Don't call Phil Kerr's Plumbing, Heating & A/C. In late August about 5 weeks ago, they called me in response to an inquiry I made to their listing in the BBB, Better Business Bureau, of Lubbock. Our HVAC was not pushing out any cooling air out of the ceiling vents. The came out, twice, and supposedly "fixed" the problem, but now 5 weeks later we have the same problem. Read me story below - I would not recommend this company.

1st Attempt to Repair: 2 Kerr repairmen came out in late August 2021 and "fixed" the problem by replacing the motor fan of the condenser. They tried the unit out and it seemed to work. Shortly after, we left our home for the rest of the day. We returned late that evening. When we stepped into our home, the temperature in the house was 100+ degrees (super-hot, the heat was running, and the AC would not work).

2nd Attempt to Repair: the next day, same 2 repairmen came out and "fixed" the problem, again. This time they replaced a heater relay or some kind of control thing, or whatever. We paid them $675. For the next 5 weeks the HVAC system gave us cool air, but yesterday it quit putting out cool air again.

3rd Attempt to Repair - Maybe, we'll see: Today at around 8:30 pm I called Phil Kerr's Plumbing, Heating & A/C. I explained the problem to the receptionist [that we turned the heat on for 1-day last week when it was cold, and then when it got hot yesterday - Sunday, we turned the AC back on. However, like 5 weeks ago, NO COOL air was coming out of the vents]. She told me that all technicians were all out on calls, that they very were busy since it got cold last night, and were backed up for weeks. I told her my problem is the same issue that they attempted to fix weeks ago. She asked if our unit was just old, implying to me that "Hey guy it is an old unit, maybe you need a new HVAC". However, when their technicians came out 5 weeks ago, they did not recommend a new unit, they just replaced a part and charged me $675. Then she said they were a small company with only a few repairmen, and suggested I call another HVAC repair company. I asked to speak to a manager of the company as I was a past customer. She said there was no manager available, but she would have one call me. It is now 6:45 pm the same day, 10 hours later and no manager of Phil Kerr's Plumbing, Heating & A/C has called me back. I should not have to wait weeks for them to try again to fix a reoccurring problem, a problem they already "fixed" twice. I need a company with technicians who can diagnose a problem and not just guess and replace parts. If you need a good Heating and AC company, look elsewhere. Also, they don't give military discounts either; C J , retired LT COL USAF.

I paid $1200 for condenser fan installation on Sunday. That included 3 hours of $160 in overtime charges while the worker looked for the fan. As I called other HVAC companies one said he had the fan on his truck and if I had called him the total cost would have been $560. Call someone else!


The owner called a week later and made this situation right.
