Ask about fees before you do anything. Better yet skip this one. First off on saturday day (not 3am or whatever) c alled for service, furnace wouldnt stay lit. 250 for that. Thought it was for a service call and 1st hour, most places do that. Okay fine. Tech was there for an hour, replaced flame sensor that was still good and didnt have the right pressure switch. Another 300. So they cant get back till tues., cuz a monday holiday. Alright fine. Break out the space heaters. Comes back with the part. 15 min later charges another 300 for that. (i could have done it myself if i could have gotten the part). My issue is that its not my fault if you dont have the right part. You didnt finish the job so i shouldnt be charged so much to complete it. Kim the owner will not budge an inch on fees.

I gave John half a dozen plumbing jobs to fix in an old house (e.g. replacing some DIY p-trap shaped set of PVC with... a p-trap; an abandoned sink with a leak, guarded by spiders and mold in the basement; adding a main shut-off valve, etc.) and he provided a clear and detailed itemized quote at fair prices. Within a few hours he had done a perfect job, and had also patiently answered lots of newbie questions about plumbing. And pretended to laugh at some awful jokes.

I don't really like calling the plumber, but give this one a try. For a good time, call Phillips Plumbing and Mechanical.

(P.S. He did miss the two-hour window they gave me, but called when he was on his way.)

DO NOT USE THEM!!!! Called them to ask about fee for disconnecting and reconnecting gas dryer. Woman on phone would not say how much it would cost. Even a general ballpark number. Said technician would have to come out. But once tech appears you now owe them $49. Then tech said it would cost $250 to disconnect dryer (took me 3 mins after watching a YouTube video), and $250 to reconnect (which I too did after $15 and a couple of trips to Durfees). Used to be honest company. Spent over $15k with them over the years. Not sure what has happened. Won't use them again.

On more than one occasion Phillips claimed to have assigned a plumber to my request within a two hour window who never showed up. They always had some excuse that the plumber was stuck on a job of called away on an emergency. Today, the operator failed to assign a plumber after I called 3 times for an emergency. I am done with these people, will never use them again.

My company was looking for a plumbing company to do numerous jobs we need done in Rhode Island and the broader New England area. We are a nation-wide subsidiary of a publicly traded company. I called Phillips Plumbing and Mechanical because the description they gave of their company's scope of work seemed to fit very well. They answered the phone politely, but before I could finish a sentence the lady rudely interrupted me and said that this is a business line for customers. I explained that we are looking to be a customer and have many jobs that we need to hire a company like theirs for, but I don't believe she was able to switch gears from rude mode, back to something that resembled customer service. When I explained that we were looking to hire them, be a customer, etc. she explained that they don't have any time to take on any customers. I'm still a bit bewildered, but I will certainly not make any effort to burden them with our company as a large customer.

I recognize that there are times when an employee loses their mind and/or professionalism and blows an opportunity for the business they work for. I hope in this case this was more than that. I would feel terrible for the owners if they were being sabotaged like that by an incompetent employee.

Very unhappy. Very expense. Had a clogged toilet and called them.
Technician plunged it and snaked it. It cost me $250.00. Took five minutes. I can't understand why it cost so much. I think it's time to look for a new plumbing company.

The absolute worst customer service! They cause an issue and charge you to fix it after claiming a 2 year guarantee on all new installments! What a joke! Over 14000 dollars later and attitude about how frustrated he is as well?! Never have I told a customer in my business I was frustrated as well for not doing my part right to satisfy them. I lost over 2000 in business for having to close two days due to their issue they caused with brand new installations! NOT WORTH THE TIME OR AGGRAVATION OF DEALING WITH THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY! Take your business elsewhere! Before I could write this review they also took advantage of a friend with their heating issue! Cost over 2500 for a half ass fix INSTEAD of being honest and letting her know best thing would be to fix piping issue and replace furnace. Now she's 8000 in a quote w 2500 in Philips pocket. Talk about poor business morals. Wish I did more research on their company before trusting a recommendation!

Very pleased with the service we received from this company. We went from a 40 gallon gas water heater to a tankless system. The owner John was upfront with the pricing and explained the whole process in writing. Technicians Mike and Adamo installed the unit and did an awesome job. They unhooked the old tank, installed the new unit, and fixed the tangled mess of pipes. Someone did have to come back to fix a small leak at the connector, but the staff was apologetic and no problems since then. I highly recommend this company. Friendly and super professional! We will definitely call this company for future maintenance.

I used them in June 2015 and they did great work. Professional, and honest. Good ethical company, part of the work was not needed since bathroom would be remodeled later, and they were honest enough to mention it and reduce costing for that. Using them again to fix Grey Water Plumbing issue. Great service, great follow through, good dependable people! Sadly moving away from RI, but rest assured, they do great work and GUARANTEE the work done, at fair prices.
