So helpful! 'Explained the work needed & showed me the fix he was making to adjust the hot water to the bathtub. He took a video of the work so I could do it myself if there's a need in the future.

Peter Levi's folks came out and replaced my dying furnace, and did it all in two days. One day they came out and diagnosed the issues with the old furnace. We reviewed some of the problems with the existing system, they proposed resizing a couple of ducts made repairs to ducting that had been compromised during a recent remodel. I think we got lucky with scheduling but they were able to come out the next day and took care of the whole furnace replacement and duct upgrades, all by 3pm.
They helped me schedule the furnace efficiency testing (HERS) required by the city for new furnaces and then directed me on how to do the city inspection. The city inspector said the sheetrock around a duct going into the ceiling in the garage needed to be tighter. Peter Levi had a guy over to fix that the next day. at no additional charge.
I've talked to their folks on the phone, I've dealt with the lead assessor, the estimator and a couple of different crews. Everyone was articulate, professional, responsible, proactive. I've worked with a bunch of subcontractors having completed a remodel recently and I was really impressed with the all the folks a Peter Levi. I will use them again.

HVAC system doesn't work right, and customer service is worse
Peter Levy Plumbing installed a new HVAC system in our home last summer. The installation team was great--fast, polite, and efficient. No complaints there. But since then, it's been a masterclass in avoidance, and unkept promises.
The system still doesn't work properly. Around the holidays, we noticed heat wasn't coming through the vents--just cold air blowing nonstop. Our December PG&E bill? $600.
A technician came out and floated two possible causes: either a single vent being covered by a Christmas tree skirt, or insufficient air intake. Either way, he said the furnace was overheating and shutting itself off (while the fan kept running). He adjusted an internal threshold and said it wouldn't happen again. It did.
In January, another tech came out (again, nice guy--but being nice doesn't heat a house). He identified the actual problem: insufficient air intake to properly cool the furnace, triggering the shutdown. He also told us that the additional intake they added--and we paid for--during installation was still too small and needed to be enlarged.
His temporary fix? Disable stage 2 of the heater so it wouldn't overheat, even though that meant the system would take longer to heat the house. So now we have a brand-new, downgraded HVAC system that doesn't do what it's supposed to. He said he'd talk to ""the team"" about next steps and follow up regarding enlarging the intake they added last summer.
That was mid-January.
Weeks passed. Nothing.
I called. The office staff is polite but powerless--they ""pass on messages, but no one follows up. I was told ""David"" would get back to us. He didn't.
Eventually, David texted my husband. My husband called him back, got voicemail... and then, again, nothing.
When David finally responded, he told us they could enlarge the intake for $400, calling it a ""discounted price."" Let's be clear: they sized the intake incorrectly during install. Why should we pay to fix their mistake? If they'd gotten it right the first time, it wouldn't have cost a dollar more than what we already paid. David said he needed to talk to his boss about it.
That was March 3rd. It's now March 24th. Still nothing. I've called multiple times since--every time I'm told David will call back ""right away."" He never does.
The most recent call? The woman who answered didn't recognize our name, address, or phone number--despite all of it being in their system for months. Instead, she asked me to spell my last name and ""what's a good number to reach you,"" then promised (again) to ""pass it along to the team.""
Meanwhile, we've paid two straight $600 utility bills for a brand-new HVAC system that still isn't functioning at full capacity.
If they had sized the intake correctly the first time, it wouldn't have cost more. But now they want us to pay again--and they can't even return a phone call?
Save yourself the stress. Go with a company that does quality work and stands behind it. Peter Levy Plumbing is not that company.

Great experience. Diagnosed quickly and done with care.

Peter Levi installed my new furnace & water heater and did a perfect job. The installation crew, Ray & Christian , were very professional, nice, clean, and most importantly clearly really good at their job! They got both units in in one day, always told me in advance when they needed to shut off water, and cleaned everything up. It was like they weren't even here! David who provided options was clear in explaining options & pros/cons of each. While not cheap, they are a great value. Peace of mind of a job well done for decades to come! I reco them for furnace & water heater replacement for sure.

Jordan from Peter Levi Plumbing was courteous, professional and attentive. The company seems well organized. Turned out my blocked sink wasn't blocked after all, and they were kind enough not to change the full fee. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that I received a call from Jordan as he was on his way, telling me that prior approval was required from the owner of the building. This should have been mentioned when the appointment was scheduled at the beginning of the process, especially since the landlord is not local and can be hard to reach.

Wanted to charge $77.00 estimate service fee just to come to my house to see what work needed to be done.
Then they would charge an additional $$$ charge for the work that was to be done. Outrageous.

We recently had an encounter with a fella by the name of Dustin Massingill, who my husband was VERY impressed with. After conversing back and forth having ""guy chatter"", Dustin gave my husband his business card. We recently acquired an apartment complex, that needs major renovation, and Dustin assured us that his company could definitely help us out. We look forward to doing business with your company. Both my husband and I found it refreshing to encounter someone passionate about who they work for.

I thought I might have a leak, but didn't. Not sure I needed a service call for that. They came on time, checked everything and that was it

It's never fun to find out you need a near total sewer repair, but if you do, hire the best.
Our Eichler (as they seem to all do) started showing signs of serious sewer issues. We knew from a home inspection, the lateral was in rough shape (large sag and separation in the original Terra cotta!). But then the kitchen line failed to the point it couldn't be snaked and the main line also had root encroachment and a failed spot under one of the bedrooms.
I got 3 quotes, including camera inspection and various proposals.
We went with Peter Levi.
Why?
They were exceedingly professional from quote to clean up. Ultimately, I can't believe how smoothly this large project went. On budget and under time. Wow!
Jason Glass, the lead who gave us the quote was knowledgeable, responsive, and treated us like actual humans, not just another job.
He was able to get multiple crews on site and turned a 7-10 day job around in 5.
The guys on site were friendly, courteous, and clean inside and outside of the house. Christian and Jeremy listened to us, patiently explained certain things and gave us a realistic timeline and updates along the way. Their work passed local inspection easily on the first try - helping again minimize our displacement.
They left the place literally better than they found it. Replacing and leveling our front walkway that had been trenched under. They even put out my garbage bins one night since we decided to stay in a local hotel a few nights during the project.
Stuff like that goes a long way in my book.
Thanks guys!
