Several years ago we had Taylor Peterson ( himself) install 2 tankless water heaters. From the beginning we were not pleased with the wait for hot water but Taylor told us that it was working fine. Today we had another plumber come to service the units.
They are both installed too close to outside adjoining walls.
One vent is too close to the dryer vent ( 6"") And is sucking lint into the unit.
The outside vent should point down to prevent water running back into the unit. Ours points up slightly and the water has corroded the fan housing.
Taylor connected both units to undersized gas pipes so the units and starved for fuel and that it why the hot water took so long.
Also none of the pipes he installed had insulation as required.
The over flow pipe was sealed because the unit is too close to the door and there was no room for it so he just sealed it which resulted in more problems.
Decide for your self. It will cost more than $1000.00 to correct his mistakes.

I needed a pressure reducing valve installed on a short term rental, I called Petersen in the morning, and told them I was looking to have the job completed before a guest arrived at 3 PM.
To save time, I asked if it would be OK if I picked up the parts ahead of time. They agreed, and they even spoke by phone to the clerk at the plumbing supply house to make sure I had the right part.
Two men from Petersen arrived at 11:20 AM, did a major repair on my main water line, and were gone an hour later.
They billed me their minimum rate for one hour.
Excellent service. Couldn't ask for more. Glad to have met them as this is exactly the type of service I'm looking for. I wouldn't expect all repairs to be this prompt or smooth, but I was very happy with the way things worked out.

I needed a plumber badly, my kitchen sink was backed up. They got a gentleman, Juan to come out right away...He was fabulous, taught me a few things about garbage disposals and I learned a lot...go figure. I highly recommend this plumbing company....I spoke to Taylor on the phone to arrange someone to come out. He was as polite and accommodating and I am thrilled to add them on my Favorite List.....

I don't know what to think, exactly, about my experience with Peterson Plumbing. My water heater went out, and I left a message with them over the weekend. I got a call back early Monday morning on my way to work. We arranged to have someone come the next morning at 9:00 a.m. I had done a lot of research into plumbers in general, and replacing water heaters in particular. Many reviews said that they bought a water heater from Home Depot and had it installed by them. Perhaps that is what I should have done, since nobody else seemed to pay as much as I did to have it replaced.
Two guys showed up on time on Tuesday morning - Juan and another man whose name I didn't catch. He was a very quiet man. Juan, on the other hand, could sell ice to an Eskimo. He quoted me a price of $1500 and said that it was a very good price compared to any other plumber. I mentioned to him many times that all the reviews I had read led me to believe this was quite high. He assured me many times that they usually charge $1,800 and the price at $1,500 was ""giving me a deal."" At this point, with the water heater totally shot, I elected to have them replace it. These guys were at my house for almost 5 hours. They had to drain the old water heater and wrestle it out of the ""dungeon,"" which is what we have always called the room under the house that contains the furnace and water heater. Think uneven dirt floors dug out of the hillside beneath the house. In the meantime we were waiting for the new one to arrive. I looked up several online and showed them to Juan, but he never confirmed to me what exact model it would be other than a 40 gallon gas water heater.
When the new water heater arrived, they installed it in very little time. They had to bring it up to code and Juan mentioned that this was all a part of the price he was giving me. He actually wanted a car in my bottom driveway (Acura Integra) for his son to take to college in Sacramento. He made several attempts to talk me out of the car, saying he would give me $300 for it or work out some sort of ""deal."" I told him I preferred to keep the car situation separate from the plumbing.
Juan would not give me an itemized receipt. Is this some new way of doing business with plumbers, where they give you a hard price and only give you a receipt for that price? There is no indication of what exactly was performed for that $1,500. I may not be able to get reimbursed for this because it looks like I was not dealing with a reputable service.
If you count the $189 per hour that they charge, times almost 5 hours, that would be about $900 in labor. I suspect the water heater was somewhere along the lines of $600-$700. That would then make it almost work out. It would make me feel better to believe I did not get taken for a ride.
All of that said (and sorry for the novel), I believe Peterson did a good job and installed my new water heater correctly and safely, so I give them 4 stars for that. Maybe I am just unused to dealing with plumbers.

Unexpectedly discovered that we needed to replace our hot water heater. Checked Yelp and contacted three highly rated vendors. Taylor Petersen is a straight shooter. He offered straight-forward pricing that was very fair, and didn't try to sell me additional products (as opposed to another shop that tried hard to up-sell me for more than $1K!). The work was completed the next day. Petersen Plumbing is now our go-to plumber. Highly recommend.

I called Petersen Plumbing re: leaky kitchen sink and dishwasher. They came out, located the problem, fixed it and left! The whole thing took less than an hour. It was like the Olympics of Plumbing. I should have clocked it. I've never had anyone in and out that quickly. Thanks Petersen Plumbing!

Taylor, owner of Petersen Plumbing Services, has worked on our family home in Sebastopol numerous times. He is polite, courteous, clean, organized, fair, honest and knows what he is doing. I want to share our experience with Petersen Plumbing Services because I know that good tradesmen are hard to find. Petersen Plumbing Services is a best kept secret!

Very quick, thorough and helpful with our leak. he even took the time to ask and answer any other plumbing-related questions I had about the house, which was super helpful as a new homeowner. Will definitely be using again when future plumbing needs arise. Highly recommended

The word that sums these guys up for me is helpful. They came over and did the job same day at the price estimated. They figured out the problem and got it fixed. So I figured I would ask some other questions since they where here. They answered them and were very helpful. Highly recommend.

I just used Petersen to replace my water heater. They were efficient and reasonable. We do not have easy access to our water heater but they made it happen. Juan and Jr. left the space cleaner than they found it and paid careful attention to detail. Highly recommend!
