The repair man who came out wasn't experienced enough to know what needed being done on our fireplace. It is worse than before and all he new how to do is charge a high amount of money for nothing. He didn't tighten the gas fitting and my husband smelt gas and then he tightened it. I would not recommend them to anyone. He called back and wanted to clean something else and charge again for what he should of fixed the first time. He said he wouldn't guarantee that would fix it.

On 1/20/2020 I received a carbon monoxide alarm from my heating boiler in the middle of the night. Contacting the gas utility they sent out a technician and confirmed that I had a leak and wanted to red tag the unit but because it was way below zero outside he yellow tagged the unit on condition that I had some windows cracked open for ventilation. The boiler exhaust pipe was apparently slightly leaking CO into the house. The next day I contacted Phil's Heating and Air Conditioning and he came out later the that day. Quick troubleshooting determined that there must be a defective gasket in the exhaust plenum. Phil found the part number and indicated that he would get it on order. Several days went by and when I contacted him he indicated that the part was on backorder and he would contact me when it was in. A couple weeks went by and I again called only to hear that the part was still on backorder. Another couple weeks went by and again I called only to hear that the part has not come in and was still on backorder. I asked if I should look for the part myself to see if I could find it and, if I was able to find one, he could install it for me. I immediately found it on Amazon for about $14 and it was delivered two days later. I informed Phil that he can help me install it as it is a somewhat complicated install that I didn't want to tackle myself. After not hearing from him for another week or so I called again and he definitely committed to coming out on the afternoon of 3/16/2020. Again he was a no-show without a call. After waiting a few more days I decided to attempt the repair myself. A couple trips to Home Depot and the local hardware store I was able to install the new gasket and complete the repair.
Conclusion: I would not recommend Phil's Heating and Air Conditioning.

Phil talks a great game, but fails to deliver. But he does talk...
I could not and would not recommend Phil's service, as his ""service"" leaves much to be desired, except, of course, you enjoy being stood up when you leave work to meet him and he doesn't show up. Or call.
Unless you enjoy inquiring after him for months as to when the job will be finished.
Unless you enjoy hearing how busy he is and that he can't get good help.
Unless he tells you that you should have purchased a new unit after he finally ""finishes"" your nine + month ordeal of replacing parts and waiting.
Unless he tells you, three days after you've paid him, that he will not fix the aforementioned parts that he ordered and installed- because ""he recommended a new unit"" (neglecting to mention that he made that recommendation on the very last day you saw him.)
If those things are acceptable to you, OK, hire him. But they happened to me.
Don't go near this guy!

We love Phil's Heating. Our furnace went out on a freezing day and they were able to out within the hour. Very prompt, honest, and personable. If you have any HVAC issues, call these guys.

Terrible!! Do not use these guys!! Unable and unwilling to fix a furnace and air conditioning unit that was purchased from them!! They do not stand by their products!! Go somewhere else!!
