I had Permaseal do some work at my residence about four years ago and was happy with the result. I was experiencing some leakage in the basement again but not from the areas they repaired. I was very happy with the consultation and the work was just performed today and I was very happy with the crew and the crew leader. They arrived promptly as promised and spent about eight hours at my place. They were very polite and were working hard. I would use Permaseal again... But I hope I won't have to

Douglas Blevins came out to give me an estimate on concrete lifting and concrete sealing. He was prompt and professional. The installation crew--Bryan and Rich ?--were top notch guys. The pump on the machine broke during installation and Bryan spent well over an hour reaching out to his peers to attempt to fix the problem. Unfortunately, the pump couldn't be repaired on site and a second visit was required. Day 2, Bryan and Rich showed up again--on time during a terrible heat wave--and completed the job perfectly. It's been a very long time since I've seen two young men work that hard and remain so professional. The job is perfect and I'd recommend Permaseal for concrete lifting.

Douglas Blevins came out to do an estimate. Never said they couldn't raise the corner of the driveway
Dug it up and left it. I kept a part of the bill as a deposit but never heard back. They said I would get a $50 gift card for the referral but that didn't happen either! Not a responsible contractor.
Update. Mr. Blevins manager called and sent me the $50 referral check. Concrete is tepaired and the driveway is as promised

Total internal communication brake down by Perma-seal. Which will now cost me hundreds of additional dollars because of the days of work. I had a job which required a specialty pump. It took 3 weeks to schedule. The plumber showed up today without the pump and no prior knowledge of the type of job to be done. He told me the pump was never ordered. Horrible customer experience. I have hired Permaseal several times prior and will not do it again.

Permaseals regular checkups are good for peace of mind when you have a nice finished basement.

I saw Gene Krukowski today and he was professional, friendly, informative and effective.

Consultation went fine. The sales person, Greg Johnson, gave us a good quote, was patient and answered all our questions over the course of 2 or 3 visits and several phone calls and e-mails. I ended up getting a new sump pump, getting some basement cracks injected, and getting my down spouts extended and buried.

The crew showed up on time but immediately things got stressful. I was getting wall liner installed, per the contract I had signed, but the foreman was confused because he said they would normally install wall liner in conjunction with a drainage system in the floor which I did not order. He seemed to think getting the wall liner without the drainage system was pointless. So now I'm being made to think I've wasted my money. He calls Greg and we both end up talking to him. Long story short Greg is sure the wall liner alone will help to prevent moisture seeping through. But what a terrible start to the whole experience.

The real kicker was the end. The foreman said they were all done and right in front of me is a downspout that has neither been extended nor buried. I point it out to him and he tells me the contract stipulates a set number of feet of downspout extension and burying, not a set number of downspouts to be worked on (I have 5, they'd done 4). I had specifically wanted all 5 downspouts extended and buried and told as much to Greg Johnson at the consultation. I trusted that the number of feet specified in the contracted included or was enough for all 5, not 4, downspouts as Greg and I had discussed. Apparently it wasn't. I called Greg and he basically sided with the foreman despite what he and I had specifically discussed. If I hadn't made a stink to the foreman he would have left it unburied. He ended up connecting the downspout to the sump pump discharge line which accomplished the same purpose of burying the downspout and getting the water away from the house.

Additionally the location and ""lay"" of a particular downspout extension was TERRIBLE. Where the water actually came out was an almost literal bowl shape at the edge of my mulched garden bed where it meets the lawn. So instead of water running downhill through the lawn to the street, it pools up in the garden bed at the edge of the lawn making the garden bed all soggy. WHY DIDN'T GREG NOTICE THIS? He's supposed to, you know, consult at the consultation. Not take orders like a pastry chef. Where was his years of expertise then? Why didn't he help me pick a better spot? I readily admit I picked it and made a mistake, but I've never done this before. He has. Why wasn't he doing his job and advising me like he was supposed to. Now I have to get one, possibly two, of my down spouts extended and buried further so my garden beds don't turn into swimming pools every time it rains heavily. You can bet I won't be hiring Perma Seal unless they do it for free or give me a serious discount to make up for their BS.

On top of all this, Greg, my main point of contact and the one person I knew and trusted enough to say yes to Perma Seal in the first place was nowhere to be seen. He didn't show up all day and after I called him a week later to complain he made no apologies about the fact that this is how the company works. Basically the foreman and a bunch of other strangers who weren't present during your lengthy discussions of what you wanted to accomplish show up at your house and get to work based on a contract that, as I discovered, may not entirely reflect what you and your consultant actually discussed. Horrible customer service, horrible communication, and no caring or compassion for the customer once they have your money. Utterly awful.

Update: Apologies for the long delay, but long story short Perma Seal did everything they could to fix the issues, and did so within a month or two of my complaints on yelp and various other web sites. They installed, for free, a better solution for the front yard down spout that went underground. There is no longer water pooling in my garden bed. It doesn't fix everything, namely the experience, but they fixed everything they reasonably could at this poinThank you.

Had Perma-Seal out today to address an issue. Jerry came out and gave our situation a thorough going over. What we thought was a leak was actually just a stain on a floor joist. He showed us it was bone dry and that we have nothing to worry about. Thank you for your honesty and peace of mind! Priceless!

We have been getting ground water seepage into our basement heating vents (in-slab HVAC) for the last 2.5 years & after trying many different fixes & exploring & researching our options with several companies, we decided to go with Perma-Seal. On the day of the appointment, the crew arrived on time and got to digging....a lot of digging! Marco & his crew were neat & professional as they installed drain tiles on the interior & exterior of my house. Once done, electrician John W. came in & ran new electrical for the newly installed sump pump & pit. Finally, Mariano & Jesus finished off the job by installing custom window well covers. The whole crew worked tirelessly to get the job done...in less then 3.5 days. The job was completed less than 1 week now but there hasn't been any major rains. We used to get the water seepage after a heavy rain or a big defrost of snow. I am happy that we finally got the work done & am actually looking forward to the next big rainstorm.

***Forgot to also mention John, who walked me through the set-up of the newly installed basement defender. He made the set up simple and answered all of my questions.

I was just glad to get the whole thing over with. First a salesman came out and made a recommendation. Nice guy, seemed knowledgeable. They give you some sales pressure; there's some meaningful discount if you sign today (or within 48 hours, or whatever). Then there's the contract. You know it's a bit of a dodgy business (on both sides) when they require you to sign a lengthy contract. This is obviously a business where customers sue vendors regularly. The contract seems to be designed in anticipation of your lawsuit and is completely one-sided.

I thought that my salesman was giving me the one definitive answer to my problem, but as things turned out I ended up with a different salesman. His solution was meaningfully different.

So I accepted the proposal and signed the contract. The installers came out and seemed to have done a good job-- there hasn't been enough rain so far to give it a good test. But be prepared for the installer to try to upsell you. He'll almost certainly find some issues like undiscovered cracks in the foundation which can be fixed right then and there for about $300 each.

And good luck if you need to reach them with a complaint. I tried for several days and not only could not reach a live person at their business phone number, but couldn't even get a call back.
