They installed a thermostat improperly at our home. we paid $1100.00, but will cost us over $3000.00 to correct.
Rep Scott t, lied about technicians being certified. refuses' to correct the problem the incompetent employees caused, OR refund our money.
Jennifer E.I purchased a pre-owned set of frontloaders that arrived doa, and these were the guys recommended by the seller, who was paying for the repairs. The tech quickly found and fixed my dryer issue. Issue with the washer was dealt with because the tech was attentive.
A part did need to be ordered, and did take a couple of weeks, which I suppose is not unusual. I was treated courteously and never did they fail to return a call or respond to a question.
This business is not very good at all. Turnover from initial contact about the appliance to a person coming with the correct part has been 22 days. Emily was our contact at the business. She has a very snarky disposition over the phone which made their inability to fix the problem in any reasonable amount of time all the more frustrating. The day of the repair was informed that the repair person should arrive between 8 and 1. Hours later she informed me it will realistically be sometime after 1. Service repair person also filled me in on the trials of his life which was also pretty unsettling. Not a very professional rapport from top to bottom.
I called for refrigerator repair around 9am this morning
and was told that they could take care of my problem today and would arrive from 11 to 6 pm. At 4pm they called and said that they would be a little late. I called at 5 and they said they would arrive between 630 and 645 pm and that the person would call. It is now after 7 pm and I called and got the answering service that said they would only take a message and get it to them the next day. So if you want to be promised something and have no one show up or let you know that they could not do the service that day then call Phil's Appliance Service. Quite disappointed that they didn't even have the courtesy to let us know that they were too busy to service us when they know that our refrigerator was not working in the summer so that we could have made alternate plans so the food would not spoil. DO NOT US tHIS SERVICE !!!
Lauren from Phil's told me the owner was too busy to talk to me after waiting over 3 weeks for a new ice maker. My wife called and was told that the part wasn't there; even though someone else told her it was. Oh, yeah the part just came in, they said. Then, they wanted us to stay home on July 4th weekend so they could come out within a window of 6 hours. So, no ice maker for my cookout? Sorry, too bad!!! I cancelled the order and asked for my $100 dollar deposit to be refunded. I went to Appliance Repair and they had the ice maker in stock. One screw, one plug and five minutes and it was done. Oh yeah, Lauren apologized profusely but had no solution. Fortunately, I did!!

Very disappointed with their service. It's been a month since they first looked at our refrigerator and they still have not fixed the problem. Now they tell us the part will be in on Friday but because of the holiday they can't come until next Tuesday. A true repair ""service"" would make sure they got the part to the customer BEFORE the holiday. Meanwhile, we've been one month without our refrigerator! Would NEVER recommend them to anyone.
I too have a DTE protection plan. Furnance went out on a Saterday night. 25* outside. Called DTE 7AM Sunday morning. They said they notified PHIL'S Appliance to respond to my problem.. Tech would call me shortly.. No response by 9:30Am. Called DTE again. Was told someone would be calling me soon. Within 20 minutes I received a call from the tech. (John). He gave me a 4 hour window, but within 20 minutes he called me back and said he would be here in 30 minutes...He arrived 30 minutes later...Diagnosed problem, had parts in truck, furnance was working within 45 Mins. Thank you John! Phil's may have aquired a bad reputation, but this time they seemed to have redeemed themselves! HINT, keep on DTE's ass to resolve your problem! You are paying THEM X amount of dollars per month for their PROTECTION PLANS, (mine happens to be $13.95) Consider 10 years of $13.95 per month = $1674.00, 2 repairs in 2 years, estimated costs , maybe $100.00 each, Perhaps DTE is not giving the REPAIR companies the insentive to do a good job???? But in this case I was very happy with PHIL'S.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
My refrigerator stopped working on a Sunday of course so I called DTE since I have the appliance protection plan with them and they said that Phil's service would contact me Monday morning. Monday morning no call. I called them Monday afternoon and they said they would come out anytime until 6p. Nobody from Phil's service showed up Monday. They said they would be there Tuesday between 11am-6pm. At 5pm on Tuesday I get a call saying they are on there way. At 6:15 pm I get another call saying there on there way. I asked them what does on your way mean cause I got a call an hour and 15 minutes ago saying the same thing. They said they would be there in about an hour. I told them nobody would be available to be there to reschedule in the morning on Wednesday they reassured me they would be there in the morning on Wednesday. No call from Phil's service Wednesday morning. I called DTE and they cancelled Phil's service and had another service out to my house that afternoon.
Sherry H.Heres the deal with Phils: You call them and you PAY for an ESTIMATE. This is just wrong. When you call them, you hang up the phone and someone will be at your door FAST! There is a reason for this - they are there to pick up $85 for an estimate and then leave telling you someone will have to come back to fix it. They say they will apply the amount you pay to the estimate , but when someone comes back a week later they want much more $$ than you would normally pay. Beware of this tactic = all they want is the $85 service fee, that is why Phils has someone out in the area to show up just to collect the service fee and give you an estsimate.
