Over 68 years ago, Pete Borman started this family-operated plumbing company
when he recognized a demand for a skilled and trustworthy plumber in the community.
In 1972, Pete transferred ownership to Al Price (his son-in-law) and Jerry Klasky (a long-time employee).
By 2007, Al acquired Jerry's share of the company.
Today, Chris, Pete's grandson and Al's son, is at the helm of the family business.
We are proud to be a third-generation plumbing service.
When Chris is away from the office, Janet ensures everything operates smoothly.
Your patronage means a lot to us, and we are always available to help our past, present, and future customers.
Chris joined Pete the Plumber in 1986, starting as a novice plumber.
He worked diligently, earned his plumbing license, and progressed to general manager.
Chris aims to offer the highest quality service and go beyond what his clients expect.
He believes the best compliment for Pete the Plumber is a referral from a friend, colleague, family member, or neighbor.
Since 1945, we have focused on ""word of mouth"" advertising and still consider it the best compliment.
We emphasize honesty, reasonable pricing, being on time, and clearly outlining procedures to our customers.

Recommended Customer Reviews

This company was recommended by a realtor I work with and am I happy they did. Water was seeping up from our downstairs toilet. When I called and spoke with Janet, she said more than likely there was some stoppage in the line. She made some suggestions on how to mitigate the problem before they were able to come over. She coordinated with my tenants to arrange a time window for the plumbers to come over.
The diagnosis was spot on and they were able to resolve it to my satisfaction. They arrived within the designated time and did the job with excellent results. I will definitely use this company in the future. They were professional, friendly and helped me with what could have been a difficult situation.

Two guys came out and couldn't identify the make of the bidet. They asked me to research it and get back to them when I knew the make. After a few weeks, I got a call saying they would have to pull out the hardware to find out what make it was and they would not be responsible if it wouldn't go back together or if they couldn't get parts. New fixtures would probably be involved. I called another plumber and he took one look, told me it was a Kohler, and preceeded to fix it. He said it was a minor adjustment and didn't even have to take it apart. He was here 20 min. and charged me 60.00. Its been 2 months now and it's working perfectly. Meanwhile I was billed (and paid), Pete the Plumber $99.00 for a service call (for nothing).
Don't use these people.

It was tough to find a new plumber that actually shows up, does the job, returns calls and does a follow up -- but I have found it in Pete the Plumber. The office staff is friendly, works to accommodate and the plumbers are nice and professional. I'm a property manager and it's a relief to find someone who does great work that's also so responsive. For an extra charge, they were willing to come out to the beach as well. I will be using them for now on.

We have aging plumbing in our aging Canyon House. A few years ago, I thought we were going to have to replace plumbing when the line from our kitchen was completely clogged. I called one of those advertised services. While polite, they couldn't do it. By chance, Tashman's Hardware recommended Pete's. I've now used them for about 4 years on an annual basis. Each time, they politely tell me I need to change the plumbing but there is no sales pressure. Stupidly I strayed from them when a blockage ocurred on the weekend. I saw great reviews for a guy who did weekend calls. What an expensive mistake. He didn't get to us until Monday and he was almost double the price. He also turned a slightly leaky u joint into a broken one. I know those things can happen and my husband easily replaced it, but I realized later that the broken u joint meant he didn't check his work on the clog. (He didn't tell me the joint had completely broken. I discovered it after he left. Had I known I would have run a garden hose in the line to check it) After my husband fixed it and I ran the dishwasher, I discovered not only had he not cleared the line, he made it worse. When I texted this guy, he said he'd make another house call for an additional $160.00. I couldn't believe it. I then called Pete the Plumber told them what happened and they sent their guys out that day. For $90.00 they undid the now completely clogged line after a lot of sweat and grit. They then cleaned up afterwards, and knowing I don't like harsh chemicals, left with an advisement to put a half gallon of vinegar monthly to try and keep the line clear.

I have used Pete the Plumber for both small, reset toilet/replace wax ring, and large, A/C drain line replacement, jobs and they are simply the best in the business! Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely reasonable prices. I have tried other plumbers in the past; been lied to, upsold, and overcharged...nowadays I only call Pete the Plumber for my plumbing issues.

I called around a bit to get some pricing before reaching them and they were fairly priced so I gave them a call. They sent someone out to check a leak we had and was surprised how quick they where able to come. Turned out it was a couple parts to replace. It was quick and once again, very fair on the price comparing to most plumbing services in my area. I definitely recommend to someone with any plumbing issues!

Even though mgmt responded to my yelp review with a ""we will look into it"" they most certainly did not reach out to me after said investigation. Pfft... more lip service than plumbing service.

I used Pete the Plumber for 13 years. They always had good service and the average plumbing prices. The last two times I used them they totally jacked up their prices with false charges. I will never use them again! Watch your billing if you do,use their services!

Pete's is absolutely the best. I've used them for years -- can't see using anyone else. They are honest, will never try to convince you need additional work. And they're fast!! They're usually able to get out very quickly and get the work done just as fast. I just can't say enough good stuff about Pete's.

The plumber who came out was very nice, professional, and did his job very well, however, the customer ""service"" agents I spoke with, were less than helpful. First, I'm told that they tried calling me 3 times in the morning and they got, ""busy signals"" to give me a heads up on the plumber's whereabouts, which couldn't be true becauseI have a working cell, nobody has ever had that issue, THEN, after only about 35 minutes of service I'm charged $135 which ""includes"" travel time. Anyways, the big issue here was the attitude of the ladies taking the service call. Very rude, quoting me $90 but charging me extra for ""travel time"" when it only took the plumber like 15 minutes to finish everything, and then I had him answer a few questions so total 30 minutes... Bottom line, it was the travel time from West Hollywood to Santa Monica that cost me more than the quote. I would recommend going more local next time, if I only knew I would get an extra charge when I was told that that charge would be included in the order for the $90, I most certainly wouldn't have used these people. Should have been $90 for everything, INCLUDING travel time. bottom line.
