We got a written estimate from an employee of Petermans. He printed out the estimate while he was here and gave it to us to replace a 2 ton electric furnace. The estimate was for $4,200. The employee Kevin Mucho left a company folder with all the information about the company and the estimate and his business card. We had a repair done costing us $288.00. The company DID NOT provide an estimate for the repairs and the tech said this amount would come off the furnace installation. NOT five minutes after the employee left from the repair we got a phone call from Kevin Mucho telling the estimate he had given us was not valid. We have reported this to the BBB and the AG. asking for our $228.00 back. We are senior citizens and do not appreciate Deceit, Deception and Lies!! We feel we have been SCAMMED!!!

This company said they could work with my schedule. They couldn't finish the repair before I had to go to work because they had to pick up the part. The repair man said he would pick up the part and come back the next day to install it on my day off. I have been waiting all morning for them to show up but no show. I called them to see when he was going to get here but was told that another repair man took my part and they can't do it today. It is Saturday and my next day off is Thursday so I have to go with out heat for the next 4 days because of their mistake this was very unprofessional and would not recommend them.

Here is my disastrous experience with trying to schedule a service call with Peterman Brothers to repair our HVAC System.

In early July 2022, I had PB inspect our HVAC system at our home. They found an issue that will eventually cause our system to fail. They quoted me a price of $1,400 and said that if I called them within a month to schedule the service that they will deduct the $85 inspection cost from the bill to repair. I called them at the end of July to schedule the repair. When I called I was told to expect a callback from a Resolution Specialist to schedule my repair. The Resolution Specialist called back later that day and left a voicemail message. I called him back shortly after and left a voicemail message for him. He never returned my call.

Time marches on and no callback. So on October 11, 2022, I called again to schedule the repair to our furnace. Again I was told that a resolution specialist would call me back to schedule the repair. It's now Saturday, October 15 and I have yet to receive a call from Peterman Brothers. And to top it off, twice since my original call this week, I called to ask why I did not get a callback- each time they reassured me they the resolution specialist will call soon.

Their ads on the radio/ TV promise to expect excellent service. But don't you believe it!

After this experience- I will be having Williams Comfort Air service our HVAC system.

Actually they deserve a NO star rating.

My experience with Peterman Brothers has been nothing short of a disaster. Late last year (2021) our aged A/C system started to struggle. We waited until late spring to have the system serviced. we chose Peterman Brothers. The first technician that came to our home seemed knowledgeable, was kind and courteous and did a thorough inspection. We found that the heat exchanger was cracked and needed to be replaced before we used it again, he also tested the HVAC and said we should be good to go. We signed up for their gold service and knew that things might no go well when the first warm day came. Well, the first warm day came, turned the AC on and it did not work. We called Peterman and asked if the could send a sales a salesperson to our home, we needed/wanted to replace the aged system. The sales person was very good, we agreed upon replacing the entire system. A few days later the install team showed up and got to work. Everything seemed to be going well this day, they were having some struggles with the wiring, but assured us when they left we were good to go. We had purchased a top of the line product, due to the set up of our home, we went with a zoned approach. Install day was cool day, windows open as were the next couple of days. We turned the AC as we had a rather warm/hot day coming and no cool air. It actually was warmer inside that outside. We called Peterman, they sent someone right to discover the actuators had not been connected during install. This technician assured us we were good to go now, in and out in 20 minutes, house should cool down during the course of the night evening. It did not. It took 17 visits from Peterman, 17 days of coming to our home where someone had to be home, to get this system to work. Each visit was something new that was wrong. We had engineers, electrician, mangers, technicians, customer service people in our home. At one point there were 10 people at once in our home to figure this out and it still took multiple service trips and calls to get the system to work. I will say, Peterman rewired our home on their cost and ran new ductwork at their cost, but only after multiple visits and so much confusion on their part.

Now, 4 days after the install, our water heater decided to join the fun and quit working. At this point, we had not had any issues with Peterman Brothers, so we went with them to replace our water heater and we went with a tankless option. They check our gas meter, ran new gas line the water heater, and everything seemed fine. A few weeks later, we have family coming into town for our sons graduation party and they are staying with us. I walk out into the garage to find the water flashing red and no hot water. I called Peterman, they could not get someone until Monday, mind you were are now having them to our home on a regular basis for the AC system that is not working. My son, plays around with the water heater and gets it working for the weekend. We still have Peterman come out on Monday to check the water, as the HVAC team was already coming Monday, to find out they gas line itself they install was too small and the gas meter needed to be upgraded to allow more gas flow. Peterman Brothers did assist us with convincing the gas company to come out and upgrade the meter for us as they did not want to do this based upon our call to them.

After speaking with different managers and customer service folks, Peterman Brothers stated they were working on providing us with some money back for all of the issues we had and apologized. For 17 days of my wife or myself and my young daughters summer break of having to be home, Peterman called and offered $1500.00. We spent over $40k with Peterman in the matter of a week, then spent 2.5 weeks stuck at home while they figured out why they couldn't their system to work.

Then here are today October 7th. Its going to be in the low 30's tomorrow morning, so last night I turned the heat on for the first time and woke to a home that is was colder than when I went to bed. The heat exchanger, the A/C system and the water heater, not one product has worked. $1500.00 for half a lost summer, for time off of work, for frustration and bewilderment that the professionals with the 5 star guarantee could figure out.

