I had my second clog in 9 months since I moved into my current place. The pipes are old and even though I do what I can to prevent anything but water going down the drain, I got another clog.

Decided to try Performance Plumbing this time and called around 11am. I was able to schedule a plumber to come between 2 & 4pm the same day. Received a call around 12 that he was running early and was just around the corner, could he come now?

Not only did he arrive early, but I was charged much less than what the last company charged me! The visit took at MOST 15 minutes to snake my drain and I can once again shower without standing in a puddle. Thank you!

You need three basics from a plumber: (1) they come when they say they will; (2) they fix the problem, and (3) the price is reasonable. Doing those three gets you 4 stars in my book. The extra star because Vlad is a very pleasant and articulate guy who explains things so that you can do the simple stuff yourself and not have to call him out every time. So, yes, as good as it gets.

Called these guys up... , some lady answered from her cell phone... I asked if someone could quote on installing a Noritz tankless and she told me nobody was in the office and hung up. Awesome! Can't even get these guys to come out. How did they get any decent reviews with this being the first impression of their company.

I know they're good at fixing leaks and clogs, but let me tell you that we had a two-week job, and their performance was outstanding. This was replacement of outdated exterior plumbing in a lightwell in a six-unit condo in San Francisco. Fortunately, it didn't have to be done right away, so we waited until rainy season was over (they fixed any leaks while we waited). They got the permit and the parking permit, did the work with a minimum of noise and irritation to the residents, and in less time than they had estimated, and the work passed the inspection the first time. We paid what we had contracted, with no change orders or complaints about ""unexpected"" problems, and they even fixed a ""plastic plumbing with no permit"" problem at no additional charge so it would pass the inspection.

And with a one-year warranty, we don't expect to see them again for a while, though we'll certainly call them for unrelated leaks and clogs that may occur in the future.

No game playing by the first point of contact, person on phone who gives you a quote. I've had to deal with ""It's 3X for the job, now let's negotiate to 2X fair pricing"".

Appointment Time:
Responsive, can tell you how long the plumber is from your house. Great at setting expectations. Only 2 hour window too.

Work:
Very professional, quick, knowledge, thorough. I thought they had cleared the drain but Alex told me he didn't think so. More work and finished right on time (as I had another appointment following this one).

Amazing teamwork, they deserve your business. Why can't other plumbing companies model themselves like this one? Clearly the benchmark to beat. Excellent (and full disclosure I am not a fan trades people who jerk consumers around)

I contacted Performance Plumbing after reading all the Yelp reviews. The hot water tank went out at our apartment building on a Saturday. I contacted them and although the person that I spoke with didn't fill me with confidence, they had a person at the building within a couple hours. I was advised that I needed a new tank and one could not be obtained until Monday. I was told that I would be contacted early Monday with a price. Meanwhile I spoke with one of their competitors who was also highly rated on Yelp. Both companies were to give me an estimate early Monday so that the work could be completed the same day. On Monday morning the competitor called early and gave me a price. I didn't hear from Performance Plumbing. Finally Performance Plumbing called at about 2 PM and gave me an estimate that was $1500 higher then the other 5 Star company that finally did the work. The other 5 Star raters may have had a very good experience, however, my overall experience and impression is although the technician may be competent everything else was second rate and more expensive the others.

I had to replace my sewer line and again hired Performance Plumbing. Alex did a great job. He arrived on time, finished the job on time, passed inspections first time. His price was much less than another bid I got for the job. He is so easy to work with.

Great guys! Called at 8:00 AM on a Sunday morning after hot water heater broke. Alex was here (Inner Richmond) by 9:30. He diagnosed and fixed problem in less than 15 minutes. He replaced parts, explained what had happened and told me what to look out for with this water heater. Fast, knowledgeable and pleasant - can't ask for better.

Had no hot water this morning, called at 8am and performance plumbing was here at 11am. Replaced water heater, found several code violations, (thank you ) and a huge issue with water pressure, requiring a valve to be replaced. We didn't even know we had. Out tech, Bart was awesome. Top notch service.

Wow, really great plumber. Had a leak in the water shutoff valve on my water heater. Sears (where I bought the water heater) wanted to charge me $100 just to come out to look at the leak, not including the actual repair. These guys quoted me less than that for the whole repair including parts!! Also, while replacing the valve, he noticed loose water connections to my water heater (okay, I installed it myself) and tightened up those connections, solving what I had assumed was a slow anode rod leak. He also showed me where my installation was not up to code and was very informative regarding the ancient galvanized pipes in my house (I'll have to upgrade all the steel piping which will eventually rust out). To top it off, they showed up way faster than the other plumbers who I had placed calls to. Highly recommended.
