Would not recomend. Called Penfield to replace the main shutoff in the basement whihc they did and everything seemd oK. Less and two weeks later I discovered water seeping into my basement, which was coming form a small leak in the main water line just upstream of the new shut off, on the ourside of the nasement wall. Related to thier replacement of the water main shut off?
I called Penfield to alert them to this nw issue and they sent someone out, who's main mission seemd ot be to state that it wasn't related to the previous work they had done recently.
Anothiny came out the next day looked it over and gave me a quote to replace the water main. He also offfered the name of a servive who specializes in water main replacment (trenchless) as the water main runs under our driveway and front walk.
After telling Anthony I woud like to have him do the replacement, I waitied for an appointment of the work to start. After multple calls and text messages to their office and Anthony directly they never responed. They just said very busy, will get back to you, etc....They just didn't want to do the work and werent honest enough to tell us.
In the mean time we had our water turned off to prevent further leaking,we so had to hook up a hose to a helpful neighbor for water while Penfield left us hanging.
Ended up using Dyna Mole. They di a great job and would recomend usng them for similar work.
Will never call Penfield and will nver recommend them.
Brian G.Had a really simple mixing valve problem that needed fixing, Bob came by 2 hours ahead of the scheduled appointment time and performed a $400 repair that left the water pressure worse, the water still cold, and now it sounds like a weed eater is being run in the bathtub on top of everything else. I'm pissed and if they don't fix it tomorrow, I'm going to take them to small claims court.
I was told it's $54 to come to the house. I explained to the secretary the problem with the toilets. The plumber came and did not bring parts or a toilet. My day was wasted because I put aside time for the repair or replacement of the toilets. Was his purpose only to get $54 from me? The secretary could have gotten the brand of the toilet and age of the toilet by asking me and he could have brought parts- although he stated that the toilet was too old to repair (15 yr)-he didn't want to repair- yet he didn't bring a toilet, either. If it's their policy they don't want to repair toilets that are 15 yr old, at least the secretary should be trained to ask these questions so I, the consumer, could make a decision without wasting $54- or is this their agenda to collect $54 at every house call, do nothing and then return? He was not prepared to do anything- Penfield Plumbing wasted both my time and money. Working with a service provider should be a win-win situation for both the service provider and the customer. It was a win for Penfield Plumbing but a loss for me.
Lady G.Amazing service. The gave us a quote the same day we called and was able to,come back the next day to install. They had some installation issues ( not their fault, old house) so they changed the gas water heater to a electric one sane day, ran the electrical lines as well. They had open communication and excellent techs.
verified one outside hose bib is not in need of replacement, replaced another changing out some galvanized pipe, worked a day early because an opening became available?
Joe B.Dont Waste Your Time and Money - Avoid at All Costs
Aaron showed up at my house to install a toilet. The toilet was to be installed in an empty bathroom with a drain pipe and a water line already existing from a prior installation done by Penfield Plumbing.
Aaron looks at the room and then says he is going to go to his truck and call his boss. He comes back in and says he needs codes to do this work (even though he is only being asked to install a toilet in an empty room). He tells me to email his boss with drawings of what the bathroom will look like once finished. I sent the emails, never got any response.
It is a few months later and I call Penfield Plumbing again.
Same thing: Can you install a toilet? 'Why yes, we'll send our best plumber, Aaron.' they say...(Great). So, Aaron shows up in his giant box truck, presumably full of all the equipment and parts one requires to install a toilet. And he showed up early too, likely arriving from another job he ducked out of by saying something about an email. Aaron enters and begins to pretend he has never been in my house before and has never given me the old email excuse to get out of a job he didn't want to do. Perhaps he was being genuine; maybe he is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, could it be he doesn't know how to install a toilet? He looks at the bathroom once again, he looks at the drain pipe, he looks up at the water lines and says ""Nice, you got everything hooked up in here."" and then, I know the drill, he goes out to his truck. He come back in and says ""were gonna set something up for you, we'll email you"" and he is gone.
Talked to Anthony on the phone, the manager of what he calls a ""Full service plumbing company."" He said he saw pictures of the room, taken by Aaron, and there was no water line...Thats interesting because Aaron looked up at the water line and said ""Nice, you got everything hooked up in here."" Penfield Plumbing recently installed a water line in that room for a sink, so what about that, Anthony? Could Aaron had used that to install the toilet? ""Well I guess he could have.""
Gotta love the ""Full service plumbing company"" experience.
It is rare to see this level of unprofessionalism. It is fine to refuse a job. But be a professional, be a grown up, and say ""I can't do the job because _________"". Its too bad Anthony and Aaron are such poor representatives for the company because the two guys who came over and put that water line in were pretty cool.
I wish Aaron was honorable enough to look at me and say: ""Hey man, I know high school students in shop class install toilets, but I dont know how to do it, sorry.""
I'll keep refreshing my email but at this point I am either going to install the toilet myself or get a real plumbing company to do the job.
I will give Penfield plumbing another chance because they were attentive to the matter and didn't let it slide. As I said before I used them at my business for repairs and they were excellent.
Very friendly staff when I called, appointment was within the week. The tech that came out was very nice and helpful. I'm very big on personality and how people speak to me when they come to my home and fix things and the serviceman I have was great. I will definitely call them again for any plumbing need. We have had a number of plumbing problems since we purchased our house 6 years ago. We used a few plumbing services until we found Penfield Plumbing, we will never use anyone else. They are all really good at what they do, they are all honest, they are all trustworthy and they are all kind. Their response time is wonderful and their pricing is very fair. They are really wonderful people and a great company. We are thankful that they still take our calls b/c I wouldn't if I were them! Our house is a disaster!!! Thank you guys!!
Jane D.We had a emergency with our plumbing the other night. I contacted their emergency call number and received a call back from Jess who was on call. He arrived at 9 pm and worked on the problem until 1:30 am. He couldn't resolve it that night so he came back the next day with a different piece of equipment and another worker. Within a half hour they had it resolved. I would recommend this company for your plumbing needs. Guys thanks for your help!!
