I was disappointing with the work that was done on my patio. They told me they could lift the step in front of my patio doors and level the patio it self. Well they did a fairly good job on the patio even-though it wasn't completely level. They tried lifting the patio step but only raised it about and inch and at an angle which made it worst. The Tech told me he couldn't raise it any more. I called the sales Tech and ask if he could come by and see the work that was done. When he came by he agree that it could have been done better. He told me he would contact his office and would call me later. After about a week he called me and told me he was going to schedule a Tech to come out and finish the job. When the Tech showed up he told me that he had tried lifting it before and he couldn't go any higher, it was stuck. He told me he would try again but it might break the step and there was no guarantee. At that point I ask for a refund. He called his Boss and he said he could do that. I did get a refund but not much and I still have the problem with the step being too low. The step was the main reason I hired Perma-Seal and they didn't come through with what they claimed they could do.

Jesse came over to check the basement where Permaseal installed wall liner 2 years ago. He said he checked the sump system, overall structural conditions, leading to the assessment that there are fixes that need to be made. He suggested that I install Perma-dry dehumidifier, Permaseal custom window well cover, and replace the water heater with Permaseal product - for a little over four grand. My only gripe was that I was given an impression of urgency (do it now or basement will be flooded), in such a small time window (do it now for the best deal). I was put under pressure and I didn't remember what hit me until he left, there I was standing in front of the dehumidifier that cost me $2000 that I paid with credit card, I'm now $2000 poorer off the money I didn't have. I didn't think much of it until hours later when I called and tried explaining that I felt pushed into purchasing right at the moment - a few calls later (Jesse, a rep, manager) of course, it's buyer beware, everything that's been open/ turned on cannot be returned (Amazon anyone?). Lesson learned for me!!!!!!

Yesterday, November 14 at 11:20 am, your technician was at our house for a a scheduled service visit. At first, all went well. After he finished with our pump & back-up pump, he did an exterior walk-around inspection of our foundation. He noted a horizontal crack in the cement foundation wall supporting our back porch. The crack is about 6 feet in length, and about 2 feet above ground level. The porch extends 10 feet beyond the main foundation of the house. The porch foundation wall sits on a cement footing. All have rebar reinforcement. Darren explained how Permaseal can address the problem. I listened & responded I will first talk with our contractor who built the house. He is reputable & experienced with foundation work, and he is the logical first stop. This is where things began to go south. Darren again went through how Permaseal would address the problem. I again repeated I'll first talk with our contractor. We repeated the same thing a THIRD time. Back in our kitchen, for a FOURTH time, Darren went into it again! And I told him I'm going to talk with our contractor. Then Darren said he did not understand my response & was ""miffed"" at my response. By this time, he was on the 6th or 7th repetition of why we need Permaseal, ignoring what I told him about contacting the contractor. I took offense at his telling me he was ""miffed"" (def: annoyed, displeased, offended, irritated, etc). It was a very, very unpleasant, and on his part, unprofessional conversation. I had to tell him ""We're done now."" He wrote up the invoice, I paid with my credit card & asked for the invoice, which he sent via email (no problem). I walked him to the front door without any further conversation. He wished me a good day & left.

Until today, we have been extremely happy with Permaseal. Now, we're on the verge of using somebody else in the future. I get it that your technician only billed us for a $49 service visit - he would make more if he sold us on a foundation repair job. His unprofessionalism is now costing you a previously highly satisfied customer. We've used Permaseal for years. No well-trained sale rep would ever have behaved as your technician did. Our company never, never would have tolerated such unprofessional behavior with a customer.

At the very least, you need to provide your technician with some effective feedback & coaching. He may resent it, but he'll be much the better for it.

Our basement flooded last year from a bad sump pump. Because we don't go in to the basement on a regular basis, the water did major damage (+$20K). Because we travel a lot, it was necessary for me to look for something that monitors the pumps on a regular basis and let's me know via txt message that there is something wrong. I have a few ""shout outs"" for the awesome people at Perma-Seal, given my many positive interactions with them. We just had our first annual maintenance service on the backup-prevention system that Perma-Seal installed. ALLEN, who performed the service, explained the procedure thoroughly, was courteous, and arrived on time. He answered my questions, and I was pleased to be able to prepay for next year's service, locking in this year's rate. Last year, the crew that installed our system was headed by GILBERTO, and he and the crew were very professional, knocking out the job in just 2 days. Gilberto kept me informed every step of the way, making the installation process a good experience. In addition, I needed some paperwork completed for the city, and KYLE (the Admin Team Lead) went out of his way to get me what I needed. It is interesting to note that every Perma-Seal employee I've spoken to has worked there for many years and has positive things to say about the company.
