okay, last review of my personal experience. Well, it's 1/22/16 from 10/22 15. I had to bring in BBB. I only got as far as I did because of them. Hint if you aren't getting responses from this company call BBB. Perma-Seal respnods when BBB are involved.

I'm still dealing with Perma-Seal. They final came out and did rework 12./18/16. The rework was the breaking up the concrete again and fixing the drainage to the sump pump. Yikes. So, my basement was torn up for Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you plan to have work like this done by another company or this one, don't do it in November or December. Clean-up can be a bear.

On going issue, the manager/supervisor said he would compensate me with $300 for the rework we had to do in the room that was already cleaned & painted. Well, on 1/20/16, I was still waiting for this compensation and asked that they pay to have my exercise equipment serviced at $140, because they had to dig up concrete in a room that I didn't expect that much work to be redone. I asked the supervisor to cover the equipment, he said they would. After they finished, I went in the basement and there was so much dust on the equipment my clothes and boxes in the storeroom there was no way they could have covered things properly. I took pictures of the room and sent them to main office. They told me that the equipment was covered and quoted their contract that dust wasn't their responsibility.

So, it ends with them wanting me to sign a document agreeing to $300 and not to publicly or privately disparage their company. They wouldn't pay $140 to service my equipment. We paid over $9,000. Three hundred dollars isn't enough for their bad work and customer service and to called a liar.

So, basically the experience was so bad: We told them to keep their money and we'll keep letting people know about our experience.

My mother needs this work done, too. Guess, who's not getting a call to do the work.

These guys are Great! Last month with all of the rain we had our old sump pump was working overtime and at the worst time over the Holidays! We were worried to leave the house and go out of town to visit grandson and kids for Holiday!
Ken Porter came out and looked at the situation and came up with a solution! Unfortunately due to timing they originally couldn't install until after the Holidays which meant No Family visit for Holidays! Ken called his boss and explained our situation and he moved around Ken's schedule in order for him to come back the next day ""New Years Eve"" and install our new system which works great!

If I could give you a no star rating I would. First we had to wait forever for an appointment, then you called to tell us we had no appointment. We had to scheduled yet again for a third time. The day before you were scheduled to come out to do an estimate we get a phone call telling us you can't work in our city limits. You had our address the ENTIRE TIME and the conditions for which we needed an estimate. You wasted our time and frankly lost our business for the future of all permaseal retailers, which has worked with us in the past, so basicly your full of shit or completely incompetent and neglectful/disrespectful of other people's time. Your loss on a potentially significant income for permaseal.

I had researched my issues well before calling the company and knew what we needed and wanted done. We had some other bids for the job as well. The man who came for the bid was early for the appointment. He understood the issues we were having. The day of the work, the crew was also very professional. They did a thorough job with the repairs and cleaned up well after they were done. They also double checked the crack repair with water test prior to leaving to make sure it was water tight. In reading some of these other reviews, it seems like the homeowners did not understand the work needed or the problem in their own house before entering a contract. You don't have to do everything they recommend--it is your responsibility as the homeowner to do your homework every time you call a contractor in to do work on your home!

Well, it cost me $800 for their first attempt at the problem, which wasn't the problem, then another $500 to fix what was the problem--no Credit was given for the $800 down the drain.

They're not a bit timely when it comes to appointments, and you'll be lucky if one of the repair men speaks English.

This place is such a rip off. I contracted with them to change my crawl space system to their pvc drain tile. They said $2,500.00. Then the day of work, 3 workers showed up for 2.5 hours and that was it. I was in shock. I was assured by the company I am paying for a warranty for 25 yrs. I said to them with their $200 in materials at the most they were charging $267 per man hour. This is highway robbery. They pray on desperate homeowners that are at their mercy just trying to keep their basement or crawl space dry and healthy. I advise anyone thinking about using Perma-Seal use a different company or at least get 2 or 3 estimates from other companies. Now for the real shocker. I still have a wet crawl space. They are shysters and cons. I really hope you don't get bamboozled like we did.

