I WOULD STAY AWAY!!! What a crazy and horrible experience! A long horrible experience! First I hired Petri thinking since they've been around for a long time and had decent reviews I could take a chance on them but I was wrong! They send 2 guys(1 being trained) who I will keep their names private for now and they screwed everything up. I had 3 air valves leaking and too much water in the boiler that needed to be brought back to it's normal level. When they came and looked at everything(they charge almost $90 to come out) they wanted to charge almost $1000 to change 3 air valves, to empty the tank and to change a glass on a part of the boiler but they brought it down to almost $800 after giving a discount so we agreed to have the job done. Now here is where they screwed everything up! The ""experienced plumber"" takes off all the old air valves goes downstairs and did something(he turned on the boiler but doesn't want to admit it to his boss lol) and water starts to GUSH out of where the air valves are suppose to be PLUS EVERY OTHER air valve in a 4 APARTMENT HOUSE! THE damage was horrible! They destroyed the 1st floor apartment ceiling, they caused a flood in 2 rooms in 1 of the 2nd floor apartments causing some of the items on the floor to be ruined and paperwork! The other 2nd floor apartment had their carpets soaked and dirtied from the ""experienced plumbers walking back and forth to check everything. In the 1st floor front apartment he caused flooding in the living room and bedroom and on the rear 1st floor apartment besides the living room ceiling almost collapsing they caused damage to an area of the bedroom ceiling and water damage to dressers! In the basement forget about it! Water all over the damn place and the water damage to the ceiling tiles we have down there and water all over our boxes. They asked to used our mop and destroyed it and cleaned horribly! But here is where they become a laughing stock! THE GUY who messed up gives me 1 story as soon as this happened and I GET NO CALLS FROM THEIR OFFICE to work anything out or to apologize I had to call and spoke to Chris who has his own version which is somewhat different from what his 'experienced plumber"" is saying but Chris assures me they will fix and compensate for everything but to make sure we pay for all the services once done lol OO and by the way ""experience plumber"" is saying the electric feeder needs to be replaced and that's the problem that caused the massive flooding..again a joke. So I agree and I leave work early to deal with THEIR MESS but as I'm literally a few blocks away Chris calls me and tells me our tenant turned off the boiler after ""his guy"" started to work on the boiler and is not allowing him to work! OK so I go right in to deal with this and when I get there the story is different again! My tenant tells me he just turned it off after the ""experience plumber"" turned it on because he wanted him to wait till I get there until anything else is done. So I asked the ""exp. plumber"" and he says YES he just turned it off a few seconds ago so I can't start work. Funny cause Chris tells me his guy was already working but the ""exp. plumber"" said he just turned it on and was gonna start to work on it. These little lies is what makes this experience more of a joke! Now let's move on...after taking pics and videos together and replacing the electric feeder and air valves the ""exp. plumber"" tells me ooo It's not the air valves that was the problem its some of the radiator valves(which of course are double the amount of the air valves) but we still will charge you for the air valves o__O...I call Chris right away and he wants to give a BS story how they change the air valves 1st and if its till leaking then they change the radiator valve because that's where the problem is but you will still pay for both. After telling him that makes no sense since the ""exp. plumber"" on multiple occasions said the air valves needed to be changed and that's the only place it was leaking from and never from radiator valves that's when Chris did the right thing and took that off my bill. We all know the reason multiple radiator valves started to leak was due to the pressure of all that water gushing out after the ""exp. plumber"" made a bad mistake! Now everything gets done and the bill is almost $2300 which is almost triple the original price and now include an electric feeder and 2 radiator valves plus the glass on a part of the heater that had to be replaced. Their is so much more to tell you and I wish somebody from Petri would say I am lying so I can post all the pics and videos. They sent people to work on the roof and did a good job, the people(WETOUTNOW) who came to ""clean"" the carpet did CRAP work! JUST STAY AWAY! Their not worth it! I wish I could finish the story so you people won't have to deal with the stuff I had to to deal with!

RIP OFF! While I understand that they charge a low ""service fee"" of $89+ tax that can be used towards repair, the quote then came back at $400 to replace one small elbow pipe under our kitchen sink. It should cost $100-$150 at most and the next place we called is charging us $100 in total. What a joke. We'll never call them again.

Just bought this house and it was always cold. I called Petri plumbing to know what was going on. They gave an appointment for the next day. 2 guys came, did a few things, told me that the boiler was too small and the pipes were also too small which was why the house could not warm up. I was charged $307 for only this. They did not do anything to fix the issue. When they came, my house was cold and after they left, it was still cold.
I hired someone else and it found out what was wrong. It was not the boiler that was too small nor the pipes but the thermostat that needed to be moved someplace else. Now my house is warm and the guy fixed the issue way cheaper than Petri Plumbing. One advice consumers, look someplace else if you don't want a rip-off.

Strato came into my apt to view my bathroom leaks. Came on time, inspected my bathroom and was out in no time with an honest assessment.
Highly recommend

I wanted a quote on a oil to gas boiler conversion, and they said they'd charge $89 for a ""service call"" just to do the quote. Nickel and diming on a $10,000 job -- not cool.

And btw Michael, thanks for suggesting I ""misunderstood,"" but I'm pretty I understood perfectly well.

I opted for Parkset -- they did a fantastic job for me, highly recommend.

Petri plumbing saved us after our other plumber misdiagnosed the leak in our ceiling. Four days of steady dripping later my friend recommended Petri who she has used for years. Great service! Strato came and found the real problem, fixed it and even called to check that all was Ok. And everyone was great to deal with.

I don't usually review businesses on Yelp, but Petri was so helpful that I felt I needed to share our experience. We needed to replace our hot water heater. Petri gave us a fair estimate and did the work exactly as promised. More importantly to us, we encountered unexpected problems due to building maintenance issues, and Petri's professional response really saved the day. We could have had a major problem, and instead we had no problem at all. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

After posting this review I received a thoughtful private response from Chris Petri, the owner of Petri Plumbing, apologizing for my experience and addressing many of my concerns. I'm still not totally sold on hiring them for a giant job, but it was a very nice e-mail and I will admit that of all the plumbers I've met with, they've been the most friendly and courteous. It's nice to know that I'm dealing with a company that takes customer service seriously.

Strato was our plumber. He arrived promptly, was prepared to complete the job and did so in a timely manner. I appreciate a professional that works cleanly, efficiently, and verifies the quality of his work. Strato exemplified all of those characteristics. His problem solving skills were also tested on this job and we were highly satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend him.

We hired Petri and not recommend their services. I like their ""corporate + professional"" attire and marketing. At the end of the day I hired a plumber via Craigslist and fixed the issues. A water tank piece was damaged and the solution from the ""pros"" was to buy a new one. I called directly to the manufacturer and sent me the part for free, saved $3000 for a new water tank. Then have more issues with flooding, and the answer from owner was...sorry there is no solution.. NOT RECOMMENDED.
