Very unhappy. Very expense. Had a clogged toilet and called them.
Technician plunged it and snaked it. It cost me $250.00. Took five minutes. I can't understand why it cost so much. I think it's time to look for a new plumbing company.

The absolute worst customer service! They cause an issue and charge you to fix it after claiming a 2 year guarantee on all new installments! What a joke! Over 14000 dollars later and attitude about how frustrated he is as well?! Never have I told a customer in my business I was frustrated as well for not doing my part right to satisfy them. I lost over 2000 in business for having to close two days due to their issue they caused with brand new installations! NOT WORTH THE TIME OR AGGRAVATION OF DEALING WITH THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY! Take your business elsewhere! Before I could write this review they also took advantage of a friend with their heating issue! Cost over 2500 for a half ass fix INSTEAD of being honest and letting her know best thing would be to fix piping issue and replace furnace. Now she's 8000 in a quote w 2500 in Philips pocket. Talk about poor business morals. Wish I did more research on their company before trusting a recommendation!

Very pleased with the service we received from this company. We went from a 40 gallon gas water heater to a tankless system. The owner John was upfront with the pricing and explained the whole process in writing. Technicians Mike and Adamo installed the unit and did an awesome job. They unhooked the old tank, installed the new unit, and fixed the tangled mess of pipes. Someone did have to come back to fix a small leak at the connector, but the staff was apologetic and no problems since then. I highly recommend this company. Friendly and super professional! We will definitely call this company for future maintenance.

I used them in June 2015 and they did great work. Professional, and honest. Good ethical company, part of the work was not needed since bathroom would be remodeled later, and they were honest enough to mention it and reduce costing for that. Using them again to fix Grey Water Plumbing issue. Great service, great follow through, good dependable people! Sadly moving away from RI, but rest assured, they do great work and GUARANTEE the work done, at fair prices.

After having an energy audit by RISE we decided to have a high efficiency boiler and water heater installed. Phillips was not the cheapest but we felt the owner was honest. However, when we were deciding where to put the new system in he basement, the owner should have realized or made us aware of the ramifications of the location. It takes longer for us to get hot water, especially in the winter because of the length of cold pipes the hot water has to travel through. First the hot water has to heat the pipes before it comes out hot. This is really inconvenient since one bathroom is located at the opposite end of the house. It even takes awhile to get hot water in the kitchen. When I asked them about it they are the ones that told my about the pipes. This is Philllips area of expertise, not mine. The techs who installed it were excellent, however. I agree with another reviewer who said they send comment cards and then ignore them. I had work done by them at another house and they were very high priced. It was like going to a card dealer to have work done, overpriced. Shop around, especially if you are having a new heating system installed.

My daughter called Phillips for boiler service. When the tech got to her home, he told her that the company services natural gas fired boilers only and not oil fired boilers.

Two issues: 1). the receptionist at Phillips did not ask about her boiler (you know, oil fired boilers are pretty common in RI) and 2) the tech charged her $50 for a ""service call."" In my mind this is OUTRAGEOUS.

We purchased a home in Providence RI in Jan of 2013. During our inspection the boiler clearly need replacing. Over the course of the summer I got seven quotes to replace the boiler, some cheap some expensive and some down right IDIOTIC!

Phillips plumbing was a pleasure to deal with, professional office staff gray techs and really awesome workmanship. They installed our new boiler converting from oil to gas and removing the oil tank from our basement. All the workers were conscious of keep the mess down and making sure everything was to our satisfaction before they left. The installation was really really nice work. I'm a mechanically minded person and a bit of a geek and the quality of the installation made me really happy.

We had a minor issue with the system a couple weeks after the install, it was an issue with the boiler itself NOT their work, they sent someone out within an hour of calling. It was also the same tech that had done the install so he was not only familiar with the job but made my wife more comfortable seeing a familiar face in the house.

These guy were not the cheapest quote I got but the quality of their work and the honest and really spot on communication was well worth the small premium we payed for them to do the work. I hope when you need plumbers you're lucky enough to stumble across an outfit as good as these guys.

I used Philips to install a new boiler in my home as part of the RISE heat loan program. When I called for an estimate, a very friendly and helpful receptionist answered and scheduled the appointment. I called several plumbing and heating contractors and at least half of the the calls went straight to voicemail. roughly half of those never called me back, so it was nice to speak directly with someone. The wait for the appointment was maybe a tad longer than I would have liked (about a month), but it was the same situation with several places I called.

The person who did the estimate was John, the owner of the company. The guy obviously knows his business, and his estimate was in line with the other ones I had received. What ultimately made me go with Philips was their thoroughness and their willingness to work with me to navigate the RISE heating loan program.

The workers managed to remove the old, hulking oil boiler from the confines of my basement and install the new one in a day. Not an easy job, and the quality of the work was excellent.

Overall, customer service and quality of work were excellent.

I wish that I had read the reviews online prior to calling this company. They charge a very high fee for coming to the house and then an additional fee for diagnostics.

To top that off their charge for fixing the problem is very high compared to other companies I have dealt with, but once you have them at your house and have committed to paying the initial fees, you feel compelled to just get the problem fixed.

I have dealt with many other plumbing companies that provide better service at more reasonable cost.