Perma Seal had US and then LOST US!

Lesson learned. On 8/14/2015 we had Perma Seal Sales person come out and give estimate to seal crawl space. Sales person was likable, and very professional. THEY had us! My husband leaves decisions to me, we both listened to presentation and watched the video.

We both work are very busy and are ready to list and sell our house.

Sales person told us if we signed contract the day of presentation there would be a 5 %discount. Not very impressed with this pressure tactic,but we still liked them, my husband gave salesperson cc # for 1/3 deposit. We did not sign contract and he assured us that contract could be cancelled within 48 hours.

We then on the same day called our realtor and discussed things with neighbors and a Perma Seal Competitors. Everyone made us believe that what we were buying/ installing was overkill and not really needed for a home that would be sold soon.

I didn't care, I liked Perma Seal. Until I called them the day after the visit to schedule service and ask questions. Here is what transpired:

1# CSR that don't speak English.
2# CSR that could not understand English
3# CSR that spoke English with REALLY bad attitude, NO information about scheduling procedures or timeframes. ( called 4 X)
4# NO Managers are available EVER!
5# CSR's are not trained to do anything other then pu a phone and maybe take a message..
6# Called my salesperson got VM indicating VM box FULL! No call back!!
7# Called District Manager Dan Schoendorf 630 241 8831- NO return CALL!
8# At that point my husband called them to cancel our verbal agreement and asked for a refund.
Today 8/28- 2 weeks after the fact we still have not received our credit, called Perma Seal and was told by Martin: He would submit another request. On the BBB web page it asks to contact Mr. Schoendorf. Well, supposedly one of the owners of Perma Seal is on The BBB Board. They have so many complaints how can they have A+ rating. Shame on you Perma Seal for taking people's money and not returning it in a timely fashion. I WILL get MY $ back, but I feel sorry for all the customers that are getting screwed by Perma Seal. They have NO emergency#, 0 ZERO customer service. I work in the financial service sector, and GOOD service is paramount in this economy AND always. I really hope our sales person finds a job else were soon. ALSO, I am so very disappointed because my buddy Lou Manfrodini seems to like these guys. I am definitely going to let him know what happened to us. My recommendation to Perma Seal: Stop spending so much on advertising and hire more professional CSRS. Spend more on training for your crews, having this type of experience at the beginning I don't even want to imagine what your installers are like. Integrity and pride should be first and foremost in business. I have nothing against people from foreign lands, I am from Europe myself. I do have issue when they don't learn the language and make it difficult for me to communicate,

I wish I could give this company zero stars. They have completely messed up the work they did at my parents home. This has been an on going issue for two years. They refuse to correct their sloppy work. I can not believe they are still in business. What type of company sends out a manger to inspect the work, who then acknowledges the work was not done correctly and then does absolutely nothing to repair it. If fact they sent my parents another contract for $1000 to fix what should have been done correctly in the first place. Unbelievable!!!

Do not under any circumstances use this company. Take your money to a reputable business.

I had them install sump pump and found out tonight, Saturday, that they have no emergency service. That's dumb, especially when they have plumbing company. If i had used my plumber for install that would not be a problem. Good thing I could find problem or basement would be full of water by Monday. Thanks permaseal.

This company is so incompetent they can't even handle scheduling in a 2 hour window. I had to take a day off work to be home for a scheduled appointment from 9-11 and I get a call at 10:00 that they are over scheduled and won't be able to get to me just to assess the problem. As far as I'm concerned. I got no apology whatsoever, so call back to express regret about their mistake. A company incapable of handling the simple task of scheduling an appointment certainly can't be trusted to perform complex work, and judging from all the bad reviews here, that's clearly the case. I'm glad in the end this happened, we elected to go with a local Chicago firm instead of these guys and so far so good.
