They have been to my house to work on my HVAC stuff for a few years now and everytime they come they are so rude, they wear their shoes all over my carpet. I have spent so much money with them and they treat me like I am the biggest garbage in the world. Will not use again

Don't call them! They charge $85 to show up and tell you how much more they will charge you to fix what you need. They overcharge, misdiagnose, and when I called to complain told me that that was their policy. In my case it was a water heater that needed a new thermocouple. I told them that was what I thought it needed. Greg came and offered to clean the pilot assembly for $200 (above the $85 for the service call), but said he couldn't guarantee that that would fix it. I called another company that came and replaced the thermocouple for less than half the price of Peterman. Calling Peterman is a waste of money, and I can't understand how they managed to get so many positive Google reviews.

This is for the plumbing service:

Very disappointed, we just had a faucet installed 60 days ago and it now leaks the cause is broke, my guess is due to being over tight. The cost the replace the whole faucet, $192.00 the cost to fix just the drain $319.00. We just had them install a new HVAC and have used them for several years for PM service. I guess I would expect more.

Update we did work out an agreement that we were both satisfied with

We just moved into our home from out of town and found Peterman Plumbing via Angie's List to look at the drainage for our sinks and the functioning of our water softener as we have never had one before. We purchased an Angie's List coupon for the service call for Peterman Plumbing. On November 13, the technician fixed the sink drainage issues but wasn't knowledgeable about water softeners. He said he needed to ""call a manager"" to help him ascertain the situation with our water softener. While I worked in my home office he came back upstairs and said it was full of water, defective and needed to be replaced and no repairs would help. He provided some quotes and left. Our family reviewed the quotes and sought a 2nd opinion who came by in a few weeks on December 6 to examine the water softener. The 2nd plumber agreed and informed us he needed to shut off the appliance immediately as it was continuously running water. A few weeks later we noticed our water bill was over $1,000 (normally around $200) due to an elevated reading between November 13 and December 6 and it was due to the Peterman's failure to shut off the water softener or let us know we needed to shut it off as our 2nd plumber did. After receiving the water bill, we spoke to a manager at Peterman and he was not sympathetic and quoted some insurance fine print language that they couldn't touch our appliance and do repairs without our permission. He had no explanation or apology. I told him if they had just told us the softener was using excess water and needed to be disabled we would have asked him to do it or asked him how we could handle ourselves and we wouldn't have such a large bill. We spent $1000 literally down the drain which could have gone toward a new water softener. We will never use Peterman Plumbing again and encourage you to stay away from their horrible service.

$400 to clean an air conditioner coil that was easily accessible when the tech was already there for something else. The tech was great, but I would absolutely avoid this company unless you have too much money and need to get rid of some.

EDIT: For Jaclyn

I am located in Indianapolis, not Illinois. It's generally not the best idea to assume a customer made a mistake in leaving a review.

It took a few trips to get oir issue resolved but the techs and Drew (plumber) were always friendly and apologetic. Better communication to these gentlemen woild have easily resolved the issue at least by the second time. Will use them again!

Peterman came at high recommendations from our home inspector and after having a previous service of the same machines that was inadequate and not informative of their actual conditions, we really needed an opinion we could trust for the final inspection before buying our home.

Their technician was able to respond incredibly quickly to our request and was so thorough and professional in his inspection. He found many issues with the systems in question that we were never aware of and suspect the sellers were never aware of as they were major safety hazards. We can't thank Peterman and their services enough for their assistance with our home heating system inspections and we will definitely purchase our new future systems with their company.

Their prices are very reasonable for the level of service performed.
