I had a blockage in my house sewer line; first plumber was terrible, paid him and the problem never got fixed, once he got paid never looked back.
I called Ron at Petty's Plumber, he was professional over the phone and asked all the right questions to try to understand the issue, I like the process of illumination to find exactly root cause of the blockage.
Ron's response time was reasonable. scheduled the appointment on President day, came out on time, actually bit early and I respect the prompt and the respect that he showed me and to my tenant.
Ron was courteous and did exactly and was needed to be done, never exaggerated the issue, found it & fixed it. Price was on target!
The issue is clear and my tenant is happy, he also fixed the dishwasher issue at no extra charge.
I really appreciate his work, and I would love to recommend him to anyone that is looking for peace of mind when it comes to plumbing issue near Monterey.

I have been using this guy for years I can highly recommend Petty's Plumbing. I read all the Yelp reviews and there's one very long- one. That doesn't add up to me why didn't this guy use the other plumber? Can you have a problem with him too? If you're in an emergency situation and your sewer line is backed up making your rental unlivable you should just have a plumber fix it instead of having people give you quotes you probably knew you had this problem for a long time and now it's time to just get it fixed can have multiple companies give you a price when you're dealing with a problem before it's a huge problem. But if your lack of action let's a ongoing problem go unfixed until it completely stops working you just call a plumber and ask him to fix it now. If Ron doesn't get back to you call somebody else for god sakes. You're the one with the tenant living in a unit it's unlivable

Petty came out to give me an estimate of a bathroom remodel. We spent about 30 minutes talking about the project. Afterwards, I emailed him a diagram of the project. After waiting three weeks, I called. He said he had been very busy and would provide the estimate soon. It's been weeks now and haven't heard from him. Maybe the project was too big for him. In any case, I would not hire someone who doesn't follow through on step 1. If he didn't want the job, he should have said so.

I've worked with Ron twice. The first time was to clear a clog from the kitchen sink. The second was to repair a leaky toilet. I find him very quick to respond, knowledgable and swift to complete work. Thumbs up! Thank you Ron!

My duplex in Monterey had a clog in the sewer line as I was abroad. The tenants called Roto rooter and roto rooter was unable to unclog it.

I called a few local places on Yelp and left a few voicemails as no one picked up (including Ron). After going out to the property a day later, he was also unable to remove the clog and came out the following day to camera it. Upon his arrival the next day, another plumber was leaving who had come by to provide a quote.

Shortly after, Ron calls me to say that after 2 days of waiting to get a quote from him and 2 days of the tenants coordinating a time with him to go by, he is not going to provide me with a quote as there was another plumbing company there. Given the fact that the plumbing has been unusable for 3 days, Ron's response here has cost me and the tenants several days. On top of which I'll have to provide lodging for the tenants as I go through the same process with another plumber to get a quote from them.

This job is going to cost several thousand dollars due to breaking up of the concrete underneath the property so getting a few quotes is not only necessary but a must.

The house at this point is completely unusable and he has already assessed that. After waiting for 2 days, for Ron to simply leave the job without providing a quote for working on the issue is absolutely unprofessional. It either points to his inability to work on a large project or his lack of comfort with competition in the Monterey area.

Both of which are huge negatives to take into account.

the water closet in our shop had been ""out of order"" for quite some time before i arrived on the scene. staff had to go across the street, which required closing our shop each time...
petty's plumbing came right over, provided a good estimate of money and time, and fixed us up quickly the same day.
rose and ron were great to work with, by the way.

this is as good as it gets.

I have been using Yelp for years but this is my first time writing a review. I felt compelled to take the time to highly recommend Petty Plumbing as he took the time to give me exceptional, friendly and professional service. I had three fairly minor fixes but one of them required him to get a part. He returned the next day as promised and installed the part without charging me another service call. I really appreciated that. These days it's hard to find someone who returns calls promptly, gives same-day service, shows up on time and does the job right for a fair price. I highly recommend.
