for the work, etc. He never called. I held off on paying the $400+ bill, emailed them repeatedly, and finally got a phone call after a few months. We set a date and time for him to come and look to see what would be needed to replace the unit. I paid the bill. He never showed up. Of course, I took my business elsewhere.

Look no further. Hot water went out on a Sunday, called late at night, got incredibly quick and professional response, had everything installed including permit with the town by noon the next day. They renewed my faith in contractors.

Had a great experience with Phoenix Mechanical. Was shopping around a complete reinstall of my HVAC, looking for heat pumps; they were the cheapest price by about 20% for really excellent equipment. Sometimes a little slower to respond to e-mail when reaching out to specific people, but showed up when they said they would, excellent install team, did great work. Everything was straightforward, no mystery fees or unexpected charges. Was called with any installation issues and updated. Permitting handled correctly. When there was an issue getting the thermostat to work, they sent the appropriate experts and had it resolved pretty quickly, let me know what was happening along the way. To be honest I have no complaints, and absolutely recommend them.

Several times now they have shown up with the wrong equipment for the job and left the job undone. One hand doesn't seem to know what the other hand is doing. Taking business elsewhere.

I found them very expensive. Also, when we were traveling, my father in law had to call in because our air conditioner stopped working. They were rude to him and upset my in laws.

The team did a really good job at coming to fix a problem with my A/C unit. The first time they came out the unit happened to be working (I hate when that happens) and after running the diagnostics they couldn't see anything wrong. Less than three weeks later the system stopped working again. Called Pheonix and they understood our frustration so they promptly sent out two very professional mechanics (Willie and Doug) and they got too the bottom of the issue and fixed it. We are very happy with their work.

We had a heating emergency at 2am and left a message for Phoenix Mechanical. They quickly called us back, but said they don't' work on oil boilers. We wonder if they just didn't want to make a late-night service call, though. Their website has a photo of a ""high efficiency oil boiler"" that they installed.

I have a Fujitsu Halcyon Inverter System, for heat and AC. I called Phoenix in April because I turned on the AC part of my system and it did not work. I called right away to get it done before summer. I figured April was plenty of notice. Not only did they not return my calls, but it took them many visits and about $1,200 to finally get the AC working IN SEPTEMBER. Between them not calling me back, installing the wrong circuit boards, and finally getting a rep from Fujitsu to come to my house, it took them FIVE MONTHS to get the AC fixed. This was too late for AC because summer was over. Soon cold weather came and I turned on the unit's heat, and that did not work. It worked fine the winter before, but once they ""fixed"" the AC part, the heat would no longer work. I began calling them in November. It is now January 8. I've left a bunch of messages and they have never called me back. I've been told by someone in the office that they are ""waiting to hear back from the Fujitsu rep."" They could have actually called me back to inform me. I'm betting that if I ever do get them back to my house, it will have taken an entire year to get my system fully working. A year. I think this company has provided the worst customer service I've ever received from anyone.

My air conditioner was fixed. That was no problem. The problem I have is that to diagnose the problem they come in for maybe 15 minutes and charge for an hour of labor. The part came in and the first hour is recharged again and then is when it is charged for another half hour. I never had this before. None of this was explained. I would not have minded the first hour and then billed for the fix time at the after first hour rate. They took over for Tuttofare who was wonderful and a gentleman and fair. Very disappointed. Call around first.
