I called Penny Plumbing at 7pm with an emergency. Neither my Air Conditioning nor my Toilet were working in my apartment, the former of which flooding my bathroom as a result. Regardless of whether this should fall on the management of my building is irrelevant. I had to call emergency services and based on reviews, I contacted Penny. It is now 1:30 in the morning. I have called them every hour since my initial call, for a total of seven times. Each time, I was assured that my issue had been marked as ""urgent"" and ""emergency"" and I should be contacted by a technician ""as soon as they are available"". I was also told that there were two technicians and 5 jobs ahead of me at the time of my first call. So this means that in SIX AND A HALF HOURS, neither of those technicians have had a spare moment to call me and let me know what's going on? I understand things happen and situations change, jobs take longer than they're supposed to. But in almost SEVEN HOURS, nobody has been able to contact me? That seems bizarre. Have both technicians been on the same jobs for this entire time? Have they not gone to new sites where, on the way, they could give me a call? Or been able to take THREE MINUTES out of what they're doing?

I also cannot wait up all night for a callback. Part of the reason I needed this emergency taken care of ASAP was because I have to be up EARLY in the morning (6am) for my first day of Law Classes. Not something I want to be groggy for! I've decided I am finally going to /try/ to go to sleep (even though it is 80° in my apartment, and I can't use the toilet) and will contact a different company tomorrow, provided my building's management doesn't decide to take care of it.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I always hate when people say this but it's true. All this time and NO contact? I wasn't even given a quote! I was told I would ""discuss the pricing with the plumber when they contact me"". What does that even mean?? Ugh.

Update: it is now 8:45 in the morning. I still have not heard back from Penny Plumbing. Beware of this company!! Especially if you have an emergency. The other company I contacted last night and left a message for called me at 7:00 this morning. I will be using their services instead of Penny.

Have used Penny Plumbing 2 times and just called them again. A word about the negative reviews posted here. 1. Skilled work deserves to be paid a fair price. If you don't want to pay, do it yourself. 2. Perfection doesn't happen and nobody is mistake free. Cut people a break. 3. Customer service cannot solve your emotional problems!
The service from Penny Plumbing stands out compared to their peers. Prices are fair, service is quick and up sell options have only been given to me when I asked for them. A competitor charged me $500. to replace a pressure valve which was nothing but robbery. I agree if you don't like them, don't use them but I'd hate to see anyone pass up this option based on those angry reviews.

They were able to properly diagnose the issue and gave me a fair price to fix the issue. The Tech was friendly and very knowledgeable. I will preface by saying that I've used Penny Plumbing for several plumbing needs and I was more than satisfied with their pricing and quality of work. When I first met them they seemed like handful of young, driven, honest, hardworking entrepreneurs dedicated to their business and establishing long term customers. I've experienced my share of opportunistic price gouging plumbers until I met this crew.
So I thought.
I called few days ago to have them come out and check out my leaky garbage disposal. A new face shows up 40 minutes late. Checks out my problem and says it needs to be replaced. I anticipated this so I had purchased a new garbage disposal from Lowes.
He quotes me $202 for the install. When I questioned the pricing he says, "" there's nothing he can do; that's what's in the book.""
I told him I had declined an offer from Lowes to have it installed for $60.
What book is this? The plumber's book on opportunistic price gouging?
You just lost a faithful customer.

The good: The employee was early to the appointment, which was awesome because we had a lot of things to do. He was also very friendly.

The bad: The employee inspected the AC unit outside and the unit in the attic. The radiator was dirty and said it needed to be cleaned. He cleaned both units, which was approximately 2 hours worth of work from the time he arrived. No parts were replaced.

He wanted $475 for the service, which is way overpriced for 2 hours of labor, in my opinion. After talking to him, he said he would drop the price to $375. I still think that's a lot for 2 hours of labor, but agreed to the price.

The AC worked well that day, but started blowing warmer air the next day. I had someone else look at the AC to see if there were any other issues with the unit. The panel on the outdoor unit was taken off and he could feel there was a freon leak coming from a loose bolt where the Penny Plumbing employee had hooked up his equipment. The bolt was screwed on tight, voila! AC is blowing really cold now.

Though the employee was nice, I feel I was nickel and dimed during the service from Penny Plumbing. And it was unfortunate that a bolt was left loose, such a simple solution.

Dont fall for it !!!!!!

I signed on for $49 to get my ac serviced on July 15 2015
On my daughters birthday they showed up over an hour late making excuses. We agreed on $49 for the ac service, we informed him that we were having a problem with the low voltage wire. Indeed he confirmed it was a low voltage wire and he repaired it. The whole visit from start to finish was less than 30 minutes. I was very surprised when he wanted more money. Since it was my daughter s birthday and I wasn't going to argue in front of my guests I paid him another $140 to go away. So $49 became $189.
Never did he inform me that he was changing the deal from $49. I have contacted this company with my dissatisfaction of the entire transaction and they have yet to respond to me. Clearly this was a bait and switch catching me in a compromising situation with him knowing it was my daughters birthday and were were delayed by his actions.

VERY happy with there service. my wife woke me up to a leaking water heater at 630am. she called Penny plumbing as was given a 8am to 11am window. the repair person call at 8:05am and was there by 8:15. quoted me a price and length of time it would be to remove and replace the water heater. he was right on. this is the second time we have used them. if anything should happen again we will be calling again.

I was referred to Josh from a friend when the AC unit at our rental property died. We got two estimates and a friend from the industry let us know there was no fixing it. Just replacing. He called Josh and let him know I would be calling and the next day Josh was out there and done by 11am. Our 9 month pregnant tenant was so happy. I was thrilled to find out they were a plumbing co and not just an AC co, now I can use them for everything else that comes up. Josh was so so nice and easy to deal with. As an owner, its all about piece of mind knowing you can call a company and not worry that you will be getting overcharged because you're not there to see it all. I will absolutely be calling Josh and Penny Plumbing every time i need something!!!

Had such a bad experience with another plumbing company charging us $3600 for two leaks...My husband nearing fainted, what made it worst the other guy came back telling us he would fix it cheap...as a sideline job..""WHAT THE HELL???"".. Got referred to Penny Plumbing, Michael was nice, helpful, and answered all our questions...We will refer this company to all our family members and friends...call them for all your plumbing needs, you won't regret it....
