Philco Plumbing was referred by the manufacturer for my Kenmore water heater which was recalled. First thing he did was tell me that the manufacturer recommends draining the water heater every year to prevent sediments from building up at the bottom of the unit, which may prevent the pilot light from igniting the burner; I'm not sure how that could be as the burner as well as the pilot are UNDER the unit. I kinda figured that this was a bit of a ""stretch"" of the truth. A few minutes later he told me that the bottom of my tank was about 1/7 filled with these bluish /green sand like crystals and that he couldn't guarantee that the pilot would stay on unless I paid him $75 to drain it. I could have drained it my self, but I though he needed to do something special to prevent the sediments that he showed me (which I now believe HE injected into the water spout of the water heater), from building up. He left the area a mess, and I was out of $75.00 for a repair that should have been free.

By the way, if anyone has a water heater that is on the blink, before calling Sears or some other place who will charge you a fee just to come out and tell you that your water heater has been recalled, check the serial number on your water heater against those on www.waterheaterrecall.com, input your model and serial number and complete the form to determine if your water heater is subject to this recall. I had some work done on my water heater a month ago that was under warranty my warranty department had me call Philco Plumbing I was able to get an appointment right away Phil came out on a Saturday morning was able to take care of the problem would definitely use again thank you very much.

Literally have nothing good to say about this plumbing company. Called Monday and set up an appointment for Wednesday between the hours of 12pm-3pm and he texted Wednesday on the day of appointment that he was finishing up early with a different appointment and if he could come earlier at 11:30am. I explained my husband is not home and I'll be off from work by 12pm-- coming straight from work I'll be there by 12:15pm. Mind you this is still in the time slot of 12pm-3pm in which we originally made the appointment for. His response: we will have to reschedule.

This is absolutely outrageous and no way to treat at customer. We have gone without hot water for almost a week now and he's asking to reschedule because I couldn't accommodate his request for coming earlier then the appointment time, This is absolutely absurd.

This was a recall issue. Efrem came out, showed up on the earlier side of the arrival window and got right to work installing the new Manifold Burner sent to us by the manufacturer. He also checked to make sure the water heater was clean, cleaned the screen inside, and installed a new gas valve. There was no cost as it was all covered by the recall. Efrem did a great job, was very professional, and polite. Very pleased with the experience.

My water heater was under recall. I had a lot of trouble finding a service provider. Phil can be a little brusque if you catch him at a bad time. I wish he would let it go to voice mail or hire a dispatcher. However, he went out of his way to help me. His technician, Ephraim arrived right on time, and fixed the problem. He was professional and nice.

I had a recall on my American Water Heater. Philco Plumbing was the authorized plumber to perform the job. I spoke to Phil, explained my situation, and informed him that we had been without hot water for 3 days. He said his schedule was packed, but, he would squeeze me in. His guy arrived the next morning, got the the job done, and we now have hot water! I read the comments about how rude Phil is over the phone. I didn't get the rudeness from Phil. What I got was a person who just wants bottom line details. Get to the point of your problem and he will do what he can to fix it. And that is exactly what he did. Thanks Phil!

I would not hesitate for a single moment to call Phil the next time I need a plumber again. I used another plumber that was highly recommended by Yelp (probably sponsored) in the past and was completely dumbfounded as to how there are so many positive reviews.
Phil is truly an honest, hard-working plumber and does great work. You aren't calling a plumber to be your friend, so I don't think the negative reviews on his soft skills should negate the quality of work he provides. We are all human and have our good days and bad.
He got my water heater back up and running in no time and I didn't feel for a second that he was untrustworthy or disingenuous.
Please, do yourself a favor and call Phil the next time you're in need of a great plumber!

Our hot water was out since thursday night (its tuesday today)...and after trying to fix the problem ourselves (mostly my husband) we got Phil to come and save the day today. He was on time...super sweet and got the issue resolved in less than 30 min...he even restarted the washing machine after he fixed the problem (he had to shut the water off completely while he was here and i was running a load of laundry)..i would recommend him for sure! THANK YOU PHIL!!!!!

How is this guy still in business? I'm a construction project manager and I have NEVER dealt with such a rude plumber. I would NEVER hire this guy to come anywhere near any of my projects.
