First of all I purchased a brand new AC unit 5 years ago from them and every single year since it has given me some sort of issue. EVERY YEAR SINCE. This is the first year that service is no longer covered in warranty. Yesterday we had a tech come out because the AC unit is over heating, he looked and said it needs a new capacitor, he then followed it with ""parts are covered, so you'll only have to pay labor, which will cost you $1287.00"" what???!! In just labor fees? His reasoning was ""I have to drive to go get the part."" So, I called another company and they did it with the part and labor for $300. Get out! Insane! Wish I could go back and never purchase their terrible unit to begin with!!!!!!!! Don't trust them!
Sam D.Clowns what else can I say? I had a small plumbing issue is that I had set up a free estimate for. They had this elaborate, expensive solution that would have cost 600.00 if I used them. I was able to get the item fixed for 50.00 elsewhere. The part that was really insulting was that they looked at every opportunity to get me into a contract for items that I didn't call them for then tried to charge me for the estimate. It's like they wanted me to pay them to try to sell me on a bunch of things that I didn't need. With these guys don't bother. They are a joke and will only rip you off.
Guy came out to look at clogged toilet and slow drains. Wreaked of weed. Shushed me. He literally did nothing but suggested snaking it. Fine. It worked for two flushes. He left. Within two more flushes, it was backed up again.
Robert G.Shopping for new water softener. Called all the companies that advertise on Arizona TV plus a few small local companies. The quotes received from those companies ranged from $1,600 to $2,100 which included a few different types except for the Penguin quote. Penguin tech asked if we want their very best or just a standard water softener. We replied just standard. Penguin quoted $4,200 ! Told the tech that is completely out of line in fact more then double what any other company quoted us. I won't even post his reply to that.
They were hired to main our air conditioning unit yearly. They came to perform their inspection this year, but came back to us with a statement that indicated the air conditioning was broken couldn't be fixed and we should replace it with a $14,000 air conditioning unit. We decided to get a second opinion as I noticed, is very important in this business, and that company came back with the fact that it just needs refrigerant added to it and there is very little, if nothing wrong with it. I see that there are a number of similar type of complaints about this company and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to have them do any type of service work for me. We are in the process of trying to get our money back for the service contract as they obviously are not doing very well.
We had a plugged main sewer line at our tri-level home in Tempe. Zair and Matt came out from Penguin Plumbing right on time. They were very professional, friendly, and efficient!! They snaked the line and also ran a camera thru the line. We couldn't be happier with the service and personnel from Penguin. Thank you
Lori ..Our AC broke on the hottest day yet in Arizona, June 8th. Phoenix officially hit 110 degrees for the first time. My first call was to our current AC Company that installed our mini-split, Howard Air. Howard couldn't come out for 3 days. I reminded Howard Air our home was 85 degrees inside and that we have an existing service appt on our mini-split June 9th. Vincent advised the tech will not have time to service the house AC's. OMG so disappointed, so my next call was Penguin Air. Nathan White with Penguin arrived within 90 minutes and had us running ICE COLD in 30 minutes or less. Nathan was very professional, open and honest. We appreciate you guys - thank you. NOTE on Howard Air: they cancelled their June 8th appt. (tech called off), missed the reschedule appt for June 19th and now we are waiting for our 3rd appt June 22nd. If it wasn't a Free Warranty Appt on the Mini-Split I would cancel and have Penguin Service it.
Luis from the overflow team was extremely unhelpful and did not know any information about the company, he was not aware of any pricing and was not able to verify if an appointment was cancelled or any other information I asked from him. Once I was able to get off the phone with him I called the company again and another representative picked up and she was able to give me info about pricing, was able to confirm a plumbing cancelation and any other question I asked. Extremely disappointed in the lack of knowledge and customer care from your representative Luis.
These guys just quoted $900 to replace a small pipe- total rip off!! I would not recommend these guys.