If we could give negative stars we would, if we could warn all buyers to beware, we would. That $1500.00 dollar check that took three weeks for Peterman to send, is still sitting in my kitchen, in the window, as I find it funny this is the best Peterman can do.

Buyer beware of the 5 star joke that is Peterman Brothers.

How are these people still in business? Because they are buying up advertising time on news networks so when people have a plumbing problem, Peterman will be the name that comes to mind. It's a smart ad strategy. However, the workers are so dishonest and maybe it's because the commission is too good to pass up? I had 3 different guys..2 workers AND a supervisor all lie to my face and tell me I needed a new pressure relief valve. All I needed was a new gage for it. The supervisor tried to sell me a hot water heater that cost twice what one would sell for. I had a feeling he was ripping me off... I got one for less than half of what he quoted me. All I wanted was for one of the owners to call me so I could be heard. But they absolutely refused. So now, I tell everyone I meet that these people are the worst of the worst.

We needed something fixed within our water meter. Citizens Energy even told us how it could be fixed, we just lacked the skill set to fix it. Peterman quoted us $4600.00 and stated this was because they would need to excavate. This was false! We ended up having a relative come down to fix and it cost us a total of $10 for the parts that needed changing. NEVER going to Peterman again. Already $7000.00 in the hole with them over a different repair a few months ago. They probably scammed me then too.

I used this company for a plumbing/septic issue.
The first time they came, they were good. I called them for a follow-up twice and got no return call. Was unable to speak with the person that came to my house direct. They were suppose to come back and run a camera down the septic after it was pumped. NEVER SHOWED UP AND NEVER CALLED. I also have a membership with them for services that I will be cancelling!!!!
I do not recommend this company!!!

Similar to other reviews. Had a new unit installed yesterday (Thursday) in my house located in Columbus. Realized it wasn't working by Friday morning because the inside coil was completely iced over. **with a new unit**. Called 4 different times and got the same answer each time...""the earliest they can get out is Tuesday due to it being Labor Day weekend"". Either they failed to install properly, or it's a faulty unit. In either case the customer service of Peterman is lacking. This goes without saying, but obviously they should stand behind the install and their equipment and work to correct it in a timely manner (less than 24 hours max). You might get lucky, but do you want to roll the dice on cooling your home in the summer? Keep in mind, they won't hesitate more than 1 day to get a comfort advisor and install technician to your house because they prioritize taking your money over ensuring you have quality service or quality units.

I did however get more insight on the company and their best practices. I was told by the last representative that they no longer require on-call technicians, but rather make it optional to the techs. What this means is - there may not be a tech in your area that wants to make OT so you may be out of luck until your scheduled date (could be 4 or more days like in my case). Consumer beware, if you need quick service Peterman will not provide it.

My 81 year old father had signed up for a plan for yearly maintenance on the HVAC system. In December, the house was sold. He has been diagnosed with dementia and as his daughter have taken over helping with their bills. My dad had a recurring charge on his credit card for Peterman. When I would call them I would be told there team was busy and that I would need to email. I sent the email and asked for a refund for 8 months of fees. The responded and told me they had cancelled the membership and but would not refund the fees. Again I called the office and would be told that no one was available. After making multiple calls and telling them my father has dementia they still refuse to refund fees for services they could never have provided because the property was no longer owned.

I called this company out to inspect the line as to why I was having issues with my toilet gurgling. Two plumbers came out, one supervisor and one apprentice. They found that the trap pipe to the sewer outlet from the house was not glued down and one of the bushes near the the pipe had put it's root system into it. They cleared some of the roots, and some broke off and went toward the sewer. They ran a snake for both sides and thought the line looked clear, and I paid $159.00 for the drain clearing and to fix the pipe. Which is a fair price I think. They then called out a camera person to come and inspect the line. Everything up to this point was acceptable.

The camera technician came out and inspected the line. It appeared that the roots that broke off from the bush had stopped just short of the sewer line. Water was accumulating behind this blockage and water was slowly draining. She stated this was a belly or sagging in the pipe and that it would need to be dug up to correct the issue. She also stated that Hydro Jetting the blockage may fix the issue ($1,400.00 charge), but due to the sagging in the pipe it would to be dug up. She was able to quote me how much I would pay a month for 15 years, but was unable to tell me exactly how much the job would be while I was standing there. When I received the quote it was approximately $10k (which is fair for the work that she wanted to do). I told her I was going to get a second opinion, and she proceeded to explain to me that everyone else will say the same thing and it would cost the same. She made no attempt to try and get the blockage cleared by her company. I called two companies after she left and scheduled them for the next day.

The next day I had a different company come out and cleared the line for $93 with a snake without difficulties. They inspected the line and found no sagging, belly or standing water in the pipe. The other company also inspected the pipe and found no sagging or belly.

This company's has reached back out to me and it was to talk about the quote i was given. When I expressed to them I had the issue taken care of for $93 dollars they had a customer service rep reach out to me. The customer service rep was very polite and understanding of why I was frustrated with the company. They also stated that the issue would be resolved within through additional education. Which I feel is the correct approach. Unfortunately, from my personal experience, I am unlikely to use these services again.

*Short Version*

If you have time get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars. Attempting to get me to sign up for $10k worth of work when it only required a $93 dollars to clear the line is a little unethical. Also, I found out that the camera techs are not always plumbers and they do not always have plumbing experience. They work in sales, and it sounds like this is becoming an industry standard. Not really a problem as long as the camera tech is honest, but this can become problematic quickly.
